Anderson Valley Boont Amber Ale

Anderson Valley Boont Amber Ale

Balance is what makes our Boont Amber Ale so unique: rich, crystal malts give this beer a deep copper hue and contribute a slight caramel sweetness while the herbal, spicy bitterness from carefully selected whole-cone hops impart a crisp, clean finish. Hints of sun toasted grain, toffee, and fruity esters compliment the mellow, noble hop aroma.

3.8 Pint. Deep copper/amber, ruby highlights. Big foamy tan head. Deep malty aroma. Taste is complex malt, dry, some spice. Finished it quickly. Good.
3.9 Bottle from Damian. Dark copper colour with thick off-white head, aroma of malt, raisins. Taste is malty, caramel, raisins, rum, lower bitterness, medium sweet. Great amber ale.
2.6 Dark copper color with a small, white head that diminishes quickly with good lacing. Aroma and taste is malty, roasted cereals and caramel with yeast and a faint note of fresh hops. Short-lasting and light bitter taste balanced with a more prominent malty sweetness, light body, watery texture and low carbonation. Despite its relatively low alcohol content, there is a quite notable alcoholic warmth. A nice and correct amber ale where nearly all the needed elements are present, although nothing really stands out.
2.4 This was a nice surprise. Someone left this in my fridge over vacation and I thank them for it. Smells of chocolate and coffee. Smooth going down the pipe and then a hint of caramel in the back of my throat.

