B. Nektar Kill All The Golfers

B. Nektar Kill All The Golfers

We’ve taken the traditional Arnold Palmer and meadified it. "Dry hopped" black tea with honey and fresh squeezed lemon juice. Maybe we should can this one so we can bring it to the golf course.

4.0 B-. Pours a clear golden color with white head. One of the many flavors doesn’t work
3.6 Bottle. Hazy orange color with white head that goes down quickly. Aroma is flower honey, tea,. Taste is tea, peppery, lemon juice, honey sweetness. Ticklish carbonation. The aroma is a bit too "breakfast honey" like for me, but the flavour is excellent. Interesting stuff!
3.2 On tap @ Burger Bordello. Slightly unclear golden body with a very small head that totally disappears. Oily consistence without any carbonation. Aroma is mild honey in a very pleasant way as I’m not too keen on the sticky honey stuff. Flavor is sweet with something fruity and berry kinda flavor. There seems to also be some kind of fruity bitterness present together with a little hint of alcohol. Quite full bodied and sweet with a little bitter touch in the aftertaste. Long lasting aftertaste by the way. Has some interesting subtitle flavors besides the obvious honey flavor. Becomes too sweet after a while.
3.3 Bottle enjoyed at home Copper clear, thin white head. Smell of honey, anise, hints of tea. Moderate sweet, nice honey flavor, a touch of tea, some citrus and spicy elements. All in all quite tasty
3.3 Bottle at home. Pours a crystal clear golden pour with a small white ring. Aroma is flowery honey, herbal tea, lemon, green apples, overripe fruits, light floral hops. Quite a dry almost oaky finish, from the tea? Over medium sweet, medium bitter, light sour. Medium body, under medium carbonation.

3.5 0.5 draft. A clear, dark gold color with no head to speak of. Aroma of fermentation, mead and flowers. Taste is fruity, floral, meady with quite some berries. A medium body, a thick texture, and a flat carbonation. Finish is long and sourer than the rest. Overall the beer is alright - the prickly pear version was better.
4.0 Earthy floral mineral apple pear clear golden slightly sweet. Very wonderful.
3.4 Golden pour. Nose is honey and tea. Taste is sweet honey, some lemon, lots of green pepper. Thin oily mouthfeel.
3.8 500ml bottle thanks to Eric. Pours out a crisp golden no head. Nose is nice tea lemon juice and honey sweetness. Taste is more of the tea lemon aid and a nice honey sweetness.
4.0 Very, very interesting mead. Plenty of honey, some hoppyness and a fair amount of tea. Fun stuff!
3.2 CBC2016. Klare dunkel goldene Farbe, geringe weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch süß, Honig. Geschmack süß, Honig, Trauben, geringe säure.
3.4 @Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016, YELLOW orangw clear. Kinda nice ripe, pears, almost ocertipe on npse, some meadyness beneath. Med bldied, some apple seeds, fruity. Pretty ok. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone Earlier Rating: 4/2/2015 Total Score: 3.2 Bottle. Orange hazy, meady honey, sugary condensed meadowy nose, lots of grassy, floral notes. Dry finish. Strong honey, herby floral. Very intensive flavours, just too powerful for my nimble tastebuds. -- bb

3.5 Tap@ CBC 2016. Amber color, thin white head. Some pear in aroma, ripe apples? As well. Pears, sugars, ripe fruit. Nice drinkability. Quite sweet.
2.9 500mL bottle purchased at RoCo in West Sac. The aroma on this has plenty of tea character with a little bit of sweetness. Fairly floral and herbal in nature. Not sure I am a fan of the aroma, however. Fairly hazy dark golden-rusty body with a small, quite rapidly dissipating white head. Starts with a little sweet honey character, before lots of pretty straight-forward tea flavors take over. This is pretty straight-forward and as close to an alcoholic "Arnold Palmer" that it gets.
4.0 Pours clear golden with a tiny white lace head. Pure honey cent, some elderflower, fruity esters, even some walnut. Tart start, citrus and bitters of the tea coming through beautifully, giving a nice balance to the honey sweetness. Nice soft carbo... Don’t understand the low ratings - yes this goes close to winebut this is very tasteful stuff.
2.8 KRS 311215. Golden-orange colour with no head. Aroma and flavour is honey, citrus, tea, peaches, spices, flowers. Weird mead.
3.0 Bottle from Beergium. Hazy orange pour with no head. Huge raw honey aroma with almost nothing else to it, a little bit like an open bee hive. Hints of black tea and lemon in taste, but honey is still very dominant. Very sweet with a dry honey finish.
3.6 Bottle from Erzbierschof Zurich. And interesting brew indeed! Basis of apple juice throughout, clear black tea as well, giving a nice harmony. A little sour, tart and crisp.
2.9 Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours clear yellow with no head. Aromas of lemon and honey, not getting a lot of tea. Taste is set honey and lemon. Light tannins on the finish. Not my bag.
3.6 Draught@CBC2015. Sweet honey, some spruce, tea leafs and citrus fruits. Flavour is tea leafts, some sweet honey, mild lemon as well as some resiny and mild wooden notes. Very smoothly balanced.
2.1 Backlog: All In Beer Fest, 2015/11/06 This really wasnt for me... Strange flavours from the tea and a bit artificial taste to it.
2.6 Rated on 8-05-2015 - The appearance a hazy pale yellow body and very little carbonation. The aroma is honey, fruity and lemony. The flavor is honey, sweet and has a dry finish. The mouthfeel is smooth and this mead is medium bodied. This mead does not have much aroma and the taste is bland and boring. Overall a boring mead to rate and drink.
2.5 Bottle. Pours hazy deep golden with a tiny off-white head. Aroma of spices, black tea, honey, lemon and apples. Flavor is sweet cold tea with honey an lemon. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.0 Bottle 330ml @ Geokkjer Pours hazy golden without a head. Aroma has notes of tea, honey, citrus and hint of tartness. Taste is medium sweet and light sour with a long tea, citrus and honey finish. Body is medium, texture is oily and no carbonation.
2.9 Bottle. A hazy golden-orange mead with no head and just a little carbonation. Honey, flowers tea and lemon in the nose. Pretty much the same in the mouth, but it feels sort of cloying, and the mix of tea and honey isn’t my cup of tea. Doh... Some peaches, lemon and flowers too. Medium body, smooth, and with a lasting finish. Not a mead I’ll repeat. 151231
3.4 Nice Mead, maybe too tea-y. Clear honey yellow color. Earthy and lemon over the usual honey profile. Pretty mild mead and drinkable.
3.9 Bottle at home. Pours clear orange, nose is beeswax, lemon, taste is dry tea, bitter lemon, juicy honey.
3.0 Der süßliche Antrunk ist verhalten, die Honignoten präsent aber nicht besonders intensiv. Trocken nach Tee, rund würzig, zum Ende hin etwas herb. Stärkere vergorene Honignoten zum Ende, trocken. 6/9/10/9/10/10
