Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock

Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock

Bottle: Filtered

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, hops, yeast.

A beer that has a dominant malty taste. This beer’s origins in a monk’s recipe are reflected in its heartiness. The Pope of Beers, Conrad Seidl, describes it as: “Almost black with a very slight red tone, a sensational, festive foam and truly extraordinary fragrance that at first summons up visions of greaves lard. The first taste is of mild fullness with an accompanying coffee tone, which becomes more dominant with the aftertaste. There is very little of the sweetness that is frequently to be tasted with doppelbock beer.” The Ayinger Celebrator has been ranked among the best beers of the world by the Chicago Testing Institute several times and has won numerous medals. 18.5°

4.4 Schönes dunkles Bier mit tollen Malznoten.
3.8 Bottiglia.
4.2 Very crisp and clean tasting with a hint of sweetness. Another thing I like about Bocks is the lack of a strong hop taste and bite. Pours a dark brown with a medium tan head. All German beers have a good mouthfeel, none feel really heavy and this is no exception. I really like Bock style beers as they are not overly strong and go well in the Spring or Fall. Purchased at Total Wine & More.
4.2 Dark brown with a tan head and a malty nose. Malty with a smooth mouthfeel and a long, caramel finish.
4.1 From bottle (BB Apr'23) in stein. Pours dark brown w/ruby edges, dense tan head, rich aroma of roast malt, mocha & fruit bread. Smooth & tasty w/balanced finish, uber-nice!
5.0 Optisch tiefschwarz!
4.0 Bottled 4/22. Very dark red with a fat dense coat of beige head. Oozing malty aroma with dark sugars and bread. Smooth with modest carbonation. Malty but only fairly sweet with dark sugars and hints of stewed fruit before bitterness and spices that lighten the load. Has real presence without being too strong and remaining very drinkable.
All'olfatto note di biscotto e miele.

3.9 11.2 ounce bottle of at The Winking Lizard in Copley, Ohio.Sweet malt aroma. Black in color with tan head. Amazing malt taste. Some sweetness. Smooth and medium bodied. Light malt aftertaste. Just a wonderful beer. Cheers!
3.5 Dark brown, almost black, in colour. Taste and aroma of chocolate, coffee, malt and some fruit.

Taste is more dark fruits, fruit cake, caramel, chocolate, a touch smoky and nutty, also a burnt roasty bitterness and a touch of brown sugar on the finish. Medium body, low carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Nice.
