Wygląd: Barwa ciemno miedziana z czerwonymi refleksami, lekko opalizująca. Piana beżowo - żółta, średniej wysokości zbudowana z drobnych oczek, opada do ostatniej trwałej warstwy pozostawiając lacing na szkle.
Aromat: Na pierwszym planie jasny karmel uzupełniony o nuty toffi, herbatników, biszkoptów i skórki chleba. W tle trochę chmielu, żywiczno - ziołowego z akcentem cytrusów. Całość wsparta nutą estrów daktyli i fig oraz leciutkim szlachetnym alkoholem whisky i niuansem wanilii, która z czasem staje się odrobinę wyraźniejsza.
Smak: Tak jak zapowiadał aromat ale z większym udziałem chmielu. W ustach słodkawe, pełne. Treściwość średnia w stronę niskiej, aksamitna na języku, wysycenie niskie. Goryczka wysoka, choć nie tak jak w wersji podstawowej, żywiczna z akcentem cytrusów, średniej długości, przyjemnie zalegająca. Finisz słodki, żywiczno - cytrusowy z lekkimi nutami melanoidynowymi, po chwili powolnie narastającej goryczki.
Ogólnie na plus nieprzesadzona słodowość i powoli narastająca, przyjemnie, średnio zalegająca goryczka, czysto żywiczna, fajnie współgrająca z teksturą piwa. Na minus w aromacie marginalny udział chmielu, w smaku jest ciut lepiej oraz beczka na granicy autosugestii.
2.5 yr old bottle in Dresden. Still very bitter, a bit too harsh for my palate. The barrel aging is still quite strong though. Tough to make a malt body that balances such intense bitterness.
Nose: malt, some red fruits, vanilla
Taste: grapefruit, orange peel, malt wasn’t strong here. Carbonation is moderate, mouth feel is more towards watery, alcohol flavor is perfectly hide behind the orange peel bitterness. Feels more like a grapefruit juice than a 8.1% beer? Where’s the bourbon?
Aftertaste: medium long with lime peel kind of bitterness.
The bourbon barrel influence wasn’t that strong here. Taste more like a weak IPA. It’s wasn’t bad, just wasn’t exciting or complex.

Aromat nikły, trochę karmelu, trochę pumpernikla (?), trochę też jakby słaby drink z whisky. W smaku niewiele się dzieje, trochę karmelu, ciemne pieczywo. Średnio intensywna, ale długo zalegająca goryczka, nieprzyjemna. Nasycenie niskie.
Dla fanów to, nie dla mnie. Przewaga beczki, zdominowała jeszcze bardziej, niż to bywa w barley wineach. Beczka piękna. Podstawa dla entuzjastów, nie wiem, jak to można lubić. W sumie ciekawe, że wyszla nawet delikatna kawka.
Butelka. W aromacie słodycz od beczki, dość intensywna. W smaku dominują nuty beczkowe, bazowe piwo chowa się gdzieś w tle. Dobre, choć trochę czegoś brakuje.
The oak gives a nice twist to the bastard.It also smoothens the beer and hides some of its freshness. Not better or worse, but different.

Prominent hop
Tap. Aroma- well balanced composition of clear vanilla from bourbon barrel, subtle red fruits, some maltiness, which doesn't disturb and subtle coffee. Dark amber, clear, with almost no head. Taste- again barrel ageing plays the main role, then come some coffee and a bit caramel notes. In the aftertaste, there's a long-lasting vanilla. Low bitterness, medium-bodied, with a low carbonation. Interesting beer, different to the Barley Wine.
Amber/red, beige head.Malt and light alc nose. Blended complex palate, malt,alcohol and hops, all in medium strength.. Wow !
Bottle courtesy Fratto. 2015 or 16 bottle. Fairly clear. Some haze. Amber color with some reddish tints. Beige head. Some pine notes, but old needles. Has a bourbon element to it but comes across as musty. Dry finish, lingers. Some sweetness. Brown sugar glaze. Doesn't appear to have aged well.
Aromat czysta beczka po burbonie. Rodzynki i wanilia. W smaku tez bardzo beczkowo, spora goryczka. Trochę wanilii. Goryczka zalegająca mocno. Jak za 15 zł - dobre piwo. Ale goryczka przeszkadza.

