Anderson Valley Brother David's Triple Abbey-Style Ale

Anderson Valley Brother David's Triple Abbey-Style Ale

Similar to Belgian-style Strong Pales, the Tripel is often characterized by its lighter color, spicy aromatics, and complexity. Brother David’s Triple is brewed with copious amounts of pale malts as well as Belgian candi sugar, giving it a deep golden hue, medium body and rich mouth feel. The dense head gives off aromas of candied orange peel, clover honey, pears, and a hint of freshly mown fields. The fruity esters and spicy hop flavors balance the phenolic characteristics leading to a peppery, citrusy finish.

2.7 A bottle from the basement of 101. Aroma: malt, bread. Appearance: slightly hazy amber, residual lacing. Palate: medium-bodied and slick, soft carbonation. Sweet, slightly peppery finish. Taste: heavily sweet, tastes of candy, lacks complexity.
3.5 0.3 bottle. Pours clear golden color with small, mostly lasting white head. Aroma of spices, cloves, candies. Flavor is medium sweet, medium to high bitter. Finish is medium sweet, warm alcohol. Full body, sparkling carbonation.
3.7 12 oz bottle with alternative label. Pours foggy light amber with small head. Fat malty aroma. Big fruit jam as well. Medium to full body. Sweet taste. Corn, marmelade, lollipop, light hopping. Well let it be.
2.6 Bottle into a tulip glass. Aroma of candied orange, yeast, and a lot of alcohol.
4.3 Bottle from Systembolaget, Sweden. Yellow/read appearance. Some CO2 but not very much. Fruity, caramel.Lightly sweet, but not dominating. Nice balance between sweet and a slight bitterness. I have tried this before in the US but it is much better than my recall. Excellent triple!
3.4 Bottle. Clear pale orange color with white head. Aroma - Sweet, biscuit, caramel, bread, melon. Taste - Heavy cloying sweetness, tangerine, grain, caramel.
3.0 Nice to try, flavors too strong, won’t get again. I see the double is very highly rated, so I will have to try that next.
3.6 Smell of butter, cream and a little banana. Not much foam. Flavours of pineapple, banana, peaches, orange peel. A little ginger. Could have slightly more bitterness, and less sweetness.
2.0 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer.
3.9 Bottle 355ml. Deep yellow, small white head, little carbonation. Aroma is sweetish, peaches, malts. The taste is mildly sweet with a bitter undertone. Lots of fruits: peaches, grapefruit, etc. The aftertaste leaves you with a warm glow of alcohol and bitterness.
3.2 Dark orange yellow with slight white head, full-bodied. Boozy and slightly fruity aroma. Peach sweetness to the taste fades as the beer warms, leading to more sourness and bitter aftertaste. Not a real Abbey tripel, just an OK beer.
3.6 Poured at home in a snifter. Rusty orange in color with a small head for a triple. Fruity aroma with apples, pears, peaches, candied sugars, and biscuit. Taste is as fruity as aroma, biscuit, candied sugars. Meium light carb, light mouthfeel.
3.4 Bottle a golden yellow colored beer with a white head aroma malts yeast fruits spicy and hops flavor malts oranges citrus fruits spicy some caramel yeast and hops
3.2 Bottle. It pours a rich, deep golden orange color with a small white head. The aroma is pretty sweet and boozy with some alcohol, orange, marzipan, honey and light spicy yeast notes. The flavor is the same. Lots of alcohol, orange, honey, bread dough and a decent amount of spicy/fruity yeast in the finish. Very sweet and virtually no hop character. Not really my idea of a nice Tripel.
3.3 355ml bottle from lovecraft, aveiro, portugal. Cloudy orange color. Thin white head. Medium sweetness. Light to medium bitterness. Aroma is herby, spicy, fruity, malty.
3.4 Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow from the bomber with thin white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of big Belgian esters, banana, bubblegum, wheat. Taste follows, clean and easy, not my style but solid.
3.9 355ml bottle at home. Somewhat hazy orange with a medium white soapy head. Medium to full body with low to moderate carbonation. Quite sweet, but Well balanced with subtle bitter tones. Peach, tropical fruits, citrus, some yeast, grass and some herbs. Very tasty triple, liked this one a lot.
3.5 Supergeiles Belgian Trippel.
3.1 Pours cloudy golden straw with a thick white head. Aroma is like apple juice and Graham crackers. It’s got a decided Belgian bubblegum flavor with a bit of juice. This is kind of tart with a ton of flour and nut in the tongue. This is pretty good.
3.6 Pours golden-amber into the glass, with a nice fluffy head that leaves spotty lacing. The nose is of distinct bran cereal and yeasty esters. Flavors have caramel, banana, fruit breads and indistinct berry jam, finishing with a nice pie spice, accentuating a numbing clove aspect. The spices, clove and malty sweetness work together well in the mouth, providing an actively carbonated, medium-bodied Belgian offering. The palate is substantial, but not heavy, with some nicely sweet complexities at play. The ABV is hidden well for a high gravity Belgian Tripel. Nice job on this one. Very enjoyable.
3.2 A not too bad tripel by the Anderson Valley Brewing. I liked the combination of a Belgian technique with American hops.
3.3 Bottle of BeerGeek Bottle Shop, Prague. Clear golden with a medium size, white head, long lasting, leaving lacing. Sweet, crisp flavor, yeast, honey, figs. Smooth and sweet mouthfeel. Taste has a direct impact on alcohol, sweet flavors, banana, caramel, apricot, honey, but does not hide booze tastes.
