Brazenly bitter. Dashingly dry-hopped. Raja is an audacious addition to our lengthy lineage of intrepid IPA’s. Hops for all! All for hops!

3.9Pale golden with a white head - Tropical and citrus hops in the aroma - Malt body with a good hop profile that is fruity with tropical flavours, citrus and some hints of herbal pine that is bitter - The flavours from hops goes into the finish that ends dry - This was good
3.8Extremely cloudy pour that approaches unfiltered in density that is dull yellow gold. Outstanding head volume, lacing and retention.
Outstanding nose of not quite sweet tropical fruit (pineapple, light mango) coupled with orange zest and a touch of grapefruit. Light alcohol note.
Medium body that is smooth with a light oily touch. Outstanding carbonation / body balance. The middle provides a prickly effervescence while the finish is finely bubbled and quite lively. It’s not quite rollicking but it comes close.
The flavor profile is very good. Flavors never separate well but the blended effect is quite nice. The flavors of the nose are present. Tropical fruits control the middle, which has a touch of sweetness. Bitterness is moderate and is composed of zest and pine. From the middle on, grapefruit zest leads then yields to pine as the finish approaches. Near the finish, alcohol becomes uncovered and delivers a medicinal aspect coupled with light astringency. The finishes lingers and is a mix of zest, pine and medicinal alcohol.
3.2Satisfying bitterness offset by an outsized sweetness. Starts with an immense dose of caramel malt, giving the beer a sugary base that makes the ensuing citric-tropical hop notes almost grow cloy in their prominence. Lots of orange and mango in the middle, and the finish grows piney and resinous, but the sweetness never abates, turning the fade almost medicinal in its palate-scouring IBUs. Grows a bit astringent, too, the feel a bit harsh for an 8% beer. Maharaja’s the way to go.
3.3A very malty aroma, look really nice with a 2-3 finger head. The taste is malty, bitter and very heavy (some alcohol gets through). A bit odd being an IPA. A very nice experience indeed.
3.6On can from Vinmonopolet Strømmen, on order. Golden cloudy color, good foam. Medium high aroma intensity; hops, fruitiness, caramel and some toffee. Medium full body & complexity . Some sweetness, ok bitterness and balance . Very enjoyable

3.8Can from Vinmonopolet, Kvadrat (4 months after canning), enjoyed at Gunnarsbu after the seniors are put to bed... Pours cloudy golden with an inviting creamy white head on top. Aroma of ripe tropical fruits, apricot ans some sweet marmelade malts with piney notes. Taste is good dry bitter, resiny and fruits, good smooth creamy mouthfeel, lingering malty resinous and delicious.
4.0Very hazy pale amber body with a creamy, dense, very long-lived, egg-white-coloured head that laces the glass well. Strong aroma of slightly overripe tropical fruits and caramel, with orange marmalade, red berries and spices in the back. Strong flavour that follows the aroma. Moderate sweet taste with a long-lasting and quite heavy bitter resinous finish. Full body, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Brilliant!
[35.5 cl can, enjoyed 11 months after canning, from Vinmonopolet Online]

4.0Can. Pours a lemon light gold colored pour with an ephemeral white to beige head. Nose is deep pleasant citrus with grapefruit, peach and assorted tropical fruits. Taste is bitter with strong bittersweet citrus and much softer pine and resin. Finishes very well on the bittersweet citrus notes with good lacing and a dry moderately long finish. Great DIPA...quaff Score 8 / 10
3.8Pours a copper-golden with a white head. Piney hop aroma. Piney hop flavor with a big malt body and some light fruity notes.
Notes: On tap at yard house at the Linq, Apr ’17
3.30.355l can. This one pours a quite good looking bright orange cloudy looking body. On the top there’s a big lasting and quite lacing white near fluffy head. It smells quite nice also. Lots of apricot sweet and fruitiness. Pine, marmalade and a little sap. Nice and sharp aroma. Feel it’s not quite where a DIPA should be on the mouthfeel, but it’s nice and average on the carbonation. Lots of sharp citrus on the taste. Piney and a little tea like in the finish. Lemon tea. Easy to drink for the abv and quite enjoyable. 08.04.2017

4.0Oransje farge med høyt hvitt skum. Aroma av grapefrukt, ananas og annen tropisk frukt. Smaken er mildt bitter, grapefrukt mm. Medium konsistens, semibitter ettersmak.
3.9355ml can. Cloudy, dark yellow-ish, bright golden colour with average to huge, creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, white head. Citrusy and tropical fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of pineapple, lemon, passion fruit, yuzu, mandarine, papaya. Taste is tropical fruity hoppy, moderately sweet, minimally sugary, malty backbone, notes of pineapple, papaya, mandarine, orange zest. Crisp, biting bitterness is almost peppery in its intensity. Superb Chutneypa.
3.6Aroma poco fresco, pane appena cotto, agrumi e fiori d’arancia, marmellata.