Geur: Zoet, karamel, honing, gedroogd fruit. 'Smaak: Zoet, Honing, fruitig. Afdronk: begint zoet, eindigt droog.
3.1 Draft - More of a brown color then amber. Certainly a strong malt note. Bitterness without the kick of an IPA. Malt is there but not super pronounced which is good. Malty but not sweet. Good beer, goes really well with the bbq I am having with it.
3.4 26 June 2018. Sample at 't Taphuys, Tilburg. Shared with Anke. Hazy amber/copper with a lasting, small, foamy, off-white head; lots of lacing. Aroma of caramel, raisin, dried fig, walnut, almond, peanut, vanilla, bready malt. It tastes medium malty sweet, hints of raisin & caramel, and light hoppy bitter, a bit nutty with a very light citric sourness. Herbal & grassy hoppy finish, lingering bread & caramel. Medium body, fluffy texture, soft carbonation. A distinctly modern Amber Ale.
3.7 Boont Amber Ale pours a deep amber color and sports a medium-sized off-white head that leaves decent lacing behind. Notes of caramel, molasses, toffee as well as dark fruits and a hint of grass float uip to the nose. Muted caramel notes and molasses sweetness form the attack and is followed by light notes of prunes and browned bananas, then transitions to grassy and lightly citric hop notes. A roasty note lingers with the mostly dry finish. Decent one!
3.4 Vörösesbarna szín, kicsi, tartós hab. Alig érezhető, gabonás, leheletnyit karamelles illat. Gabonás, kissé édeskés, nyomokban karamelles ízek. Könnyed, enyhén szénsavas, csak alig érezhető keserűvel. Kissé szegényes ízvilág , de kétségtelenül kiegyensúlyozott. Ezaz a sör, amit egész nap eliszogat az ember.
3.4 Bottle. Amber with a thin cream head. Sweet caramel flavour with a little pine hop. Nice easy drinking.
3.5 Robe ambrée, fine effervescence. Des goûts de caramel et d'épices. Manque d'ampleur en bouche. Finale assez courte.
4.3 Possibly the best of this style Ive had. Pour is a dark murky brown with soapy high head and lacing. Smells of biscuit and cookie, brown sugar and caramel. Tastes of cooked brown sugar cookies and dry nutty yeasty cracker. Drying and burnt aftertaste
3.8 deep caramel toasty flavours. cloudy brown. so malty wild mild bitterness. med body. med carb. a very passable ale to be sure.
3.6 Flasticka z drink shopu. Taka sladkasta karamelova vona. Farba viac do hneda. Chut sladkasta karmelova.
3.2 355 ml. bottle @ Home. Aroma: not very intense aromas of caramel, toasted malts, malts, caramel, honey. Hints of fruits, grapes, wine, yeast. Appearance: amber to deep amber color with beige head and high to very high head thickness. High to very high retention with low to medium Brussels' lacing. Medium hazyness. Taste: medium sweetness, low bitterness, no sourness. Flavors of caramel, toasted malts, brown sugar, toffee, bread crust, toasted biscuits with hints of fruits, grapes, wine, stone fruits, nuts and yeast. Balance is toward the sweet side but it's not cloying and quite well balanced. Palate: medium body, oily to creamy texture, low carbonation, quite long sweet finish with low sweetness and flavors of caramel, toasted malts, brown sugar, grapes, fruits. The finish starts sweet but it's increasingly bitter as the time goes by, lingering a low bitterness mouthfeel. Alcohol is not noticeable. There is no astringency in this beer. Overall: very good appearance and very pretty color. Aromas are not very intense but very pleasant. Flavors are very good, complex and pleasant. Despite the sweetness, the beer is not cloying and very drinkable. Very good mouthfeel. It would be better with more hop aromas and flavors. Good beer.
3.6 Can. Pours cloudy amber with off-white head and lacing. Bread malt aroma with white raisins and some tart cherries. Biscuit malt with toffee and some plum notes.
3.0 zapach przyjemny, słodki, karmel, toffi, słody, rodzynki, lekkie praliny, nugat, orzechy laskowe, trochę ciemnego chleba na zakwasie, ładnie zgrane. kolor brązoworudy, opalizujący, w toni zawieszone bardzo dużo malutkich drobin, piana jasnobeżowa, niezbyt obfita, ale stara się być trwała. w smaku raczej wytrawne, lekko wodniste, słody, słodki karmel, nugat, przypieczony chleb, spieczone herbatniki, orzechy laskowe i włoskie, trochę ziół i przypraw. goryczka umiarkowana, ale ze względu na niską słodowość dość wyraźna. orzechy, zielone rośliny, przyprawy i lekkie nuty podpalane. nasycenie umiarkowane.
3.3 From Feb 2008 I got this in a trade with Wasatch. Thanks John! It pours a reddish gold with about a 1/2 inch head of foam. The foam doesn't hang around for very long and there's not much lacing. The smell is of caramel malt and hop bitterness and is about equal in proportion. The taste is of caramel malt, roasted malt, some bread, and midway through and through the finish, there's a nice hop bite that gives a nice balance to the over all flavour but it's still slightly on the sweet side and, for me, it works nicely. Amber/Reds that are tasty enough to keep me interested for the entire session aren't all that easy to find for my palate but this one fits the bill. I recommend it because it's tasty and it's a good brew to session.
3.5 Hazy amber to copper, lasting small off-white head. Red fruits, toasty malts, light hops, very fruity. Mostly dry with some malty sweetness. Medium body, creamy texture, moderate carbonation, dry aromatic finish. A good example of the style.
3.6 A bottle from the basement of 101. Aroma: malty caramel, very inviting. Appearance: Pours a generous tan head which quickly dissipates to 2 mm. of froth. Hazy dark amber. Palate: medium-bodied and rather creamy, average carbonation. Flavoursome malty finish. Taste: medium sweet and bitter, well-balanced. Some coffee at the finish, tastes boozier than it is, I like it.
3.2 Can from Liquor Express. It poured an amber color with a thin white head. The aroma is malty with notes of caramel and some stone fruits. The taste is sweet.
3.0 I don't know what it is about ambers but they just have a very flat taste to them even when you know it's fresh. That lingering flavor trumps what could be a really good beer
3.5 Nice beer. Like it. What is this. Crazy. I paid for this. Thank you. Buy. Seriously? Thou kid me not.
3.3 A good brew to sip on a summer’s night. A smooth amber that goes down easy.
