Andechser Weissbier Hell

Andechser Weissbier Hell

Formerly known as Andechser Weissbier Hefetrüb.

When summer is on the way and the days invite you to swim, ramble, climb, or simply enjoy the outdoors, you will discover that an Andechser Weissbier Hell is just the right thing to quench your thirst.

Since Saint Joseph’s Day on 19 March 1993, Andechs Weissbier Hell has found many new friends. Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure.

Its light honey colour makes it an immediate eyecatcher. Then there’s the opalescence and fine structure of the yeast turbidity. At the same time, the creamy, fine pored head invites you to get to know this light Weissbier from the Holy Mountain. You’ll need two takes to enjoy the aromas to the full.

First, distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. Andechser Weissbier Hell is a very tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body. It concludes on a finely balanced interplay of light sweet honey and a delicate acidity with undertones of bitter hoppiness that quickly subside into a harmonious aftertaste.

A Weissbier that embodies a slice of the Andechs lifestyle: finely yeasty, tangy, and sparkling, it refreshes and renews the thirst for more (original extract: 12.5%; abv: 5.5%).

3.5 Delikatnie bananowy aromat. Barwa żółta, wysoka i gęsta piana. W smaku kwaskowe nuty wymieszane z bananem, nieco goryczki w posmaku. Ledwie wyczuwalne wędzone tło. Dobre, solidne piwo.
3.9 Bottle. Clear golden pour, nice head. Yeasty aroma. Nice banana and clove flavor. Smooth and tasty.
3.3 Bottle pour, cloudy gold. Banana and yeast aroma. Nice banana and clove flavors followed by a sweet and musty yeast note.
4.3 Very solid traditional weissbier.Smooth,nice sweet malt,paired w turkey
3.8 Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours unclear orange-gold with a tight, creamy white topping. Man, that aroma takes me back to my early days of drinking beer. Big wheat, citrus, yeast. Light-medium sweet flavour with fresh wheat bread, a little white sugar, low bitterness, nips of lemon rind, tangerine, mild phenolic notes. Light to medium bodied with time, massaging carbonation. Restrained sweet finish, more fresh wheat bread. Delicious.
3.4 Bottle at home. Pours hazy golden with big white head. Aroma of bananas, malt. Tastes slightly sweet with little bitterness. Medium bodied, highly carbonated.
3.8 Taste: crisp, banana, cloves, wheat bread, barley malt also. Same with the nose. Golden hue, hazy, refined head and some lace. Medium body. A nice hybrid of to styles.
3.9 500 ml. with an indecipherable date stamp. Pours mostly clear orange-bronze with an enduring film of beady bubbles. Aroma of banana nut bread and a squeeze of lemon. Flavors of the same with a touch of clove and just a hint of allspice. Light-medium bodied with smooth medium carbonation and a nice balance.
4.0 Pours a hazy yellow gold, persistent white head. Classic aroma of banana, sliced melon and cloves. Taste is initially fruity, some spice, some drying bitterness. Perfect thirst quencher for the hottest day of the year!
3.9 I came home from Susan’s in Santa Fe with this 500 ml bottle of Andechser Hell. The lid is off and I pour into a handled beer glass. The appearance is a hazy yellow-orange body with a fluffy, persistent head of solid white foam. It has a fruity and spicy scent. A taste, not bad. Orange peel, coriander, clove, white bread and water. Crisp with just a touch of bitterness. The colder the better I would think, a good summer drink.
4.2 On draft at the Kloster, First Bier in gastronomy since last summer, drunk with a schweinsbraten. Banana yeasty, lightly sweet, creamy, smooth with a hint of hop bitterness. The gold standard, if you don't like this you must hate Weißbier. Also, the Krustenbraten is about the best ever, great cracklin.
4.0 Hazy orange with a lasting off-white head due to the visual carbonation in the form of tiny bubbles. Aroma of banana and spice with more spice in the taste. Refreshing spritzy finish.
4.8 A perfect Weißbier, AFAIK equaled only by fellow Bavarians Weihenstephaner and Schneider.
3.5 Ochutnáno během pivní domácí akce 17. dubna 2021. Více informací dodám později.
3.5 Bottle. Hazy, effervescent golden yellow with a fluffy whitish head. Typical banana, clove, and wheat. Lightly spiced taste. Medium bodied and a little fizzy.
3.2 Bright hazy golden color, yeasty bready floral aroma. Strong banana ester taste with refreshing fizzy carbonation.
Excelente.
3.7 July 30th, 2016 - A Donkey Kong's country worth of banana mushroom clouds out of the glass, like a melted Laffy Taffy, but not too sweet. The smell is almost chewy, and causes salivation with a heavy glaze of butterscotch, sage and rosemary. The gourmet aroma leads to a semi-foamy body, and a clear taste of banana mixed with fresh cut cedar. A delicious and unique combination.
4.5 Gutes Weizen
2.4 Quite a typical wezein you get from Germany. There’s plenty of banana in the taste. The beer is pretty good but I was hoping for a fresher feel. Looks nice with a yellow and hazy appearance.
3.7 Nose has some banana, mild spice etc. Bright orangey gold colour, opaque in glass. Taste is extremely easy, mild and refreshing. Moderately sweet. Would like to try this again on a summers day.
3.8 Gold pour, coarser white head. Creamy, milder esters, mild but detectable bitter snap on the close. Green apple. Amazingly quaffable.
3.8 Eingetrübte goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Hefiger, malziger, getreidiger, fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich hefig, malzig, getreidig, fruchtig mit Bananen, würzig. Mittlere Süße mit mittlerer Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.
3.2 Bottle, Beers of Europe. Golden, slightly cloudy, big white foam. Pretty classic weizen here, some grainy malt, low bitterness, gentle fruity notes from the yeast. Easy drinking and quenching.
2.9 Bottle from Buckfast Abbey Monastic Shop, Buckfastleigh. Golden well carbonated weizen with soft banana evident in both aroma and taste but unfortunately coming across as quite bland in the latter.
3.4 Medium, balanced nuances of soft mineral-like wheat, a bit artificial. Narrow/medium taste spectrum and medium aftertaste with fresh wheat. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, good quality wheat. 5 3 7 4 15

4.3 Sweet and fruity. Tastes better up the hill but still might fine.
3.8 Pours a bright hazed golden with white head. Spice and dried fruit aroma and taste. Super clean and flavorful. One of the better German wheat beers. Notes: bottle from Toom, Sep ‘20
3.5 Draught at Boule & Berså. Hazy golsen with full head. Banana and coriander aroma. Fresh fruity taste with some banana. Medium body.
