Backyard Brew Bomble Bee 17

Backyard Brew Bomble Bee 17

Bomble Bee 17 turned out pretty much how we wanted a pilsener style lager from our backyard brewery to be. Golden colour and a pearly white head. Elegant dry body and a refreshing bitterness. But then, while lagering, our brewmaster chose to bombard the brew with hops to give the beer its final profile. Grassy Saaz battling Flowery Willamette for your nose’s attention. We call it a Hop-Struck Pilsener.

2.7 PET bottle from Systembolaget. Clear yellow w a white head, some lacings. Aroma medium malty (caramel) and hoppy (floral, herbal, spicy). Flavor medium sweet, medium bitter, light spicy. Medium body.
3.1 Can. Medium dark golden no head. Scent is lager. Taste is a nice hopped lager. Fairly mature. Mildly tangy. Great lager.
3.2 Bread yeast malt aroma. Metallic twang. Not unpleasant but not inspiring. Worth the 69p from homebargains.not a lot else to say.
3.0 Canned, 330ml from Asda in Leamington Spa, Warks. Gold with short white head. This proved to be a malt driven beer with a slight metallic edge, sharp although some cereal sweetness. There are some lemon type flavours within the beer although quite vague. It's okay.
3.4 Bought beer as was cheap and nice looking tasted ok would have again not the best but for price nice
2.7 Pours clear pale golden with low white head Aromas of herbs, spices, bread, hay, floral Taste has notes of bread, hay, herbs, floral, sweet bread
2.2 Color is deep gold, with a thin head. Faint aroma, malt, floral. Taste of pale toast, slightly floral and slightly sweet. Medium low bitterness. Medium, kind of smooth mouth feel. Rather low in carbonation. All in all, kind of pointless.
3.0 Can from Asda. Metallic copper smell. Like a cheap Pilsner. Picks up on taste though. Nice bitter middle and end. Not great. But if you were drinking nothing but lager all night, and this was the only lager you had, it would actually be ok...
3.2 hay, bread, resin, dough, cough drop, orange, red, clear, white foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, salty, light body, thin feel, soft carbonation, bitter,
2.8 330 ml can at ABV 4,7 %. Small white head and slightly hazy amber/brown colored body. Sweet fruity/citrus aroma and a bit of toffee/caramel. Taste is somehow sweet and hoppy. No idea why this is classified as a premium lager, as it is definitely more ale-like. Decent beer but slightly too watery.
2.7 Puszka 330ml. Ladna zlota barwa. Piana biala, obfita, pozostaje w szkle. Aromat chmielowy z delikatna nuta kwiatowa. W smaku zelazo.ziarno lekka sloma i trawa. Jak to mawiali w Kingsajzie..nijaki taki.
4.3 Don’t be fooled by pilsner in the title, this will appeal to those who like a light hoppy beer. Very enjoyable.
2.1 33cl bottle. clear golden. small white head. malt, citrus, light caramel, medium bitter finish.
2.2 Klar brun farge med hvitt skum. Lukter malt og litt krydder. Lettdrikkelig pilsner.
2.1 Bottle. Has a clear amber colour with an off-white head. Strange and fruity aroma of dust, apricots, grass, wet hay and some candy. The flavor is more similar to a Cech lager with saaz, wet hay, grass and fruity undertones. Has a slick and silky mouth feel, light body and a very light bitterness. A very strange lager with an off-centered aroma. Okay some how.
1.9 Tunn, något torr pilsner/lager med brödiga, jordiga och örtiga toner och en väldigt snäll, torr beska.
2.7 330ml can at 4.7%. Pours dark orange with a large head. Aroma is sweet grass and caramel. Taste is mostly tea and caramel. A touch of grass and minerals. A bit dusty.
2.7 33 cl bottle from Systembolaget. Clear golden with a medium white head. Moderate malty aroma of bread, hay, light syrup and lageryeast. Taste reflects the aroma. Light bodied, with a semi-dry texture. Average carbonation. Low bitterness.
2.8 Grain and cereal malts, floral hops, light grass. Clear, dark gold, medium, creamy, off-white head. Light bitter. Lots of malts, grain, bread, caramel, lively carbonation, bitter finish, light bodied. OK Lager, malty with some decent hops. Can from Sainsbury’s, Chiswick.
3.4 Can drunk at home. ok lager aroma. Quite hoppy in fact. The saaz are lovely. I thought a very drinkable premium lager pilsner. Very drinkable.
3.5 Can courtesy of Barry, cheers Barry consumed Wednesday 12th October 2016 Pours light/mid gold with a filmy white head, mid sweetness, hoppy bite. Decent beer but as Barry suggests this could have been a bit colder. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5
2.5 Can. Pours a mid brown colour with a mid sized white head, aroma is light with hints of fruit, taste is light bitterness and thin with a dry watery finish.
2.8 light sweet malty aroma, golden, clear, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, oily feel, sweet ,malty finish.
2.2 Golden coloured and clear. Has a white head, medium duration. Mild flavor and aroma, some sweetness, malts, hardly any hops, oddly.
3.2 Can. Bronze with a small head. Hardly any defining flavour although if you tried hard enough you could perhaps taste a hops. What does this bring to the world of beer-nothing.
2.8 Aroma: Fruity hops and caramel sweetness. Flavour: Fruity sweetness with a fruity bitterness and a dry finish. Colour: Golden amber with a white head.
2.7 Plastic bottle. 4.7%. Best before 12.01.17. Pours a clear golden, with a fluffy, off-white head. Good lacing. Sweetish aroma. Note of apple at first, but turns into more of a generic fruity note as it warms. Hint of malt in the background. Somewhat spicy hop note as it warms. Flavour is sweet, with fruit, apple and a hint of malt. Light caramel note as it warms and a hint of a metallic overtone. Mild to medium bitter finish, fruity with a grainy hint. Lingering spicy hop, grassy, apple and light cooked vegetable notes. Slightly oily palate. Overall okay, if nothing special, but good for the style. 22.08.16.
2.7 PET-bottle in wine glass. This is a nicely hopped lager. Don?t think I ever rated a lager this high. Maybe I?m just drunk.
