Ballast Point Even Keel - Mango

Ballast Point Even Keel - Mango

Our Mango Even Keel is the ideal beer for easy drinking. This hoppy, session ale gets a flavor boost from mango, which perfectly plays off the citrusy hop bouquet. With fruit, hops, and a low ABV, this beer truly is on another level.

2.6 Taster from can, courtesy of Werckmeister, many thanks! Pours a nearly clear orange golden with a white head. The aroma is medium malty, rather sugary sticky with overripe fruits, fruit gum, sweet citric fruits, tangerine, biscuit, honey, overripe mango. Light body with a light to medium bitterness. The flavor is mainly dominated by bitter, herbal hops with some candy-like fruity notes in the back. The flavor is in full contrast to the artificial sweetish smell. Finishes with a long lasting hoppy bitterness. Overall pretty weird and fully out of balance. Aroma: 6 Appearance: 4 Taste: 5 Palate: 3 Overall: 8
2.2 18.08.2018, 12 oz can @ home: Nice slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet artificial fruity, sap, tropical fruits candy, wet grass, winegum, fruit stones, weeds, light malts, wet hops, alcohol, bark. Taste is slightly harsh grassy, sap, fruit stones, weeds, wet grass, winegum, bark, sawdust, tropical fruits candy, light malts, harsh hops. Medium bitterness, watery and harsh fruity mouthfeel. Meh!
3.0 0,355l can at home courtesy of Rob, big thanks. No obvous date. orange hazy color, small white head. smells of tangerines, mango, sticky mango, candy, light marzipan. nice smell but rather on the artificial side. light body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, vanillaish, pepper, spices, medical, herbal, hints of mango. finishes rather bitter with notes of vanilla, earth and light mango notes. Bit weird one, overall rather artifical flavours, not a big fan of the taste. Just Ok.
3.6 Started awesome but became less and less drinkable despite it being a hot ass day and at a baseball game. Just a bit too funky of a post palate. Great aroma and appearance but odd ass palate after an awesome taste. On tap at Angel Stadium
3.3 Sweet mango fruit aroma with piney grapefruity hops. Pours an amber color with lasting off white head Strong bitter piney and grapefruit peel hop flavor with mango fruit. Medium light bodied with medium co2, lingering piney hop. Different beer, enjoyable, but a bit more bitter than I would like. Wish the mango came out more in the flavor.
3.6 Bright amber body with white head Nice dried mango, marshmallow, woody, tropical fruit aromas. Mango fruit flavors are lightly sweet and earthy, with some herbalness and bready maltage---nice tangy finish____very tasty
3.2 can @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of citrus and malt. Clear medium orange amber color, off-white head that stays at one finger, sprays of lace. Taste is malt and mango citrus, nicely balanced as it moves through a surprisingly long finish. My overall take is that it is a little thin and watery, but at 3.8%, what else is it going to be? If I ever need to cut back on my drinking, this would be the first brew I'd seek.
3.9 Aroma sitrus, fruktkaramell, malt, humle. Utseende tåkete gylden med offwhite skum. Smak mango, mandel, lys melkesjokolade, karamell, malt, humle. Fyldig og fruktig med god sødme. Boks kjøpt på Extra Setermoen, 33cl 3,8% tap120218
3.8 12 oz can de Drink Store, Dublin, canned 28/02/2018.
3.5 Can from Coop Mega, Gausel. Pours almost clear deep golden with a big creamy off-white head.Strong mango aroma, fruity hops. Taste is light fruity bitter, flowery with a decent mango addition, long dry finish
3.2 gyllenbrun, fruktig, tung, lett bitter..........................................
3.5 Quite a bit of flavor in here for 3.8%. Still has that super light watery feel though, but some slight malt in there to give somewhat of a body. Has a light hazy orange appearance. Flavors of mango, citrus, and mild hops. A nice summer beer.
3.0 Can. Gold in color. Fruity, citrus aroma. The taste is also a fruity citrusy with a bitter finish.
2.7 Boks fra lokal COOP-Extra. Drukket på Lillehøgda. Mørk gylden. Lavt luftig skum. Tydelig mangoaroma. Smaken tørr mango. Tørr ettersmak. Uvariert. Virket kunstig.
3.3 芒果水果軟糖香 清爽不甜 酒體清淡 酒花苦入口就出現 不怕苦不要甜果香清爽推 18/05/26@啤啤
3.3 Ballast Point Even Keel Mango Session IPA 3% Holy shit, this is just 3%? Cool. The aroma is sweet mango cream (lactose?). Light bodied, it starts with a mango cream sweetness before a big bitterness sweeps in with pithy citrus and woodsy pine notes. That sweetness seems a bit like lactose which probably is intended to compliment the mango and thicken up the body but gets to be a bit much. It started off strong but fizzled out...
