Ballast Point Victory at Sea

Ballast Point Victory at Sea

Two of the world’s oldest beverages join forces to conquer your palate. Victory at Sea embodies the art of masterful brewing by infusing a velvety Imperial Porter with pure vanilla flavor and specially-selected, hand roasted coffee. The addition of cold brewed coffee to the beer lends a subtle roasted flavor to this robust imperial porter, blending perfectly with rich vanilla and caramel undertones. By uniting two San Diego brewing traditions, Caffe Calabria freshly brewed coffee and Ballast Point beer, we have successfully created an artisanal masterpiece.

3.8 Svart medhørende lys grunt skum. Lukter espresso, vanilje og noe salt lakris. Fyldig. Smaker sterk bitter kaffe, alkohol og salt lakris. Lang.
4.2 Aroma is sweet vanilla, coffee and dark malts. The flavor is coffee, dark malts, vanilla, chocolate and a mix of mild sweetness, slight chilies/spices and acidity in the finish.
4.2 On tap @Cimmeria, Oviedo 04/07/2019 Color negro opaco corona de espuma beige, aromas café,cacao sabor torrefacto, tostado, cacao, cuerpo denso. Rica

4.1 Keg @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 20-06-19 In short: nice IStout Did I enjoy it: yes Pours black with nice tan head. Moderate head retention, some good lacing. Roasty, creamy, cinnamon, spicy, coffe, nose. Full body, soft carbonation, viscous texture. Taste is roasty, some sweet, spicy, with a dry finish. Quite enjoyable.
4.2 Pours full bodied, dark brown, almost black with good, dark mocha head. Aroma very full, well bodied: lots of roast, sweeter chocolate, vanilla, cake, light alcohol, well blended. Taste again very strong: loads of slightly bitter roast well balanced with a soft sweetness of dark chocolate and vanilla only, slightly noticeable hops, hints of whiskey, very creamy and smooth, thick bodied. Not too complex but immensly tasty and full bodied. Maybe a little too sweet jn the end if I can't resist complaining about something.
4.3 De Labirratorium. En copa tulipa de Basqueland. Viendo Rick y Morty 3x05-07. Mas que cafe lo que me da es perfil a canela, muy suave y bien combinado con la vainilla al principio aunque a la larga se va algo de madre y da lugar a notas algo artificiales. Aun asi no desempaña la experiencia inicial y mereceria la pena repetirla
4.1 Bottle from the brewery - pitch black, small beige head. heavy on coffee and uper heavy on the vanilla side. plus, easily drinkable despite the abv. low sweetness. perfect.
3.9 Smooth chocolate with overpowering vanilla on the nose, bitterness and roastiness pleasant in flavour with a quick subsiding warming finish but a longer lasting bitterness.
3.9 Vanilla, Chocolate

3.8 Draft at Glory. Opaque black pour with short soft khaki foam. Artistic swaths of lace. Big beer. Very dark roasted malts. Black coffee. Black walnuts. Molasses. Vanilla not that pronounced. Nicely rounded. Earlier Rating: 12/9/2012 Total Score: 4.4 Draft at Khyber Pass. Pitch black oily pour. Only in holding the ring up to a very bright light could I discern that it was really a pitch black brown. Tan head left fairly quickly. Wonderful big boozy dark flavors. Charcoal. Ash. Coffee grounds. Tobacco. Burnt toast. Vanilla beans. Devils Food Cake left in the oven and burnt to a crisp. Fantastic!
4.1 Botella 33 CL en el Taxman León 10..04.. 2019. (r1566). Color negro intenso con espuma beige oscuro. Sabores maltosos tostados y café intenso con buenos toques de vainilla, especiados y suaves cacaos. Sueve amargor final algo seco. Cuerpo medio a intenso con buena sensación alcohólica. Fina en boca y con buena densidad. Bastante buena, bastante sabor, para repetir sin duda alguna.
4.4 I like it, feel good
3.3 Pours black with a fluffy creme head. Aroma of espresso and dark chocolate. Lasting, dry mouthfeel. Taste is dominated by roasted malt and intense dark chocolate notes. Palate continues the chocolate and coffee notes in an intense way, mouthfeel and development of the taste that goes on for at least 20 seconds after the sip. Intense beer.
4.0 Extremely chocolate porter. Chocolate everywhere: in aroma and taste. Hints of of coffee and vanilla on the background. Balanced sweetness and bitterness
3.8 A little too sweet for my preference. Feels more like an imperial stout with the thickness and taste. A bit overwhelming on the vanilla and coffee, but the overall flavors are there and tasty. Balance could use some more hops. Not something I would get again for this price, but worth the try.
4.8 Fantastic cold coffee/vanilla flavor! Not too bitter.
4.2 Malt, loads of milky coffee and vanilla. Some background bitumen. A bit like a chilled coffee in a good way
4.7 Taste like chocolate
3.6 Aroma of coffee, chocolate, toast, vanilla and brown sugar. Black with a tan head. Medium + sweet and medium bitter. Medium to full body with average carbonation. A decent Imperial Porter with a bitter and warming finish.

4.1 Bottle at home, shared with Dad, Christmas Day, sort of, 16th December 18. Pours a black beer. Aroma is liquorice, peat, vanilla, coffee. Taste is coffee, vanilla, wood, peat, bitter balance, long bitter cocoa, coffee bean linger.
4.0 Dark brown with a thin, tan head and a dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla nose. Malty and carbonated with a thick mouthfeel and ending very warm with bitter, dark chocolate, and some vanilla.
4.1 Bottle 33 cl. Black With a medium light Brown head. Aroma of coffee, Vanilla and dred fruit. Sweet With a Nice coffee and Vanilla end. It's a Victory! bb unknown, Bought at vinmonopolet Tromsø 11.2018
4.0 Pours pitch black with a tan head that leaves a thin lacing. Aroma of cocoa, vanila and coffee with a hint of smoke. Medium body, thick feel, average carbonation. Taste is roasted and quite dry with lots of coffee, burnt wood, licorice and even some chili towards the end. Finish is long, bitter and drier than the aroma would suggest. The alcohol is really well incorporated, so all-in-all this is pretty darn good!
4.4 November 18, 2018. Dark copper, clear, tall, brown head with small bubbles. Exuberant, wonderful sweet nose, coffee, chocolate. Very full body, silky texture, frothy, creamy and hot mouthfeel, rich and very intense flavors, lingering aftertaste, bittersweet and flavorful finish. Assertively bittersweet, discrete and appropriate acidity. Delicious flavors of coffee, dark and milk chocolate, genuine vanilla, hoppy background. As good as it gets, more a stout than a porter. 9/11/2020 The colder the better. Flavor is legitimate, not artificial. More than delicious. Still good value. Earlier Rating: 3/13/2015 Total Score: 4 Opaque, clear. Sweet nose. Full body, intense flavor, high alcohol heat, lingering palate. Bitter but well balanced by sweetness. Strong roast flavors, coffee, vanilla, alcoholic, liquorice, a touch medicinal. Did not disappoint.
4.8 very good.
4.1 Opaque body. Well balanced and creamy blend of dark coffee/espresso bean and vanilla bean flavors that impart medium sweetness. Rich and warming, as roasted caramel notes linger; medium to heavy on the palate, with bitter coffee lingering.
