A full body, ambrosial maltiness, and an arousing hoppy bite. This beer is not for the light beer drinker or those desiring no aftertaste. Note: Formerly known as Belk's ESB.

3.0Backlog. Tried on tap @ Grand Öl & Mat. Always love an ESB, this is a decent addition to the style, not a favorite.
3.8Pours a hazy copper with a thick tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, light vanilla, bourbon and grassy hops. Taste is carnage, vanilla, grass and citrus and a nice easy bitterness throughout with the sweet malt flavors dominating. Delicious esb.
3.3Hazy copper pour. Aroma is toffee, grapefruit. Flavour has stone cracker malts with bitter grapefruit rind and a slight herbal note. Good.
3.2On tap at Anderson Valley, pours a hazy copper orange with a small white head. Aroma is very subtle, with light notes of vanilla, bourbon, and English hops. Flavour is unusual, bringing out loads of wood, vanilla, English malt, and English hops in back. Don’t think I’ve ever had a barrel aged ESB, but this execution is done very well, despite the seemingly odd should of styles to barrel age. Everything is in balance and harmony. Good stuff, just not really my thing.

22 oz. bottle, pours hazy golden with a white head. Great aroma of hops, caramel malt and some fruit. Flavour is somewhat muted - caramel, some hops, wheat and herbs. Very nice.
2.5Bottle date: nunya!
Pours an amber with a finger of light cream foam. This falls in a couple minutes to a beer with moderate lace. Smells of malts (english tone) with a bit of a hit of bitter, burnt caramel. This is the nose I generally look for in an ESB, but this is a little too subdued. Flavor is of malts and a weird, over powering flavor I place akin to sushi wrap (seaweed). Really this flavor is overpowering anything else I am tasting, unfortunately. The body is a bit thin with high carb and a semi dry finish. I’m a bit disappointed by this and would not likely order again on my own buck.

3.5Notes from 12-28-2010 -- Golden with little to no head. Sweet lightly malty with some citrusy hops in the aroma. Tastes sweet with strong citrusy hops at the end. Very drinkable, a little too strong hop flavor
3.2Bottle (12 oz). Bottle from FondueVoodoo, thanks! Hazy amber with a small off-white head that leaves a persistent ring of foam. Aroma is of malt/caramel with hoppy notes, sweetness, floral notes and citrus. Taste is slightly to moderately sweet along with floral notes, citrus and light bitterness in the finish. Some herbal presence too. Medium body. Low to moderate carbonation. A tad too much caramel, but not a bad ESB.
4.5Good ground and fine malt body with sleek, bitter and long finish. Tastes and smells quality from the first sip to the last.
2.1Bottle. Metallic lemon and barley malt aroma. Hazy amber with moderate head. Cardboard, light barley malt, and moderately bitter herbal and metallic flavor. Mediocre.
3.5Boa cerveja. Laranja escura com Bia formação de espuma. Aroma cítrico com o fundo de malte. Sabor cítrico, com dulçor do malte balanceado e amargor evidente sem ser agressivo. Refrescante.
2.6Golden with off white head. Aroma of sweet malt, herbal and floar hops. Taste of weka roasted malts, toffee and hints of hops.
2.9Golden. Bitterness and grapefruit seeds in aroma. American rather.than British. Missing desired britishness for an ESB.
3.1355ml bottle as Anderson Valley Belk’s ESB. Pours a hazy copper amber, with a medium off-white head, which lasts well and leaves reasonable lacing. The aroma has some savoury notes, nutty and caramel malt and faint pine hops. Pine and lime hops up front lead into savoury nutty malt in the mid-palate. A savoury flavour persists into the finish, to be joined by caramel malt. A passable if not spectacular bitter.
2.6Pour is hazy oramge with no head, no bubbles, completly flat. Aroma of floral and citrusy hops, sweet malts. Taste has citrusy and grassy hops, caramel, a bit sweet. Low-medium body. Could have been good but this one is a drain-pour
3.5A hazy, amber-orange pour with a thin white head. The aroma has floral and grassy hops mixed with some light, bready malt. The light body has an oily texture with soft carbonation. The taste is mildly bitter with a very dry finish.
3.0Bottle: pours a dark orangish golden color with a light tan head. Malty aroma of sweet grains. The flavor is caramely with a slight bitterness. Nice, solid mouthfeel. Enjoyed this one.
3.3No bottling information.
Appearance: Clear amber body with a tall light tan head that has good retention, settling into a sparse coating.
Aroma: The aroma is malty with caramel and brown sugar notes with an herbal tea like hop aroma along with some fig aromas.
Taste: Malty with lots of caramel, notable most through the mid-taste through to the finish. Perhaps a touch too much. The hoppiness is mild, providing a slightly floral and herbal quality to the flavor.
Palate: Light in carbonation, but full bodied.
Overall: This is a decent beer and I could certainly drink it, but it’s not very enjoyable by the end.
3.1Hazy medium amber with a long-lasting head cover and wide horizontal streaks of lace. Taste is strong malt with a little sweetness appearing in the palate, that grows as it adds a bittering finish. The finish eventually drops the bitter, leaving a sweet residue. Overall, very drinkable.
3.7Poured from bottle into an English Pint glass, it is a caramel color with a thin head, the aroma is malt and some sweetness, taste is malt up front and then gives way to hoppy bitterness that is pronounced, overall a nice ESB
3.3Deep gold, hazy, off-white head. Aroma of grainy-sweet malt with a little caramel, spicy-herbal hop aroma with a little citrus in there. Flavor is biscuity and grainy with a little honey sweetness, followed by a soft herbal hop flavor, finishes with a moderate spicy hop bitterness.
3.4Nice solid brew. Golden yellowish body with a head of thin wispy beige and the aroma has mild spiced hops, grapefruit and a mild caramelized biscuity malt. Well balanced and crisp, clean flavour.
3.2Bottle @ Torben Mathews tasting. Clear amber with big off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, caramel and hop. Flavour is malt, fruit, caramel, little toasted, medium sweet and a little bitter.

3.5It pours a hazy light amber orange with a small head that looks like off white styrofoam. The nose has a bit of caramel, a slight metallic note, slight floral notes, and a slight fruitiness. The flavor has a forward pine bitterness with lots of caramel, toast, maybe a slight touch of butterscotch, and a slight fruitiness. Medium body with soft carbonation leading to a dry finish. Really nice brew!

3.5Hazy amber/gold color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of malt/yeast, dusty hops, & caramel; Flavor of slight sweet malt, caramel/toffee, hops, light fruit, and some citrus; Finish is dry and slightly bitter; Pretty decent ESB.
3.6Very nice malty aromas consisting of caramel, toasted malt and herbs. Flavors were good but not as strong as the aromas and were a bit more hoppy. Pours a beautiful amber color with a relatively small white head that left some lacing. Mouthfeel was a bit thin with a moderatly bitter finish. Overall an excellent and hoppy ESB.
3.5Pint at Antenna America. It poured a cloudy amber color with an off-white head. It has a nice mild hop aroma, a nice malty taste and a bitter hop finish. Very good.
