Anderson Valley Hop Ottin IPA

Anderson Valley Hop Ottin IPA

Hop-Heads, your dreams have come true! Hop Ottin’ is Boontling for "hardworking hops," and they’re surely hard at work in this brew. Hop Ottin’ starts with a strong floral aroma, which winds into a deep and complex body. In an intriguing balance, honey-drenched malts coat rich hop undertones. At length, the hops prevail, with a satisfyingly crisp finish. Hop Ottin’ bites like a cankicky bluetail (Hop Ottin’ bites like a rattlesnake looking for a fight.)

MALTS:

Pale Two-Row, Crystal (40L), Munich (20L)

3.7 Bottle at Cervecería Polar, Madrid. Pours cloudy dark orange, tan head. Aroma is marmalade, honey, jelly, quince, guava... Also dandelion, pine needle and coffee. Quite a wide array of scents, if you wanna know. Mouthfeel is slightly watery and light (a little shocking after the nose) with little CO2. Very bitter finish, as expected, that lasts long but not super-long. So-so.
3.6 Bottled 0,355L. Hazy orange/ruby color, unclear and bubbly aspect with creamy white head of medium duration. Light roasty and braced caramel aroma, notes of cortex, pale malt, light citrus, roast cereals. Mellow and fraught caramel and cortex palate, notes of resin, braced and sweet caramel, aged and riped red fruit, bit floral and citrus body. Pleasant and equilibrate alcoholic and bitter/sweet final.
3.0 Aroma is a dank malty hoppyness.. I'm getting some sour notes too. Pours a medium orangey brown.. dry, bitterness.. floral, sweetness... I'm still getting some sourish notes on this one.. maybe it is old? Wouldn't get again.
3.5 Hazy orange pour. Tones of mandarin, caramel and lots of bitterness. Decent!
3.5 Bottle from Saveur bière.com. Amber color, white head. Pretty common américain ipa, average.
3.5 Can. Pours bronze. Aroma of caramel, resiny hops. Taste is resiny, piney, very malty. Enjoyable nice table or pizza beer but nothing special.
4.0 Raikas kuivuus.
4.4 Color ámbar oscuro y transparente. Espuma marfil de burbuja irregular. Aroma floral, a fruta madura, pino. Chispeante. Sabor a fruta madura, pino, miel, muy duradero.
Appearance: pours slightly hazy amber with good soapy off-white head and lacing. aroma/taste: caramel, bread, pine, oranges, grapefruit and grassy notes. palette: strong hoppy aroma, average carbonation, medium body, medium sweetness, balanced by a medium to notable bitterness, average to long duration and a watery texture. Overall: Tasteful woody IPA
3.5 In der Nase leicht fruchtig, wenig Aroma. Im Trunk blumig, fruchtig, crispy, Beeren, dann malzig, leicht alkoholisch. Lecker!
3.3 Proefglas van 33cl-fles. U: Troebel oranje-amber met een witte schuimkraag. G: Oxidatie, karamel, mandarijn, sinaasappel, mandarin napoleon en licht hoppig. S: Zoet met een zeer lichte hopbitterheid. Mandarin napoleon en karamel. M: Medium body en medium carbonatie.
3.5 Fles. Troebel oranjekleurig bier met wit schuim. Geur: hoppig, fruitig, mandarijn, wat karamel, iets likeurachtig. Smaak: moutzoet, karamel, fruitig, licht hoppig. Medium body. Medium koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: wat droog.
3.1 Uiterlijk: Oranje/bruin met een beige schuimlaag. Geur: floraal, hoppig, citrusfruit en karamel. Smaak: bitter, aards, toffee.
3.5 Bottle 12oz. Cloudy orange with a beige foamy head. Strong aroma of fresh citrus hops followed by malty tones. Bitter taste, plenty of hops, bitter. Some malt present, but not a lot. Long bitter finish. Bitter bitter, and ooh just before I forget, firm bitter taste. Not an IPA for beginners
3.3 Can from Beer Revolution, Hay on Wye, Powys. Had this at home, Thursday 21st June 2018 sat by the pond. Pours dark gold edging towards light amber, white head atop. Fruity but also a little sweet, crystal malt here is quite dominant. It's hoppy but there is a stream of caramel also. Quite good. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
3.4 Bottle. Pour amber with a one and half finger thick slightly creamy off-white head. Very light sweet malty, biscuity aroma. Taste is sweet, biscuit dough, bready, with a very light bitter finish. Honey notes definitely. 78 IBU? No way. Nice mouthfeel, sticky on the lips. Not an IPA that you drink in a single gulp, rather sippable. Not exaclty old school, but something in that direction, without the balsamic pine notes or the upfront bitterness.
3.5 On tap at Sloan Square, Milan, Italy. It pours golden/amber with a, medium, frothy, white head. Aroma is pine, grass, resin, orange. Taste is medium bitter. Body is medium; carbonation is average. Overall nice and solid IPA.
3.2 resin, floral, spruce, grass, citrus, herbs, light sweetness, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, medium bitterness, very bitter, lightly sour, medium sourness, light body, medium body, thin feel, oily feel, fizzy, lively, average carbonation, astringent, bitter,
3.0 (canne-mélasse, fruit blanc, bouche trop amère, ipa-impossible, no subtilité, ça accroche partout, perturbe)
3.5 From Decervecitas. Bottle. In Teku glass. Playing Life is Strange Before the Storm. 8 months after bff (my fault) Piney and very bitter. Not bad but its noticeable that the hops are old and a bit oxidized. To repeat fresher
3.8 Bottle on sale from Albert Heijn Gorinchem, The Netherlands. The beer is amber colored and has a large and stable broken white foam, with good carbonation. The aroma is malty with notes of caramel and hoppy, with notes of citrus, flowers, grapefruits, pines and spices. The taste is medium bodied and starts with caramel and honey sweetness and goes to bitter with notes of citrus, grapefruits, pines and spices. The finish is dry and pretty bitter. Good IPA, but not as fruity as expected.
3.1 Out of the can. Reddish amber with Lacy head big malty biscuity flavour with a bitter hoppy takeover. Not much aroma
3.8 Blik 33cl thuis. Hop (Columbus, Cascade), honingzoetje, ananasbitters, droge nadronk, caramel, citrus. Aparte combi. (4-2017).
3.8 Ipa classique, pas écœurante, nez très discret. Très belle amertume
