Ayinger Jahrhundert Bier

Ayinger Jahrhundert Bier

This beer was first brewed in 1978 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our brewery. It has a golden-yellow color with a slightly flowery yeast, honey-ish aroma, tastes a little spicy and is full-bodied in initial taste, mild before swallowing and soft with a refined sparkle and fades with a well-balanced hint of bitterness. It is an especially drinkable and harmonious beer. Conrad Seidl, known as the Austrian “Pope of Beers”, on the Jahrhundert-Bier: “It is a malty beer that pronounces the precious earthy quality of malted barley.” 12.8°

3.2 Solid helles. Clear and yellow with a musty grass and floral aroma. Hint of honied sweetness and a light bready finish. Picked up a bottle at Beertopia in 2021.

3.4 Nalewa się jasnozłote, przjerzyste, obfita jasna piana. Zapach miodowo-słodowy, lekko ziołowy, może kwiatowy. W smaku wyraźnie słodowe, wpadające w miód, goryczka ziołowa, przyjemna. Całkiem przyjemne.
3.4 Bottled, 500ml from Kay Gee's Off licence, Didcot, Oxon. Clouded orange gold with white head. There are spicy, malty flavours from the off, baked biscuits and yeasty pear drop flavours. There are herby, thyme like flavours along with a touch of citrus. It's a very pleasant lager beer.
3.6 Bottle. Pours a deep golden with white head. Nose is intense bread, hay and honey with some herbal hops. Taste is nicely rounded bittersweet, showing hay, honey, grass and herbal notes. Closes with a long lasting, intense bittersweet finish, has a medium to full, rich body and average carbonation. Feels bigger than the actual ABV, nice one.

3.8 50cl bottle from online store, drinked on 26 05 2021 BB 10.21 Pours beautiful clear golden with large fluffy white head and lots of lacing. Absolutely great aroma of malt, honey, hay and floral hops, slightly spicy. Taste is clean and fresh with good malt, typical helles sweetness, a pronounced honey and biscuit note, some citrus, and a slightly more bitter and spicy, floral hops finish, a bit more than other helles. Still a very sweet beer but perfectly done. Does taste similarly to the Ayinger Lager Hell so you could get both to try out together. Light bodied, average carbonation, smooth, relaxing and very drinkable.
3.4 Bottle 50 cl. Light golden, fluffy pure white foam. Aroma: excellent noble hops, a little herb and spice, a little malt. Malty taste, a little bit of cookies, pleasant hop bitterness, excellent balance, good lager!
3.8 Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy, pure white head. Lightly sweet with pleasant doughy biscuits, a hint of honey, cereal, straw, very mild floral notes. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Clean finish, a nip of metallic bite, more fresh biscuits, white bread, cereal, hay. Highly drinkable.
3.1 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Clear and pale golden colour, large white head. Nice floral aroma, a hint of honey. Citric / sharpish mouthfeel. The flavour is first distinctly malty, followed by moderate herbal bittering hops.
3.2 Bottle @ Home. Clear straw colored beer with a sticky white head. Has a pleasant white bread base to it but there is a pronounced apple cider ester quality that I’m not really enjoying. Some floral hops, yeast, biscuit dough, and a light spiciness too. Might just be old, but got it from a good source and who tf knows what their dating code is when you’re standing in a shop. Oh well.
3.4 Great helles, not as light as most, but drinkable and super biscuity malt forward. Edeka hamburg
3.1 Light golden color with quite a huge but short lasting head. Aroma of yeast, hops, hint of flowers. Taste is mostly malts, hops, notes of iron. Lightly bitter. Lasting hoppy aftertaste.
3.6 Sattes Gold im Glas, Schaum passt. Herrlich würzig in der Nase, im Trunk ebenso, crispy, herb, Malz, etwas scharf auf der Zunge, leicht bitter spät im Abgang.
