Asahi Super Dry

Asahi Super Dry

Pasteurised bottle.

Asahi Super Dry was a direct result of extensive market research which indicated a consumer preference for a more palatable beer with less maltiness, relatively high alcohol content and a light aftertaste, that paired well with the changing Japanese diet. With this insight Asahi used its brewing knowledge to develop a beer with a crisp bite, refreshing taste and clear finish to satisfied this requirement. Code named project FX, Asahi engineered a highly attenuated, highly carbonated pilsner. The later renamed product, Super Dry began sales on March 17th 1987 and gave birth to the dry beer category. The market success spawned similar competitor products and initiated what was known as the “Dry Wars” in Japan and a brief marketing fad for dry beers internationally. However Asahi has stood the test of time and now years later Super Dry continues it legacy as the world’s premier dry beer.

Special Yeast - Asahi # 318 is the proprietary ingredient used to give Super Dry its “dryness”. This special strand of yeast produces high attenuation during fermentation in conjunction with the choice grains.

Finest Ingredients – Asahi uses select grains and hops sourced worldwide based on strict criteria to maintain flavor consistency and promote sustainability. Barely with high starch content and both noble style bitter and fine aroma hops are key contributors to Super Dry’s smooth taste.

2.6 At least, there's no harsh/off-flavours. What's there is good, but it's watery and only tastes of mild, sweet lager malt. Dry finish.
2.2 Barva svetle zlatava. Pena nizka, trochu vrstvicka zustava. Vune sladova, trochu kartonu. Chut sladova, telo pehke az vodove. Horkost nizka. Dojezd suchy, dojezd trochu kysely trochu ocas - asi ta rejze s kukurici. Plus minus eurolezak.
2.1 Ganska tråkig pilsner
2.7 Golden with quickly disintegrating white head. Nose of pleasant sweet malty notes Watered down mouthfeel. Hints of sweet malt with A dry finish. Decent , but a bit too watery
3.3 Bland smell, taste Taste of yeast, bread, wheat and barley. Refreshing taste.
2.7 Basic drinking beer that you find everywhere in Japan. You will likely drink this in japan.
4.1 Crisp
5.0 Alko 5.2%. Mimo niezachęcającego składu piwo dobre, taki eurolager z pilsowymi aspiracjami, zupełnie w porządku. Tylko objętość butelki mogłaby być prawilna a nie jakieś 0.33, ale cóż :)
5.0 Dry with a hint of bitterness refreshingly tasteful
2.3 AR: hopfig, malzig, Stroh AP: glanzfeines goldgelb TA: hopfig, malzig, Stroh
2.9 Its alright, good with chicken
2.2 Enjoyed: Poured from a bottle into lager glass. Appearance: Clear golden colour, medium head which soon fades. Aroma: Malt, grains, citrus, hops. Palate: Light to medium body, light to medium carbonation. Taste: Malt, grains, gentle citrus, gentle hops, dry bitter aftertaste. Overall impression: Usual industrial lager; drinkable while cold. Note: Brewed by Birra Peroni? Earlier Rating: 3/3/2020 Total Score: 2.2 Enjoyed: Poured from into mug. Appearance: Clear golden colour, short-lived head. Aroma: Malt, grains, hops. Palate: Light body, gentle carbonation, dry finish. Taste: Malt, hops, gently bitter aftertaste. Overall impression: Good enough, drinkable, might be refreshing (while cold) but nothing special at the end.
3.1 Pale gold, healthy center upstream bubbles. Moderate white frothy head that tails off. Cereal nose. Dry not bitter taste. Think sourdough flavor. Remaining on the tongue a yeasty with mild tangy chill. This version 5.2% - adequate warming. Even, modest finish.
3.2 Good, would buy again
2.1 Aroma of corn, malt, biscuit. Taste of malt, corn. Nothing special, typical pale lager
2.2 Un goût amère, assez plat, décevant.
2.7 Light amber color, medium white head which disipates quickly, medium carbonation bubbles. Aroma weak acidic Weak, watery bitternes, weak sweetness also, little bittery aftertaste.
2.7 Thin beige head on a golden coloured body. No aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a sharp back. Sweet citrus, peach, malt & confectionery tastes with a lightly hopped fruity finish. Tastes like an IPL.
2.7 Golden colour with low head. Hay aroma. Dry malty taste with some bitterness lingering.
2.5 Pours a golden color with a quickly disappearing head. Very little smell. Flavor is not remarkable and smooth an easy drinker
3.0 660ml bottle at 5.2% at the Wibbas Down Inn, Wimbledon. Pours clear pale golden with a white head. Aroma of malt and apple. Smooth taste and finish.
3.0 Bu à SFO MENSHO Tokyo
2.9 0.33 l can from 'Kaufland', 5.2% abv, brewed in Italy, best before October 2022. Clear, golden with a medium large, foamy, stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly malty, minimally grassy-spicy aroma of grains, some straw and traces of lemon peel. Gently sweet, slightly malty, moderately bitter, a little grassy-spicy taste of grains, some straw, traces of honey and a touch of lemon peel, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately dry finish. Thin to medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Decent Lager.