W aromacie bardzo mocno wanilia, wchodzaca nawet w kiszonke. Slodki, przyjemny, intensywny. Barwa miedziana, piana ladna. W smaku polwytrawne, drewniane, taniczne, delikatnie waniliowe. Brakuje ciala. Goryczka niska do sredniej, wysycenie niskie, alkohol dobrze ukryty. Aromat super, cialo do poprawy.
Löylykadulla jouluaattona 2018. Enjoyable strong ale, some aroma from the bourbon barrel can be felt.
Resin, malty, some bourbon, grassy notes, reddish with a good ocher head, medium body, average carbonation, taste is similar, malty, very bitter, again some grassy notes...not bad.
Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from Total Wine & More, Danvers. Appearance is lightly hazy dark brown with red hue, very nice sparkle, 1/2-finger width foamy beige head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is bourbon, caramel, char. Taste is bourbon front-and-center with caramel, fruit, brown sugar, and dark bread emerging late. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average-to-lively carbonation with finish as taste. Overall, bourbon overshadows the base beer just a tad--perhaps would have benefitted from a little more age (5 months from bottling date). Still enjoyable.
Subtiel Bourbon met vanille en wat fruitigheid.... zeer moutig, flink mider hoppy als de non BA versie.... maar wel flink bitter met mooie fruitge tonen. Beetje hout/Oak nog in de nasmaak. Lange nasmaak en lange nabitter. Goed spul!

Light unclear medium brown amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, coffee, wood, bourbon, alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, coffee, dried fruit, bourbon, sweet malt, sugary. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160811]

Autumn tap sampler at StoneBerlin NOV2018. - - BA takes off the pectinous resin aggressive edge off the base ArBastard and dunks them in crowdpleasing caramel liquor and vanilla, withoutthe bourbon becoming all too apparent. Result is caramel-coated fruit cubes, locum, a hint of berry schnaps, before more readily recognisable bourbon starts to come through. The tasty surprise is how the basic Stone-trademark dry citrus freshness comes through near the finish to give this another lift. Hybrid and non-essential, but still well done.
Bottle 33 cl. Aspect : brun clair un peu trouble et belle mousse beige. Nez malté, fruits noirs, caramel, chocolat, un peu l'alcool. Bouche plutôt effervescente, peu de corps, goûts de caramel, de fruits, herbes, bourbon et une + que moyenne amertume. Le passage en tonneau de Bourbon ne se fait pas trop sentir, je trouve.
Zapach: karmelowy, ciemny chleb, trochę wanilii i kokosa w tle, delikatna tanina, umiarkowanie intensywny i dosyć ciekawy. Smak: karmelowy, lekko ściągająca taninowa umiarkowana do wysokiej goryczka, cytrusy i delikatna kwasowość. Dosyć solidny Ale jednak trochę zbyt arogancki ;)
To piwo to po prostu esencja beczki po Bourbonie. Jeżeli ktoś nie pił nigdy piwa postarzanego w ten sposób, albo zastanawia się co beczka może wnieść, to jest to pozycja dla niego. Beczka jest tu tak ewidentna i przejmująca całe piwo, że wręcz ordynarna. W aromacie wanilia, wiśnie w czekoladzie, taniny, troszkę nut drewnianych, słodko. Piwo ciemno-rubinowe, wpadające w brąz, z ładną pianą. Niestety jednak, pływają w nim farfocle, które zdecydowanie apetycznie nie wyglądają. W ustach wielki szok - to jest piwo "dry to the bone". Absolutny brak jakiejkolwiek słodyczy. Smak bardzo analogiczny do aromat, po prostu bourbonowa beczka. Nie mam pojęcia jak ma smakować podstawka tego piwa. Na minus baaaaardzo długi, goryczkowy finisz, męczący.

It pours dark red with an inch of off white foam, lots of sticky lacing.
I get notes of Bourbon, brown sugar, aggressive hop bitterness, caramel malt in the smell.
The hoppiness and Bourbon are battling for palate dominance in the taste. Brown sugar and caramel add some sweetness. Brown sugar tastes burnt at various times during the session. The alcohol is hidden pretty well.
Mouthfeel is good.
I like it but I prefer the regular Arrogant Bastard.
Rich toffee, caramel, malt and bourbon. Tastes like a rich boozy red IPA. Some orange rind and kumquat. Pleasant and quite drinkable with a strong aftertaste
