3.8 Tap at cock and bull, sarasota. Light golden color, white head. Aroma has some flowers, some sour notes, some sweet fruits. Nice sour and sweet body, belgian yeast notes, some flower notes.
3.7 Light yellow and very clear. Sweet aroma, bubble gum and cherry flavor with a dry finish and some alcohol burning. Nice try, but doesn't quite feel like a proper Belgian Tripel
3.5 Rating #2222 - 2015.12.05- Can #5 in the 2015 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar Pour is pretty standard, hazy golden orange with a bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet grassy, lemon tangerine type citrus sweetness. Mouthfeel is crisp, medium-heavy alcohol character, medium carbonation. Taste is well balanced. Decent.
2.6 Can. Very bad fermented vegetable/fruit nose. Cloudy yellow, offwhite white lace. Light body, dry shit, caramel, roast. Less exiting finish.
3.6 Clear yellow with little white head. Aroma is some butter, citrus, lemon, bubblegum, light fruits, maybe banana, some red berries. Taste is honey sweetness. Not much else. Heavy malty almost spicy stuff in the finish. Not bad.
2.8 (bottle) hazy pale golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of marzipan and cashew nuts, with a hint of powdered sugar, some pear juice and bread dough. flavour is mostly rotten peaches and pale malts, rather sweet and ethanolic, with a touch of müsli and a semi-dry finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.
2.5 Slightly hazy yellow with white head. Aroma has grains, quite cloying yeast character and booze. Taste starts sweet and malty with some sugar and yeast notes. Medium body with smooth mouthfeel. Not really my type of beer.
2.7 Can. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is spicy, some fruits, vegetables, not estery. Taste is more spices, slightly orangey, some malts, quite boozy. Medium carbonation. Not a Tripel at all.
3.0 Canned. Pours a hazy blonde. Aroma has nice note of banana and peach. Bitter alcohol aftertaste
4.1 Devil’s Tramping Ground has a thick, slightly off-white head, a clear, bubbly, burnished-gold appearance, and fairly heavy lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is of strong, sweet barley, yeast, and straw. Taste is of sugary, strong, alcoholic malt, some horse blanket, mild hop bitterness, and white bread crust. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Devil’s Tramping Ground finishes medium dry and boozy. RJT
3.3 Pours hazy dark yellow with medium head. Aroma: candy sugar, peach, citrus, spices. Taste: nice typical tripel taste but very subtle. Palate is nicely hoppy. ABV very well hidden.
3.3 Can. Pours golden orange with a white head. Peachy yeasty notes, some caramel, and anise-like notes, with mild bitterness lingering through the finish. Pretty good.
1.4 A belgian yeasty yeasty belgian yeasty yeasty kind of thing. Its the ’let’s use lots of belgian yeast in this one thang’. These domestic wanna beers rarely have the civility to be a real trippel. And let me tell you, it lacks all kinds of old world courtesies. Go figger. Hey, did I say this was yeasty in smell, and taste? Even cold it comes across with a strong banana attribute. You sure this aint an aged weizenbock? Hey wait, just in case there is not enough banana yeast in this, let me add moor.
3.2 Pours a murky amber with a moderate white head. Nose is malty with bready notes and a hint of coriander. Some nice Belgian funk. Taste is rather sweet. Medium body. Lively carbonation. Decent brew.
3.1 12 fl. oz can. Pours almost clear deep golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of belgian yeast, ripe fruits and pale malt. Taste of sweet and ripe fruits, belgian yeast, some spices and alcohol.
3.4 355ml can. Moderately cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with small to average, foamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, snow white head reminding of beaten egg-white. Fruity and spicy, yeasty aroma, slightly sweet-ish brady and biscuity malty background, notes of yellow stone fruit. Taste is moderately dry hoppy, slightly peppery spicy yeasty, fruity notes of yellow stone fruit, sightly bready, minimally sweet, malty basis. Easy drinkable, well hidden alcohol; kind of a basic, prototype tripel waiting for variation and stepwise refinement.