3.5 Appearance: orange red, small white head. Aroma: mango and children’s paracetamol ‘calpol’ , flavour: strawberry and mango , slight bitterness , sticky ‘calpol’ finish.
3.4 Clear amber pore with mocca colored head of medium retention. Fruity, herbal aromad with some spice, flower and malt aromas in the background. Spicy mouthfil with bitterness and a «dentist» minty kind of flavour.
3.6 Clear copper pour with a white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is mango candy and some grass. Taste is sweet mango, grapefruit, grass, and toffee. Light bitterness. Lingering citrus zest after taste. Light body. Pretty surprising for the low ABV.
3.9 It pours an orange gold color with a small white head. It has the aroma of mango and citrusy hops. It has a nice bitterness to it and a strong citrus hop flavor with a bit of mango. The flavors of the citrus hops & mango do blend together well in my opinion. This is one of the better session IPA's that I've had.
3.1 Pours dark golden with a hint of read. Head has large bubbles right on top of the liquid. Strong aroma of mango and passion fruit and that's about it. Slightly bitter and slightly sweet with some fruit undertones. Not nearly as sweet as I was afraid of based on the aroma. Not a bad beer but the flavor is a bit strange.
3.2 Sample at alltech. Soft mango with bubbly fruit light bitter finish. Nice and drinkable.
3.1 @ The brewpub in San Diego 18-2-19: Ok mangoton men den är ändå lite för tunn.
3.2 Totally crushable. Refreshing with a strong presence of mango. If you don't like mango, you're SOL. Could seriously see having this on a summer afternoon with tacos. Cheers!
3.3 Rated on 02-08-2018. Can. The appearance is a medium sized off-white fizzy head that is mostly lasting, slightly hazy, golden body, fast rising carbonation, and spotty lacing. The aroma is a lot of mango, citrus hops, fruity, spicy, floral, sweet, and malt. The flavor presents light-medium bitterness, mango, citrus hops, fruity, malt, sweet, and a dry finish. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is light-medium bodied. This beer has a dry and bitter finish to it. This is a so-so beer with way too much mango. This is not one of my favorite beers from Ballast Point. It is rather disappointing.
2.4 355ml can @ Beijing China
3.2 Can from Sterk Amsterdam. Aroma is fruity hops with lots of (artificial) mango, tropical fruits, zesty citrus, mango candy, and fruit peel. Flavour is candy-like sweetness with a firm hop 'n fruit peel bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Like Grapefruit Sculpin, too candied and artificial for my taste.
3.6 Can at home, all alone. Fruity aroma with mango, peach, and citrus. Really fruity flavors, candy like, Fruit Stripe gum. Grassy hops. Pretty good....different.
3.6 12 Fl Oz can at my daughters place in Laguna Niguel on 5th Dec 2017. Misty/cloudy, dull orange pour, head soon just a wisp and collar. I thought this a lovely refreshing beer, citrusy hops ruling the base aroma and taste with the Mango flavours coming through nicely. I am taking to Ballast Point beers and will hopefully meet some more while in Southern California.
3.8 355ml can bought at YATA in YoHo Mall, Yuen Long. Looks: Clear amber colour; Three-quarter finger head with crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Beautiful sticky lacing with active slight carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant Ale malt, with strong mango, strong honey, peaches, candied fruits, strong floral, sugar, light spices, pine, resins, biscuits, lemon and grass. Taste: Close to light sweet Ale malt, with strong mango, grapefruits, peaches, fair caramel, strong floral, light molasses, spices, pine, resins, dry biscuits, lemon, mid to strong bitter hops and strong grass. Body: Medium body; Slick and quite oozy palate. Mouth Feel: Solid Ale maltyness in a pretty thick background. Very notable mango fruits with peachy grapefruity hops and caramel. Very flowery with moderate sweetness. Spicy with notable pine and resins. Dry biscuity with lemon to round. Fruity and good! Hoppiness: Peaches, candied fruits, strong floral, light spices, pine, resins, lemon and grass in nose. Grapefruits, peaches, strong floral, spices, pine, resins, lemon and strong grass in taste; Bitterness is fairly strong for a lasting, mid to high astringent citrusy malty finish. After Taste: Quite dry. Mango fruity and bitter to mouth.

Comments: This mango add-on to the basic Even Keel beer is positive: very strong nice mango and honey aroma, strong fruity taste but without the poppy sweetness, while keeping original piney citrusy hoppiness intact. I prefer this one over rthe original Even Keel. Thumbs up!
