3.7 From notes. Enjoyed this baby at a mead tasting at Chris’s house on October 21 (my birthday!). 375 mL bottle, 2008 vintage. As “Bourbon Barrel Mead” The pour is a nice darker golden orange color. This is definitely still like any mead should be. The aroma is really boozy. There is a candied honey going on and a massive sweetness. The bourbon really pops through on the back end. It’s got a little depth and earthiness, but the alcohol really shines through. The flavor is really excellent. There is a great balance of bourbon, oak, sweet honey, and a lovely light vanilla. I like it. It’s really balanced from front to back, and the sweetness definitely works well. The mouth feel is light. It’s got the syrupy feel, but it just doesn’t hang around. The aftertaste is honey and light bourbon. This is pretty good. Surprised to get the old tick. Thanks guys! 6 4 8 4 15

4.4 Fles gekocht via firmabier.nl, gedeeld en uitgeschonken in Jura Whisky tumbler glazen. Honinggele, goudoranje heldere mede, zonder carbonatie.