3.3 Poured a slightly hazy golden yellow with a thin white foamy head. There were a lot of carbonation bubbles rising up in the glass. The aroma was good with lemon citrus and yeasty bread. The beer had a creamy texture. There is a sweet malty initial taste. It was a bit too sweet for me. A slight hoppy flavor comes out in the middle, but not enough to balance the sweetness. The sweetness overpowers on the finish leaving a bit of a honey flavor.
4.5 Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a slightly murky gold color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is mostly malt, bread and some spices (coriander). The taste is an excellent malt rush. The ABV is fairly well hidden.
3.3 From a can. Fresh banana aroma. Cloudy dark orange colour with a small white head. Banana, cloves and spice flavours. Thin to medium body with a sweet finish. Decent brew.
3.4 Single 355 ml can from broken-up Christmas sampler cases from Sobeys Liquor, served in a pint glass. Pours a hazy golden straw yellow, with streams of active carbonation, and a brief milky head. Nose is sweet banana, bubblegum, clove, other very ripe tropical fruit - all standard for a tripel. Flavor has pronounced sweet banana and candy, with a welcome lack of alcohol heat. Goes down like a soft drink. Thin-bodied, and aftertaste lingers very briefly. Very well-done, but not really my thing.
2.5 Can, tasting at Matt’s Blond color, relatively clean, with small head. The aroma is estery and boozy. Sweet and boozy, with shallow flavors, more fruity than spicy. Classic example of fake Belgian mess with the alcohol trying to balance the sugar. Cloying.
2.8 Can - Sweet, lemon and lots of yeast. Clear gold with a decent white. Sweet, grainy, yeasty and an estery finish. Not a fan.
3.0 12 oz. can, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is very floral, with tons of fruity esters, Belgian yeast and floral notes. Flavour is fairly sweet and floral, with lots of Belgian yeast, fruity esters, floral soapy notes and a some alcohol. Finishes floral, alcoholic and fruity. Pretty solid, but far from an authentic tripel. Okay.
2.9 Can to tulip Consummation: Overpowering yeasty lemon shandy. Adjunct: Particulates and effervescence makes it look like a small universe, chalky as a result of the particulates, alcohol is a bit much.
3.4 355ml can, Craft Beer Advent Calendar ’15. Colour is a nice bright yellow, some haze and flecks of yeast settling in the bottom of the glass. Small creamy white cap that doesnt last very long or leave any lacing behind. Nose has light bread, grainy, lemony notes. Taste has some bready sweetness, grains, yeast. Some light hopping at the end, yeasty aftertaste. Some alcohol notes, but drinks easily. Medium body. Not too bad, my first Tripel from a can.
2.5 2015 beer advent. Pours very light, and nicely carbonated. But lacking belgian yeast flavours, bitter citrus (off) flavours, not great for the style.
2.7 Can, craft beer advent calendar 2015. I think this might be my first ever tripel from a can. Light yellow, slightly hazy, thick white head. Yeasty phenols and sweet pale malts, slightly medicinal, overly bitter finish. Simplistic, and a bit harsh actually.
3.1 Pours golden, slight haze. Minimal white head. Aroma: Dough, earthy, leather, clove, hint of toffee. Taste is sweet, earthy, yeasty, faint spice notes. Full body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Long, lingering finish. Not bad, nothing spectacular.
3.4 355ml can pours a slightly hazy golden color with a 2 finger white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruits with some grains with some yeasty and lemony notes. Taste is a lemony tartness with a fruity and malty sweetness and a dry yeasty finish. Light to medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, an interesting flavor profile makes for a decent tripel, but not one of my favorites.
3.2 355ml can from 2015 Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Pours a hazy golden with a small, short lived, white head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of bubble gum, banana, citrus, yeast and grain. Sweet flavour of bubble gum, banana, yeast and citrus with some tartness in a dry, alcohol finish. Medium body with a slick texture and average carbonation. Just ok.
