Avery duganA

Lupulin Rapture Incarnate! As fervent devotees of hops, we found ourselves on a quest to create a transcendental IPA capable of quenching our voracious lupulin desires. Our mantra became “unity of bitterness, hop flavor and aroma.” Enlightened, duganA IPA was born: A brutally bitter, dank, piney and resinous ale designed for those seeking a divine hop experience.

4.0 Poured from 2 bombers, slightly hazy copper orange. Bitter, gritty oily, hoppy, sweet, and strong.
4.4 Honey, flowers, citrus are dominant in the aroma with some notes of pine. Taste is a good mix of malt, grapefruit, pines and honey. Everything is more contrast and explosive compared to, for example, Hardcore IIPA from BrewDog. This beer is really bitter. Every IBU unit is noticeable all the time. But this high bitterness level is not disgusting, but magically pleasant.
3.8 Aroma - caramel malts and heavy piney hops, as well as citrus. Appearance - hazed orange body with an off white that reaches high and slowly fades. Good lacing. Taste - the flavor is a sweet caramel malt with a healthy dose of piney hops as well as a blend of citrus. Palate - body is medium, the texture is oily, average carbonation, and a long strong hop bitter finish.
3.4 Pours a copper with some orange and a thin white head. Aroma citrus pine, and grapefruit. Flavor bitter with pine, fresh citrus, caramel and grapefruit
3.4 Pours a cloudy, bright golden-yellow, with minimal head. Lots of carbonation in this one. Aroma smells of apricot or spoiled peaches, with a touch of hops. Flavor is very sweet (almost verging on barley wine sweetness), with apricot/peach, some hops, slight booziness, and a slightly bitter finish. Not particularly piney, dank, or resinous in my experience.
2.5 Lasting white foamy head that dissipates to the edge of the glass. Paint stripper aroma. Angry clementines. Not terribly good.
3.4 65 cl bottle @ hotel room, San Diego. Bottled 10/2014. Pours hazy golden color with a small head. Sweet piney caramel aroma, hops are a bit mild, some apricot notes too. Orange on the flavor, resin, malts and apricot. A bit old, low carbonation, decent flavor though. 4414
3.5 65 cl bottle @ hotel room, San Diego. Bottled 10/2014. Aroma has resiny tones, tropical fruits and sweet malty mites. Flavour has resin, tropical fruits, caramel and mild herbal bitterness. Also mild menthol. Could have been better fresh.
3.4 650 ml bottle. Enjoyed at San Diego, CA. Pours a hazy orange amber colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of sweet orange marmalade, floral notes and biscuit. Flavour is rather sweet and jammy with orange sweetness, herbal notes, English toffee, resin and biscuit. Medium bodied. Low-ish carbonation. Alcohol warms. Bottled about 10 months ago. Re-rate needed from a fresh batch.
3.7 Bottle. Pours a clear orangish gold color. Aroma and taste are citrus and fruity hops with a good malty backbone.
4.4 Bomber From the copper door. Pours a light golden color. Thick white head. Scent is hoppy, piney. Taste is sweet, dank, hoppy. Good ipa.
3.9 22 oz. bomber poured into a pint glass. Pours a deep golden color with a white fluffy head. The head lingers a bit leaving substantial lacing. Wonderful aroma. Very fresh and hoppy. Citrusy and a bit piney. Nary a hint of malt. Taste disappoints a little compared to the nose. The hop flavor isn’t as pronounced. It’s not overly malty, but the sweetness is just a bit too much. The aroma led me to believe it would be a wonderfully hoppy beer and the taste is kind of a letdown. Low carbonation gives it a creamy feel. Medium bodied. Good, but in the end it’s too malty to be all that great.
3.8 Malty sweet aroma with a bit of a pine resiny hop aroma, but it almost gives it a bit of a tropical finish to the aroma. Taste is very malty but somehow not sticky. Piney hops balance the malt very nicely. Has the bitter resinous finish, but it is muted by the malt. There is a bit of medicinal hops in the finish as well. This is a full flavored malty IPA, but surprisingly good, and I tend to not like the piney ipas, I think the balance between malt and hops helps with this one.
