3.3 Bottle. Pale yellow with no head. Aroma is fruity but also with some plastic amd paint stripper. Taste is very fruity, lychee. Little sweet. Ok
4.3 bottle at home ... at the Lets do a Chris O tasting...thin golden yellow ...soft floral lychee fruits ... juicy floral nose ... juicy lychee fruits ... soft floral fruit ... massive lychee... this is awsome
3.5 Pours extremely pale - almost like water - with a thin white head. Aroma is very floral hops with pine. Taste is initially sweet pine with honey coming through for the mid and the finish. Overall a very pleasant mead.
3.7 a nice honey sweet mead with a champagne carbonation and mouthfeel an appealing dryness and an entirely hoppy ipa aroma and taste is not a half assed brew! it -my friend- is an impressive feat. bit of green apple in there.
3.4 Pours a very light white wine color. A bigger carbonation than I thought it would have. It has somewhat of an off smell. The taste is better with a lot of honey mixed with tropical fruits. A lot of pineapple and peach. At first seems very drinkable but after a little bit of settling not so much. It’s a unique one.
3.0 pale hazy yellow with no head or conditioning. Honey, with a hint of hoppy aroma Apple, pear, honey, and hops are all present in the taste. Small balance, nothing too special
4.1 Bottle, sent to me by Sammy-- thanks! Pale yellow with just the slightest tint of green, very fine carbonation. The aroma is almost the perfect clone of fresh lychee fruit, truly astonishing! The palate delivers strong lychee fruit flavour, floral honey, hints of grass and wax. Light bitterness is present in the dry finish. An amazing beverage, thoroughly enjoyable. Very cool.
3.5 Bottle 500ml. [ As B. Nektar Evil Genius ]. Clear light yellow colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, moderate hoppy, flowers, grass, honey, dry honey, floral honey, champagne brus. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, pear, champagne brus, light honey, wine notes. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. [20140315] 7-2-8-3-15
2.4 Bottle from City Beverage in Winston Salem NC. It’s clear yellow in the glass with no head at all. Honey, pear, and a hint of hops are in the aroma. Apple, pear, honey, and hops are all present in the taste. The hops tried to balance out the sweetness of the honey, but it was really just a clash of styles that I didn’t enjoy.
2.9 I’ve liked previous meads from them, but unfortunately the aroma on this was bad to me - sweaty, wet socks. Poured a very pale color, small fizzy head, some carbonation. Flavor was nice light honey notes, some fruits, a touch of earthy notes.
2.1 Very pale and light yellow, almost waterlike, fading white head. Aroma of pear, champagnelike, weak honey, flowery hops. Flavor is pear, honey, sugar, some weak flowery hops, citrus. Thin body, soft carbonation, sticky sweet finish. 111113
2.3 Clear very pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, honey, sugary, earthy and champagne. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish. Really strange. 111113
2.5 Bottle, 6%. Clear champagne with no head. Aroma is honey, perfume and hop. Flavour is malt, honey, perfume, medium sweet, little sugar and pear.
2.4 Bottle. No head. Color is pale as water. Aroma and taste are pear cider, fruits, dry hops and honey.
4.0 I think this mead better than the score indicates as it is delicious. The hops give it a citrus component that is rounded out by the honey flavor.
2.4 The strangest ipa I have eve had. Really sweet from the honey makes for a awful combination. I really hate this beer.
2.0 Bottle via Michael. Thanks! Pours an almost crystal clear to slightly yellow color with some small bubbles but no real head. Aroma is champagne and cat litter, gross. Taste is fairly nice with a light sweet honeydew, slight honey, dry finish and some bitter to faded hop. Not horrible if you don’t smell it but that smell just pushes it over the top into "gross"
2.1 Pours clear with a white head and sweet, fruity aroma. Taste is sweet, of honey, fruit, sugar, and light hops with a bittersweet finish. Different type of mead, odd mix
2.0 Bottle. Pours an absolutely clear off yellow color. Nose is sweet and slightly tart, amazed by the clarity. Taste is bitter sweet and astringent, not very flavorful. Finish is off as well, fruity and bitter sweet, This will teach me NOT to buy a beer / mead without checking ratebeer first. Ugh Quaff Score 4 / 10
3.2 Bottle: Super clear, almost like water with a slight yellow and green-ish tinge. Almost no head, just a white collar. Aroma is some danky hops, light citrus and some mild honey. Slight dirty, earthy character. Taste is sweet honey with citric and grassy hops with a light peach and citrus character. Pretty tasty, like a sweet pale ale with honey.
2.3 Poured from a cold bottle. Very clear pale yellow color. Lime and apple smell. Mild honey wine with some hops.
3.1 Aroma of lime, taste like a Sauvignon Blanc, with a hint of lime. Palate is mild slightly chalky.
2.5 50 cl. bottle. Pours a very pale gold with no head to speak of. Aroma of honey, citrus, and florals. Taste is the same. Mainly sweet with a bit of hops. Very different.
3.3 shared with friends when we tried making mead for the first time. Nearly clear color, looks like mineral water with light yelow tinge. Aroma is right up front mix of pine and lime with bit of grapefruit rind. Taste is light honey but has a white wine dryness to it. Mead is very different kind of thing.
3.5 Bottle purchased at Siciliano’s. Clear blanc color with a medium white head. Aroma of hops, lime and honey. Honey and lime flavor with a crisp, hoppy finish. I don’t normally enjoy hops in my mead, but this one was different. Maybe the carbonation made me think I was drinking beer or something. Tasty stuff.
2.9 500mL thanks to BSchnab! Sparkling white wine, cider color. Fizzing out foam. Nose is strange, gamey and hoppy chardonnay. Maybe tangelo and Thai orange. Sharp white wine with strange funk. Taste is sweet, some bright white wine funk, but ultimately it’s too cloying with sharp plastic. Carbonation is dead quickly providing no much needed refreshment. Odd for sure.
3.6 First mead I have had and being a ipa guy why not this one. Pour is very clear with a lite yellow color and small white head. Aroma is lite and very pleasing. Flavors are pretty cool starts out a touch sweet and wine like but finishes hoppy and fruity.
3.9 Pours very pale yellow color withthin white head. Aromas of grapefruit and pine. Tastes like Sweet honey, apple flavor with bitter grapefruit rind and pine. Medium body with creamy mouthfeel.
3.0 Bottle. Honey and earthy-floral peachy/mango aroma. Clear pale yellow. Honey and white grape flavor with an underlying slight bitterness. Body on the light side of medium.
