3.4 Bottled, 375ml from Morrison's in Banbury, Oxon. Chestnut with off white head. Sampled my wife's bottle as I realised that I had never rated this, it's sweet cherries on the nose and initial flavour then soured yeasty flavours. Quite smooth when warmed on the palate, there is a vanilla, pistachio ice cream type note and marzipan. Pleasant enough.
3.5 375ml bottle from Morrisons. Eye - dark brown to red colour, small off white head, some ringed retention. Aroma - dark cherries, sugar and almonds. Taste - sweet, fruity dark cherries, almonds, slight sour and mild bitterness in the finish. Palate - medium body, slightly oily, semi-smooth, moderate carbonation. Overall - its quite a nice fruity red ale. Not the most complex but flavoursome all the same.
3.4 Clear red pour in the glass and a fine pink head Fine intensity in the aroma. Lots of cherries Balanced sweetness and a mellow carbonation level Lots of cherries in the flavor. Also some almond and fruit stones [On tap at TÆPS in Fredrikstad, Norway]
3.0 Dark ruby, thin foam leaves quickly. Nose Cherries, almonds, and eva perceptible vinegar. Taste: sour cherries, almonds, caramel. minimal bitterness.Nothing special here, but high quality
3.4 Clear, reddish color and an off-white head. Red fruits, marzipan, almonds. Sweetish.
3.0 Very cherry
4.1 Deep ruby, brown, small white head. Very intriguing aroma, marsipan, red fruits, plum. A bit sweet, otherwise excellent.
3.6 Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours clear deep red with off-white head. Distinct aroma of cherries. Tastes fruity sour with quite some sweetness. Medium bodied.
3.5 C: dark brown N: cherries, cherry twizzlers P: cherries, fruity, mild body, not very exciting, but pleasant.
3.5 375 ml paper-wrapped bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.8%. Dark red colour, moderate off-white to pink head. Distinct aroma of cherries, cherry kernels, almonds and marzipan. Very fruity and sweet flavour, slightly sour, with cherries and marzipan galore. Minimal hops.
3.5 330ml bottle from Tesco, Watford and drunk on 10/11/2009. This one had been purchased quite a few years earlier. It’s really quite a good example of this kind of sweetened sour beer. The underlying Flemish red still comes through and the cherry isn’t overpowering in its sweetness.
3.6 I love this beer straight up. Cherry coke with a bit of lime juice and rind thrown in. Nice slick mouth-feel, very dark brown colour, smells of cherry lollipops. Wouldn't be something id drink 7 of, but good god would I crush one of these of a Tuesday afternoon.
3.4 Aroma; sweet berries, raspberry candies. Look; pinkish mat on hazy red mahogany body. Taste; sweet cherries, tart, vanilla, raspberries, marzipan, bhutane, amalgame, almond, and leading to a dry finish. Feel; soft body n soft co². Overall; very fruity, but dry.
Bon corps. Malgrés tout bonnr oud bruin!! mon style
3.2 Bottle 37.5cl, a brown red beer with pink head. Nose on dark cherries, sweet like. Aroma on dark cherries, light vinegar, sweet, light oak notes, bit too sweet but correct complexity.
3.8 375ml bottle brewed in Belgium at 5.8%. Neat little head, fairly long lasting, on a super dark purplish-red body seeming black in the glass. Rich, effulgent cherry aroma with lurking hints of Oud Bruin. Moderate carbonation, fairly thick mouthfeel. A nice cherry experience running the gamut of the fruit from high to low - as you might expect, with a slight muddying at the low end - is that the Oud Bruin or the stevia though? Pity. That said, if you want a cherry beer, the fellow with the mug looking pleased with himself is your man. As the beer warms from the recommended serving temperature, more beer notes are appreciable, including some mild wheat character and a little acidity. Personally, as a beer lover, I'd serve this closer to 10 degrees C. Like its Framboise cousin, however, despite not really making any missteps, you can tell this is the mass-production, mass-appeal side of the style, and the glimpses of what it could be when done 'craft' in small batches are hard to ignore. You can't taste the stevia or antioxidants, but that almost lets you feel them being there as you pass over all the other flavours by process of elimination. No bad beer, mind, and hits the cherry-beer target, but at the same time when drinking it gently lets you know there's more to a Kriek than this. As a supermarket offering, though? No complaints. Just, uh, be sure you like cherries.
3.3 Fles 37,5cl thuis. Zacht, licht weeïg, zoet, kers, wat framboos, bosvruchten, licht fizzy. (3-5-2020).
4.0 Dark red, almost black, with no head. Strong cherry taste with an almond note and a hint of vinegar. Round cherry taste with a little acidity.
3.7 Mørk rød, masse kirsebær, litt eik, fin surhet, noe vanilje.................
3.5 W aromacie wiśnie, takie z jogurtu Fantazja te owoce. Barwa ciemnowiśniowa, piana ładna. W smaku słodkie, wiśniowe, lekko kwaśne na finiszu i taniczne.
3.1 Sweet and typical within its category. Ok easy drinking not ground breaking.
3.6 Bottle at De Staat, purple with pink head. Sweet cooked cherries, cherry pie, marzipan, almonds, rose petals, spice. Moderate sweet and bitter, hint of tart. Medium body and soft carbonation. Could easily be worse. 👀
3.6 Beer made with 15% cherries, purple colour, quite sweet, quite a good ale.
3.8 Mørk rød med lavt rosa skum. Lukter mandelkjærnepudding med rød saus. Middels fylde. Søt smak, kirsebær og lett bitter mandelkjærne. Kort
3.4 375ml bottle. Clear, brown-ish, dark ruby colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, minimally sugary artificial, cherry aroma, notes of Haribo Happy Cherries, a touch of citric acid. Taste is sweet-and-sour, sherbet-like fruity, notes of cherry, cherry sirup, lemon, citric acid. Slightly artificial and inhomogeneous, more a juxtapository than complementary arrangement of sweet- and sourness - nevertheless quite tasty, even if I have to confess to fall prey to the flattering sweetness. Definitely easy drinkable.
2.9 Ruby colour, minimal head. Aroma is intensive cherry. Heavy sweetness, medium sour. Not very interesting.
1.8 Pours dark red with pinkish foam. Strong cherry smell. Cheery bitter sweet taste. Not for me personally, too sweet.
2.6 Ever have the sugared coated haribos? Remember the cherries? Pretty much just that in a bottle. Absolutely sweet, could be pretty sickly to people unfamiliar to the taste. Enjoyable.