3.7 Hazy , deep golden color. Big off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruits and pine , but some weird funky notes make it messy and dirty. Great , bold , hoppy , Avery's bitterness in taste , balanced by sweet, caramel malt.
1.5 UH; OH LET ME TELL YOU IM’ SICK AN TIRED OF F THESE WEEK ASS DUBBEL IPAS THAT DONT EVEN DO THEY’RE OWN HOPS. I LET ME TELL YOU SOME BACK=STORY TO MY LIFE AS A CRAFT BEERS COONEISSUEURE? I UNDERSTAND SOME SESSHIONS SOMETIMES, BUT DONT CHARGE ME 8 DOLLARS FOR iPA AND NOT GIVE TO ME 200+++++ IBU.
3.6 Wow, I can?t believe I?ve never rated this... Candi sugar, brown sugar, citrusy hops. Deep gold color, clean complexion. Malty and more sweet than hoppy, orangey citrus, a bit of bubblegum; alcohol fairly hidden considering the alcohol. Medium to medium full, smooth. Seems like this might be the precursor to the new IPA/Trippels that seem to be all the rage now.
4.1 It pours a cloudy golden orange with an off white head that leaves considerable lacing. It has aromas of dried fruit and caramel. It has a sweet taste that features caramel, dried fruit, and some citrus. It is bitter on the palate, but not overwhelmingly.
3.4 Bottle. Dirty straw coloured body, lasting off white head. Piney hops with earthy undertones, straw like malts, long bitter finish. A bit rough in the finish. Not something I could drink a lot of.
4.6 Bought at Whole Foods Market Fair Lakes Aroma: mango, spruce, Appearance: golden, clear, tan foam, Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness, Palate: full body, creamy, average carbonation, bitter fnish
2.8 Just didn’t like it much. Funky nose and taste. Maybe it is just due to the cold that I have.
4.7 This is one of my favorite Imperial IPA’s. No bitter or grapefruit aftertaste, which is a major requirement. Not quite as good as Omegatex, or Ruin Ten, but definitely worth a bottle or two when they go into production.
3.8 On tap at Brass Tap with Audrie, pours a light gold color with s nice head. Nose is hoppy. Taste is deep pine and resin with a good amounting bitterness. Finished in the same tadting notes , with a moderately long bitter finish. Quaff Score 7 / 10
3.8 Bold hoppy bitterness mixed with nice fruit notes. Nice creamy taste, very nicely balanced.
3.2 Bottle pour. Cloudy golden with large off white head and good lacing. Citrus, grapefruit, and light pine aroma. Creamy medium body. Pine, grass and a light bitter aftertaste.
3.8 22 oz bottle pours a clear golden orange with large white head and good lacing. Aroma is full of citrus hops, mango and pine resin. Taste is bitter but thankfully not too dank. There is only a slightly sweet malty backbone in the middle. Body is much lighter than I expected from a DIPA, with average carbonation and a slightly soapy mouthfeel. This one didn’t take as long for me to finish as I thought it might. One of the more refreshing DIPAs I’ve tried, and one I’l come back to.
4.3 A nice citrus hoppy aroma hits you when you first open the bottle. There is a good balance between the pine, citrus and hops when it comes to the flavor. This brew is a lot thinner than expected, which is great. I will be stocking up on more of this.
4.1 Very hoppy and not at all malty in any sense of the double ipa definition. It isn't super thick, but there is a nice substance to the beer. It has a bit of a bite in the aftertaste and isn't super smooth. Wouldn't order again, but it has satisfied my hop craving.
4.0 Poured from bomber....first brew from this brewer..nose is fruity with a little hops and malt tossed in...maybe a dash of pine...mouth is delicious...very smooth...almost like two hearted in the smooth finish...very nice...really enjoyed.
3.8 Pours a clear rust orange with white head and carbonation. Has a citrus (mango) and light fruit malt aroma. A heavy mango hop, pine, and fruity malt taste. A lingering bitter hop aftertaste and some sour notes from the fruit.
4.1 Pours golden with filmy white head that leaves nice lacing. Aromas are quite dank with hints of sweetness. Flavors are dank and hoppy but incredibly smooth... Oh... This is really good
