2.6 Väri kaunis tuoksu hyvä maussa liikaa katkeroa.
3.9 A small taste from a friend (tap) @ Craft Beer Helsinki 2018. Pours clear deep amber with a medium creamy head. Aroma is sweet malts with resinous hops. Flavor is sweet malts, alcohol, pine, hops. Very good.
3.6 Aroma of pine, orange liqueur, caramel, peach, vanilla, and cranberry. Taste is bitterness, vanilla, spruce, pine, and unripe blueberry.
4.0 Bottle. Clear mahogny in color with an off-white head. Sweet malty and ripe fruity notes on the nose. Bitter, round malty and sweetish notes in taste. Enough with bitters though keeping it drinkable. Ripe fruity and malty finish. Well balanced, no sign of the abv here. Slightly burnt butterscotch too, nice.
3.8 Clear, deep mahogany colour with a foamy tan head. Aroma has light hops and some malts. Malty taste, full flavours and a nice bitter finish. Above medium body, low medium carbonation, smooth mouthfeel.
3.6 6/10/18 - Tallahassee, Fl - Lucky's Market - 12 oz bottle, Dark copper pour, faint khaki head that clings to the edge of the glass. Toffee and peat in the aroma, traces of bubble gum. Bold flavor, traces of chocolate, toffee, some meatiness akin to a smoked beer. Nicely textured thick mouthfeel. 10% ABV hidden extremely well.
3.6 It pours with a beige head. The aroma has lots of rich toasted malt, bread, caramel, sweetness and woody hops. It has a medium body with soft carbonation. The taste has the aroma notes, but is drier and shows more booze with harsh earthy hops on the finish. Good.
3.5 Clear, intense dark orange. Stiff khaki head. Standard longneck, amusing but kinda goofy label. Woody, fruity aroma with vanilla notes. Boozy, woody, a bit ragged. Slightly heavy body. Long, bitter, mossy aftertaste. ABC Liquors, Bull Run.
3.8 Draft pours amber with a off white head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, grass and citrus. Taste is bready, sweet malts and grapefruit
3.5 Pours a deep transparent red, with a half inch or more of fine yellow foam. Aroma is earthy and grassy. Taste is a mix of sweet caramel, citrus fruit, and bitter/piney.
4.0 650ml brown bottle. Amber/reddish coloured and clear. Big frothy and creamy beige head and some good clingy lacing. Nose - toasted malt, caramel, nutty, light hops. Taste - caramel malt sweetness, toffee even, toasty, nutty, big bitter hops. Finishes toasty with toffee and has a long lasting bitterness. A big beer, well balanced for it's strength.
3.5 Bottle at home. Pours a very appealing medium amber, crystal clear. Aroma is hop forward. Citrusy. Flavor opens with some big malt notes, with tart hoppy undertones. Mouthfeel somewhat thin. Warming finish with some resiny hop notes. Big, hoppy beer. Reasonably enjoyable.
3.7 Draught at Ballast Point taproom. Copper color, white head. Bitter taste with grapefruit, hops, pine, caramel, a bit of fruits and a bit of resin. Bitter finish with grapefruit, hops, caramel, pine, a bit of fruits and resin. Very nice imperial red.
3.6 Bottle. Pours clear dark copper/crimson. Aroma and flavor are bready and toasted malts, some caramel, red berries, faint plum, and big piney/earthy/woody bitterness; soft sweetness to keep things balanced with a dry, bitter finish. Medium/full body.
3.9 On tap. Hazy copper color with creamy white head. Aroma - Citrus, caramel, pine, nuts. Taste - Bitter, medium sweetness, caramel, citrus, strawberry, malt, pine, toffee.
3.4 Bottle in 13 or 14, pours a hazy amber red with small head and light lace. Notes of cherry fruit, malt, caramel, hops, ash, and old grapefruit. Medium bodied with a resinous but sweet malt close. Booze well hidden at 10 but still hot.
4.0 At Brewpub. Best taster of the night. Loads of spice, hops, malt. Sweet and bitter. Good booze hit. Well made and very drinkable.
3.8 Solid red hop monster, a deep, sugary mix of caramel and toffee malts and a vicious amount of piney, resinous IBU vitriol. A bit of a one-trick pony, juxtaposing the gooey sweet center with a bone-dry, endlessly bitter back end without developing much other complexity in the flavors, but both sides are done well, and the creamy, slick texture’s absolutely amazing. (Hard to grasp how a beer this smooth could be 10%.) I do wish the hops brought forth a little more citrus, maybe some dankness to play off the caramel, but damned if this pint isn’t disappearing fast as hell despite my issues. Caramel nose with a touch of booze, and the appearance is gorgeous, a deep red-orange with a neverending beige head and multiple strata of lace. Tasty beer.
3.7 Pours a deep reddish brown color with a thin off white head. Aroma of resinous pine, caramel, and dried dark fruits. Flavors were rich and malty with loads of resinous piney hops. Lots of caramel, dried dark fruits, toasted cracker, a hint of smokiness, and some sweetness. Good carbonation, full-bodied mouthfeel with a slightly slick finish. Well balanced, very clean/seamless beer. Alcohol is hardly noticeable. Excellent.
4.1 Bottle. Holy crap, this is a BIG beer from all angles. Thick and ruddy with a sturdy head. The aroma is downright scary, rife with some woodsy hops and malt. The beer drinks like chewing on bark and hops. I already had a lot of hair on my chest ... I think there’s more. (#6671, 6/23/2017)
3.7 Draft at Mellow. Pours a clear amber with a finger of foam that lingers. Very light nose, bit of pine, orange. Smooth and well balanced. More orange popsiclevas it warms. Bitter, piney and nice. Well done.
3.6 A very hoppy imperial red. Medium body. Not their best beer, but good overall, not for the style. Ballst pt sd
3.6 On tap in Greenville SC in a Gouden Carolus glass. Clear dark amber body with a large, semi-durable beige head. Aroma: hops, toffee, soft ripe fruits. Flavor: as the aroma suggests, this is fruity. Also boozy. Typical (or a bit higher) bitterness for style. Feel: the body is medium; medium+ carbonation. Mild alcohol warmth. Overall: fruity imperial red.
4.0 Poured from a bomber bottled on the 270th day of 2016, so just about 5 months old. Reddish amber with a good sized off white head. Sweet caramel nose, taste was bitter sweet. Medium bodied with a strong bitter finish. Very nice Imperial Red.
3.7 [My bottle shared w/ jercraigs & mabel] Pours orange-amber with an average size frothy white head. Nice aroma (7+) is malty yes, but also fruity and hoppy -- a bit bready as well. Malty and hoppy flavour along with a nice bitter finish. Alcohol relatively well hidden. Medium bodied. Really good.
3.5 Tap at the hair if the dog pp. Thin white head. Clear golden pour Very nice
3.5 Tap at Hair of the Dog, Phrom Phong. Poured a hazy clear copper with a thin white head. The aroma is liqouice bitter metallic floral hop, The flavour is strong bitter with a dry woody metallic hop bitter, light burning alcohol palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
3.5 bottle. very nice imperial red ipa. enjoyed with 2 others - very good beer.
3.9 This draft brew from a restaurant poured a small sized head of foamy white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a softly carbonated golden red brown colored body and a very good lacing. The mild aroma was malt hop. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of Irish red malt caramel and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.
3.8 Bomber, from Wine Warehouse, I think. Pours hazy brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of sweet dark fruit, caramel, black tea, orange peel. Flavor is orange peel, dark fruit, burnt caramel malt, grapefruit rind, and finishes with bitter cold coffee.
