Color amarillo cobrizo, cristalina. Dos dedos de espuma con retención media. Aroma a malta tostada, caramelo y notas terrosas. Gusto a cereal en grano, cereal tostado, pan integral, caramelo, azúcar moreno, inicio de trago dulce y final amargo y seco. Cuerpo acuoso. No es el concepto que tengo de Rotbier pero me ha sorprendido bastante, el cereal como único protagonista.
# 1640; 11/2019. Grainy and herbal aroma. Flavor is strong unpleasanty herbal bitternees. Bad helles. 0,3 l bottle, restaurant, Berlin.
Pours clear reddish copper color. Small and quicly disappearing head. Sweetish and fruity aroma with a hint of spices. Taste is sweetish too with fruits and a hint of caramel. Finishes with a hint of phenolic flavour and dryish touch of alcohol. (Poured from a 0,33 l bottle)
0,33 l bottle. Clear dark golden nearly copper in the glass, two finger head. Low grassy grainy smell. Taste is malty, caramel, little bit fruity in the background. Some grainy bitterness in the second row. Spicy. Better than expected.
Tight white head stayed on highly carbonated light amber coloured body.
Caramel aroma.
Medium bodied, creamy over the palate with a carbonated back.
Well balanced malt & hops with a fruity finish.
Not to bad - great to sink a few watching the football!

Copenhagen 5/5 2018. 33 cl bottle from Edeka, Damp. Little chubby bottle with red label giving it a slightly pornographic feel. Astra's strange logo with an Anchor and a Heart having intercourse on the label. Pours clear, golden yellow with small white head. Settles as thin transparent layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is rather sweet and malty. Caramel, sugar with a very light hint of something roasted. Medium carbonation. Slightly thick texture. Flavor has pronounced sweetness followed by light bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and fairly short. Solid but also rather generic.
Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is grains, sweet, papery. Taste is the same. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Too sweet, too boozy.

Bright blond colored beet with a good white cup, medium carbonation.
Tastes malt, bread, slightly metallic, light sweetness.
330ml bottle bought at Pi Pa Po. Shared with Finn. Two- finger thick head, bubbly, spotty lacing. Clear amber body. Cereal nose with a touch of cardboard. Hints of mid-sweet pale malts to the taste profile, discreet notes of oily hops. Cardboard to the ending. Very standard stuff. (Hotel room, Berlin 12.01.2018).
Ar: slodko, slodowo, karmel, troche kwiatow i diacetylu niestety, nieco ziolowosci chmielu, intensywnosc niewielka, mile sladowe alko. Wyg: ciemne zloto w bursztyn z lekka nuta czerwonosci, piana ok, ultra drobnoziarnista, super lacing. Sm: wysycenie srednio-wysokie, zaznaczona ziolowosc chmielu i lekka goryczka, slodkawo, poczatkowo mocno slodowe, potem wychodzi chmiel, jest odrobina jakby przypalonego karmelu i cos specyficznego jakby orkiszowego. Pos: slodycz ze slodu, lekka palono-chmielowa goryczka, ale raczej pustawo. Ov: Troche dziwne.
A stronger version of a Helles, not bad in taste, sometimes I found it tasting slightly alcoholic. However, it is a bit too strong to go down as a thirst quencher, also not complex enough to provide for a unique drinking experience of which you might have one after good food. Stuck in the middle.
Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from local 'trinkgut', best before July 2018. Clear, golden amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy aroma of grains, some caramel and hints of straw. Quite sweet, minimally bitter, slightly malty and a little grassy taste of grains, nuts, some caramel and hints of straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy and a bit metallic finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

Clear deep golden brew with a small off-white head on it.
Nose and aroma of caramel, dough, some bread and herbs underpainted by metallic notes, mouthfeel is slick.
Somewhat warming, bittersweet, herbal hoppy finish...
Das Astra Rotlicht schmeckt deutlich besser als das Urtyp: der Malzgeschmack ist süßlich ummantelt, der Alkohol dringt dezent durch und Röstaromen runden den Geschmack gelungen ab.
[Alle gustatorischen Angaben wie immer ohne Gewähr: 1997 führte ein Verköstigungsexperiment mit den guatemaltekischen Pfefferschoten aus Quetzlzacatenango zum Verlust von genau 67.3829% meiner Geschmacksknospen. Dass ich von kleinster Kindheit an mit Pfälzer Rieslingschorle aufgezogen wurde, wirkt sich zusätzlich suboptimal auf meinen Biergaumen aus.]
(bottle) clear deep golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of bran flakes and caramel, heavily grainy, with a light touch of roasted malts and bleach. flavour is more grainy pale malts and burnt bread crusts, slightly metallic, with a hint of canned artichokes and a light-bitter herbal-hoppy finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.
Bottle from Jungfernsteig station, Hamburg. Don’t like lager in these types of bottle. Sorry about that. Dull beer: cardboardy, monotone, faintly harsh. Nothing to lift it up.
zapach lekki, trochę stare słody, kurz, lekka piwnica, w tle trochę zieleni i ziół. kolor złoty, dość głęboki, klarowny, piana biała, mało obfita, średnio trwała, ale stara się utrzymywać cienką warstwą. w smaku dość wytrawne, lekkie słody, kurz, mąka i niewiele więcej. goryczka niewielka, lekko pestkowa, lekko garbnikowa i ziołowa. nasycenie średnie do średnio wysokiego.

13.03.18 in Hamburg, 33 cl bottle, bb 11.11.17. A dark yellow clear beer with a thin white foam layer. Smell iss light malty, somewhat sweet and fruity, but mainly paper. In the taste a light sweetness, but fast a dominated hop bitter, which feels like harsh bitter. The body is full. After a while also sticky sweet. Unpleasant finishing taste.
Bottle poured into lager Glass. Nose, metallic, upfront malty. Taste is caramel, brown shugar, malty, bready, to herbal. Finish is quite bitter. Decend for a 0,65? beer...
Bernsteinfarben dunkles Bier mit zunächst dichtem Schaum und räuchrigem Malzaroma. Wenig Aroma. Zwar schmeckt es nicht unbedingt wässrig, aber sehr mild. Herbe Malznoten mit etwas Brotgeschmack verlieren sich bald im trockenen Geschmack.

Pilsnerfärgad klar med vit skum som försvinner snabbt. Doftar och smakar spannmål och lite citrus humle. Helt ok lager
Bottle. Aroma and taste are minimal and dull. Hops are overshadowed by sweet malts. It’s way too sweet and even worse than Astra Urtyp.
