3.7 Bottle from Total Wine in Daytona. Clear bright reddish pour with minor head. Blackberry and clove dominate. Pretty good.
3.4 Sample draft at Bru Craft. Mostly clear very dark red purple pour. No head. Blackberry aroma. Plums. Acacia berries. Caramel. Heavy and succulent. Flavors are balanced but reads too syrupy sweet.
4.0 Aroma - berry, honey, clove, cinnamon, orange zest, and a slight must. Appearance - the body is a clean garnet red. The head is small and quickly rings out. The head is white in color. Very attractive. Taste - has blackberry, clove, cinnamon, orange zest, and honey. There is slight must. Palate - body is medium, texture is viscous, carbonation is soft, finish is sweet and spiced.
3.5 Sampled on draft at Vintage Estate this mead poured a dark red-plum color with a medium sized foamy pink head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. The flavor was berries, honey, nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. Long nutmeg and clove finish. Moderately full bodied. Nice.
4.4 Throw this in a red wine barrel for a few months! This beer is super delicious, looks amazing. Looks like a deep cranberry juice, with purplish, white fluffy/sticky head. A low abv for a mead, but I could definitely see myself slamming a couple of these back with someone who prefers their wine.
3.8 How: Bottle. Where: Haket, Göteborg. Appearance: Ruby colour with a small pink head. Aroma: Blackberries, honey, berries. Body: Medium to full body, low carbonation. Flavour: Blackberries, honey, berries, some caramel.
3.8 Big clove nose. Very easy drinking with mild carb. Not overly sweet, but the fruit is still present.
1.9 6%ABV. Mead. Poured out a clear red-pink, the color of a grape cherry-ade. Nose is vinegary and sweet. Cloying. Mouthfeel is carbonated. Like drinking sour cherry soda. There is a hint of the syrupy sweetness of honey, but this is fleeting. The overall impression is that of a soda. Very approachable. Meads are usually unfiltered, cloudy messes of organic aromas, this one certainly is not.
4.0 Sweetish, scantly tart blackberry (but with also a slight cherry vibe going on) and subtle honey tones spiced sensibly with just the right amount of clove and orange zest, for a zippy added citrusy, fruity hint.
2.2 Bottle@ABC Tavern, Cleveland, USA. Light aroma with berries. Deep red/amber color with small artificial white head and clear liquid. Medium, unbalanced taste with cranberry and cinnamon. Light body with low carbonation. Overall, would be a nice Christmas drink, clear and simple, nothing else.
4.0 Bottle from Systembolaget (privatimport). Fruity smell with berries and what I thought was cherries. Sweet flowery taste with honey and berries. I now realized it was blackberries I felt. The sweetness felt slightly artificial. Still nice though, I liked it.
3.6 KRS 080815. Red dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is cloves, black berries, orange. Flavour is cloves, black berries, orange, honey. Nice beverage.
3.5 Klare dunkel rötlich braune Farbe, geringe weiße schaumkrone. Geruch dezent nach roten Früchten, süß, Honig. Geschmack süß, Honig, Kräuter, rote Beeren.
3.2 Mild fruchtiger Antrunk, leichte Noten von Honig. Süffig, die fruchtigen Noten bleiben konstant, Zimt. Süffig, Gut. 8/9/10/10/10/10
3.9 Pours reddish with no head. The aroma has raspberries, sweetness, honey and is very rich and smooth. It has a medium / full rich slick body with no carbonation. The flavor starts with sweet berries, honey sweetness, cinnamon, clove and has a pleasing kick on the finish. Solid mead.
3.5 Pours a clear red color with white head. Really unique flavor and slightly tart
3.5 500 ml bottle. DeScription meets the taste. Big clove taste followed by sweetness and some orange. Purple color. Clove is big in nose.
3.8 another tasty and unique mead from B. Pirplish pour is good lookin. They manage to make things I didn’t think would work, work very well. The clove in this, the black pepper in mango. The clove makes the sweet honey and blackberry and orange really pop. It would border on too sweet without it but really comes together.
3.5 From a bottle. Pours a clear a clear pale raspberry with a feint white head. Berry nose. Sweet blackberry and honey flavors with some cloves and coriander.
3.2 Pours a garnet from a bottle. Aroma of blackberry, some definite clove. Flavors similar, blackberry jam, clove, only a hint of orange, clove is somewhat strong, jarring, but not off-putting. A little over sweet. Good mead.
3.8 Pours a dark ruby red with no head. Aroma is sweet berries, honey. Taste is sweet berries, honey, has a nice blood orange kind of zest with some clove notes, some mild tart flavor. Palate is a medium body, sweet on the palate without being overbearing. Finish is sweet berries and honey, some mild tart flavor, a nice blood orange zest, with a lingering honey clove ending. Overall a very tasty and enjoyable mead.
3.5 Tap. Pours ruby red with small light pink head. Aroma is yam and christmas. Clove, mead and honey. Taste has an abundance of christmas spices and fruity blackberries. Really fizzy. Reminiscent of glögg. Tart berries in finish.
2.9 This bottled Mead from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of frothy off-white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a uncarbonated semi-transparent purple hued colored body and a poor lacing. The weak aroma was sweet and honey. The crisp mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering sweet aftertaste. The mild flavor contained notes of blackberry red currant jelly cloves orange sweet and honey. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.
3.5 Bottle 500ml @ Geokkjer Pours dark reddish brown with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of honey, blackberries and cloves. Taste is medium sweet with a long blackberry, clove and orange finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. A bit heavy on the clove and reminds a bit of cold mulled wine, but still very nice.
3.4 Bottle. An unclear, dark ruby colored mead with a small, pinkish head. There’s lots of berries in the aroma, cloves as well, and a touch of honey in the back. Some citrus notes in the flavor, with honey notes, dark berries and a good dash of cloves. A bit too much cloves I think, it’s sort of like drinking an unheated gløgg. Nice though. Medium body, smooth on the palate. Long finish with orange zest, cloves and dark berries. Quite decent this one, but a tad heavy on the cloves. 150808
3.7 Bottle. Pours deep ruby red with an off-white head. Aroma of clove, pepper, some berries, honey and blackberry. Flavor is sweet blackberry with some honey, orange zest and clove. Medium body.
3.2 Tap at the source. Pours dark red, almost blue. Aroma is lots of black currant, blackberry and clove. Flavor is intense clove and black currant. Clove is awesome.
4.0 Bottle. Pours a ruby red purple color with soft sudsy head that fades. Aroma is berry honey and soft spice. Taste is sweet berry honey little tart very refreshing and soft spice in the finish. Very enjoyable!
3.2 Darker body than most meads. Sweet, but not overly so. Honey, of course, with an added subtle element of berries and spices. A decent mead.
3.6 Bottle->stem. Clear brite red with no head. A: berries, clove, honey. T: definite blackberry, with sour notes, cloves. Sweet, with hint of pepper in the aftertaste. Like.
