3.5 Tap at beertemple, amsterdam. Dark red color, no head. Aroma has cinnamon, some fruity notes, some apples. Nice fruity taste, blackberries, some cinnamon. Tastes like christmas.
3.6 Bottle in Seattle. Big thanks to Chris for sending this our way. Dark, brown color with orange highlights, a few bubbles with the pour. Nice dark mulling spices on the nose, orange peel and a light sweetness. Cool, moderately sweet sip with nice chai spice and deep cinnamon and cardamom mulled wine flavors. Deep fruit. Lightly cloying. Great flavors in good balance.
5.0 Sweet fruity with a bit of spice. Great scent! Very easy to drink.
3.1 500 ml bottle from Valli Produce in Rockford, IL, consumed a few minutes out of the fridge from a White Winter Winery glass. Lovely chestnut-bronze color, clear, bubbly, little evident carbonation when cap is popped and the tiny ring of foam instantly dies...the tea/chai aromatics dominate in the first whiff of the nose, apple and a bit of ginger and vanilla come out eventually; it's a bit reminiscent of the spiced apple ginger ale from Reed's...tingly, spicy on the tongue, here's where the ginger bit really dominates, with a lightly vinous character towards the finish; somewhat more acidic than I'd like, moderately sweet throughout but a little drier at the end...lightly syrupy, little carbonation on the palate. Interesting but not likely something I'll try again.
3.6 Botella. Light brown colour. Sweet aroma, pleasant, fruity apple tea spiced aroma. Good mouthfeel. Sweet fruity apple spiced tea flavour, soft. Nice!
3.6 Tap. Pours clear chestnut, minimum head or lacing. Aroma is apples, cinnamon, spices, clove. Flavor is medium sweet, minimal bitterness, spiced apples. Medium body.
3.4 Bottle. Brownish color with small white head. Aroma is chai spice all the way. Taste is chai, chocolate, apple pi, cinnamon. Fizzy carbonation. Good if you like Chai!
4.0 Brown without head. Aroma is chai spices, cinnamon, apfelstrudel, cream. Taste is sweet apfelstrudel as well. A bit unfresh but very very nice. Perfect pie.
3.5 Bottle. Pours cloudy dark amber. Aroma is cinnamon, chai, ginger, spices. Body is medium, starts a lot like a chai and then turns into apple cider. Dryish tea palate. Odd. Good, but not something I would drink a lot of.
2.4 Bottle. pours brown tea colored. Smells like chai tea, no apple. Tastes like carbonated chai tea, some apple. These flavours mix very poorly for my taste.
4.0 Bottle at home. Pours deep reddish, nose is tea, cinnamon, clove, apple, taste is juicy apple, spiced, dry tea.
3.4 Mbcc red. Light brown. Bruised apples on nose. Bit overripe autumny sweet. Med bodied, quite easy, light watery flavour. Nice. Not as nice as the apple pie tho.
3.2 Bottle from Wegmans, and I am rating this one blind, as I do not want my love of or dopplegangilarity to Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski to influence my rating in any way. And away we go: The cap pops loudly with heavy froth and circumstance (Cue Macho Man Randy Savage). Nose is like apple pie in a glass, with more spices, clove, ginger, raisin. Tastes like a really spiced up cider, with too much cloves, cinnamon, and raisin, dude! Still. this is much better than those apple wines they whip out every holiday season.
3.9 Sample at MBCC 2017. Spicy and fruity with apples and cinnamon. Similar taste. Feels christmasy. Sweet. No carbonation. Made me think of ’glögg’.
2.8 duft:karamel æble meget krydret smag. meget krydret æble gløg lrudret rosin
3.6 Sampled @ Mikkeller Beer Celebration 2017, Red Session. Klare hell braune Farbe. Geruch nach Honig, reife Äpfel, Bratapfel, Zimt. Geschmack nach Bratapfel, Zimt Honig.
2.5 Tap at MBCC2017, Copenhagen. Color is clear light brown with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Spices, Christmas spices and some sweetness.
3.6 Tap mbcc, red session Poured amber colored. Apples, meady notes with honey. Light sweet flavor, cinnamon, apples, honey. Long sweet finish.
3.0 A brown cider with no head. The aroma has notes of apples, cinnamon, and herbs. The flavor is sweet with notes of cinnamon, apples, and caramel, leading to a dry finish
3.6 Man the Big Lebowski has staying power. Nice beverage, man. Ginger and cinnamon spices over a smooth tart and sweet apple body, interesting tasty cider.
3.4 0.5l bottle. This is a cloudy looking light brown colored one, not much of a head. It smells really nice, interesting and different. Spicy with ginger, cinnamon, lemon zest, herbal products and it’s all in all a really complex and nice nose on this one. Hmm.. That’s definitely something else! Really spiced up, but not too much either. Herbal and spicy, it’s both sweet yet not sweet. The tea shines more through in the taste I think. There’s red apples and a little bit of honey also. Surprisingly soft, near flat on the carbonation and it’s thin oily in the mouth. Really flavorful and complex indeed. Not sure about the name though... 18.04.2015
4.2 Ciders don’t get much better than this one. My best I. Over five years of ciders. Complex spices, not too sweet pairs well with pork loin or steak.
4.3 B. Pours a dark amber color with no head. Really interesting flavor. Apple and spices
3.8 Listen, Maude, I’m sorry if your stepmother is a nympho, but I don’t see what it has to do with - do you have any Kahlúa?
3.4 Bottled thanks to Brian FL (non ratebeer) on January 28, 2017. Clear copper color, very small white head. Spices, ginger, apples, cinnamon, lime taste. Light acidic, spicy aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, sweet finish. Spicy, apple scent.
3.4 Pours a clear golden brown. Strong smell of spices. Sweet cider with a fair bit of tartness from the style of apples. Strong spice taste, only a modicum of tea.
3.8 500 ml bottle An elusive cider found its way into my collection after being discovered at the local store. With a name like Dude’s Rug this could not be passed. If you like The Big Lebowski or B Nektar in general pick up a bottle. Aroma / Appearance - A soft bronze body glimmers with refracted light. Bubbly carbonation livens the profile. Chai, cider, and malt stick in the air which is surprising for a 5.5% ABV beer. Smelling almost like a tart it sparkles with life. Flavor / Palate - Chai tea, mulled apple cider, and cooling juice meld into a polished sweet profile. From start to finish the taste consistently offers a dry texture. Rather than a predictable dry cider this turns the recipe on its head to create a memorable experience.
3.4 Sample at the Aficionado’s beer tasting on 12/08/2016. This Cider is a murky copper color with a thin white head that burns away quickly to a sparse outer ring. Applies and spices in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of mildly tart apple, cinnamon and chai spice. The finish is fruity with a spiced apple aftertaste. Decent overall.
2.6 Picked this up in Maine oddly enough. Shared with JLindros. Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice slightly clear honey amber hue. Aromas of very light tea aroma huge aromas of cardamom, ginger, clove, and cinnamon. Taste is similar to the nose, the spices are way over powering. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Really really spice forward. Wish this was more like a mulled cider.
3.2 500 ml bottle. Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin off white film. The aroma and flavor have sweet apples, a decent apple cider bite, heavier spices, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, herbal tea, a strange combination for me, hard to finish.
