Badger Hopping Hare

Badger Hopping Hare

Bottle: Pasteurised.
"Bound to satisfy".

Replaced in 2020 by The Hopping Hare, a 4% abv blonde ale with American hops only.

Current description: Hopping Hare is thrice hopped with three types of hop used during the brewing process. Aromatic Goldings and Cascade combine to provide an uplifting citrus-grapefruit and floral aroma, whilst First Gold carries the bitterness. The effect is a refreshing ale with a unique hoppy aroma and well-balanced bitterness that is bound to satisfy! It is a terrific match with roast lamb and spicy Thai dishes!

Previous description: Triple hopped - Super Styrian hops added twice to the coppers then Styrian Goldings added.

2.9 500ml bottle. Light gold colour with white head. Bready malt, watery citrus, clear bottle skunk, light hoppy finish, light metallic.
2.3 500 ml bottle, bb 03/2019. Golden, clear. Nose - wet leaves, earth, cardboard and a waft of raw sewage. Taste - bitter-ish, bland, nothing to see here.
3.3 Pours a pale straw colour. Aroma is floral and slightly hoppy. Grassy and fliral on the taste. Palate a bit watery
3.0 Bottle at home from Sainsbury. A strong aroma of fresh cut grass on opening the bottle, but that quickly faded. A fairly wishy-washy look in the tankard and some lacing. The taste was bitter hops, somewhat skunky and not something that I dug. It was a bit harsh and the mouthfeel wasn't great. Overall it wasn't something I particularly enjoyed.
2.7 Clear golden beer, decent white head that soon reduces to being thin and filmy. Aroma is tangy citrus. Flavour has a bit of that with caramel, some bitter hop and a slightly musty aftertaste with a just a hint of the lingering tang. Feels a bit watery in the mouth. It's okay, no more than that.
2.8 Bottle. Poured dark gold with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, citrus, caramel, flowers, biscuit and hop. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Light to medium body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation.
2.7 Never been impressed by a badger beer and this is no exception. Gold dirty caramel bit of biscuity malt dry herby aftertaste.
2.8 Bottles from Aldi, Sainsbury's, Asda. Pale golden coloured with a thick white head. It has melon, passion fruit and earthy flavours with a sweet fruit and biscuity finish. Not bad.
3.5 Typical Badger ale - simple, clean no-nonsense beer. Not all that interesting, but perfectly enjoyable on a warm day.
4.5 This stuff is awesome! Beautiful fresh, floral hop flavours!
2.4 Pours golden coloured with a white head. Aroma has light citrus, honey, grass and cereal. Flavour is lemon, honey and some orange aswell. Metallic an light body. kinda strange.
3.4 Bottle ASDA. Pours a deeper gold, little head. Light biscuit aroma, hoppy flavour. Not complex by any means but a nice summer BBQ kind of a beer. Unlike some golden ales holds taste as warms up. Nice.
2.2 Pours clear golden, not much head. Aroma is a bit skunky - come soft being in a clear bottle. Flavor is malty, not anything else. Mouthfeel has weak body and fizz. Maybe it’s better on tap or something.
3.9 Cremet hvid skum.Maltet og moderat humlet aroma. Moderat bittter smag. Moderat bitter finish. Frugtnuancer af melon.
2.9 Bottle 50cl, a clear copper beer with low head. Nose is on blond caramel and pine. Aroma is on the same with toasted caramel notes, medium sweet, low body, hay touch, floral, dry bitter finish.

2.9 Bottle. Pours a clear golden colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of caramel, slight cut grass, subtle grapefruit and some floral hops. Taste of caramel, some toasted malts, slight grapefruit, a little grass and subtle floral hops. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, floral hop bitterness in the finish. A nice, light, golden ale.

2.8 Color dorado limpio, espuma blanca. Aroma a lúpulo y cítrico. Sabor a malta, ligero dulzor al principio y toques citricos. amargor ligero. Final refrescante.

3.8 Served in a tulip from a 500ml bottle. Pours clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma is hops, citrus, grass. Taste is citrus, grapefruit with a subtle hoppy bitterness in the finish. 3.3 500 ml clear bottle bought at Market Place by Jason’s in iSquare, Tsim Sha Tsui. Clear golden bronze colour; One and a half finger head with crumpety white foam which last for 3 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing and active small carbonation; Fragrant and sweet aroma of ale malt, with initial skunk (1 minute), strong floral, honey, peaches, lemonade, earth, bread, lemon and strong grass; Mid to strong sweet taste of fair Ale malt, with honey, grains, caramel, strong floral, molasses, dry biscuits, strong lemon, strong bitter hops and sharp grass; Mid to light body. Dry and slick palate; Mouth feel is fairly good Pale maltymess in a slightly thinned background. Light but persistent honey and floral set the tone. Pretty grainy, quite sweet but well countered by strong sharp lemony hops. Crisp and pretty nice!… Hoppiness is strong floral, honey, peaches, lemonade, earth, lemon and grass in nose. Lemon, strong floral and sharp grass in taste; Bitterness is strong for an abrupt, high astringent sweet floral finish; Dry after taste. Floral sweet and strong bitter to mouth. Comments: This one feel slightly poppy, as its body is quite lean with some light honey taste, the hops shines in taste as storng lemon bitterness, and the fruity hops aroma isn’t as strong as I wish. Easy to enjoy and good for meals.

3.3 500ml bottle. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour is hoppy, light citrus, herbs, light grapefruit bitterness. Nice.
3.4 Amber-brown with a lasting medium-fine head and an earthy, herbal hoppy nose with hints of caramel. Dry and lightly toasty, nice balance of sweet cereal and zesty bitterness, finishing with citrus and toffee notes.
2.2 Butelka 500 ml. Zloty kolor piana srednia biala. Aromat cytrusow chmielow trawy grejfrutow. Smak podobny orzezwiajaca dawka cytrusow i chmielu. Wszystko bylo by ok gdyby nie smak i zapach ktory pojawia sie w glebi...jakby scieki albo moczu... Marcin G
