3.50.5l bottle. Clear amber body (what else) with a thin lacing white head. Aroma of orange zest, biscuit, burnt sugar, nutmeg and a hint of butter. Taste of biscuit, toast, orange zest, nutmeg and floral hops. Nice session beer. Quite tasty for it's low ABV.
2.2złoty klarowny, w arinacue lekkie biszkopty w smaku gorzko lekko ziołowo. Ale wszystko słabe.
4.3Bardzo smaczny, klasyczny, idealnie pijalny bitter. Herbaciany, karmelowo rześki, słodowy, no i na finiszu lekko ziołowy, półwytrawny. Super klasyka w dobrym wydaniu.
2.789p for a 500ml bottle in Tesco. Classic English bitter. Light in abv, great bitterness. Not too carbonated and nice malty aftertaste. Subtle but tasty.

3.50.5l bottle. Clear copper colour with long lasting white head. Aroma: Fresh bread, caramel and hay with some spicey (cinnamon) tone. Taste: Fresh malty start, bready tones and a pleasent hoppy/bitter mouthfeel. Light/mediun body with medium carbonation. Long lasting bitter finish.
2.7Pours clear amber with a small head. Flavour is biscuity malt, slightly bitter, slightly fruity and earthy hops, metallic and slightly sour. Finishes with biscuit malt and hops. Thin mouthfeel and high carbonation, slightly watery. Traditional bitter, for the price it's okay.
2.9Pours very clear amber with light head. Nose of spicy hops and mid range malt. Tastes ok, lighter than many bitters but not bad. A little metallic maybe, but for 89p and the easy abv, you really can't complain. I've had far more pricey beers that I like less. Bottle from Aldi.
3.1Pours clear amber with white foam head. Aroma is bit weak, malty, bit fruity, bit hoppy. Taste is quite nice, malty and aromatic. (Velp 2208)
2.7Słodowy aromat. Barwa złota, klarowne, niska piana. W smaku słód połączony z ledwie wyczuwalną goryczką. Nudne, bez polotu.
3.6500ml bottle
Colour is a dark brown ale with a two finger white head. Aroma is of berries and dark fruits with hints of toffee and caramel. Taste is of toffee and caramel and quite a sweet taste with fruits and of roasted malts. Quite a light beer. Bitterness is about right. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth. Overall a good beer, very drinkable and very refreshing and I would drink again.
2.5Bottle. Clear amber body with no head or lacing. Steady carbonation. Aroma of aniseed and tea. Flavour of earth and rust. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Flat and dull.
2.3# 2857; 4/2022. Biscuit and earthy aroma. Brilliant amber body; off-white head with low persistance. Earthy, soapy, slightly mouldy. Bad bitter with faults. 0,5 l, bottle, supermarket, Lincoln (Lincolnshire, England).
3.1July 2021. 500ml dark bottle, filtered, from a mixed box of six bought in Tesco. Good, drinkable session beer. This works well, and is a lesson to other breweries on how to brew low abv quality beer. [3.1]
Feb, 2013. 500ml dark glass bottle from Aldi for 99p. This is a good bargain. Very drinkable beer. Nice, juicy malt with a dash of lingering hops. Good mouth feel. very enjoyable. Tastes fresh. No awareness of pasteurisation. Lovely drop. Production techniques and ingredients are improving all the time, and costs are coming down. Happy days. [3.2]
July 2012. 500ml dark glass bottle from Tesco. Murray WImbledon Final. Irn Bru and gentle toffee malt with a dusting of hops in the finish. Drinkable and attractive. An enjoyable session ale. [3.1]
Jan, 2011. 500ml bottle from Aldi, Gillingham. A light, crisp, dry orange coloured beer. Few hops. It’s drinkable and quite acceptable. There are dry, soap-stone flavours, and a hint of Irn Bru, and the end of a cheap bottle of orange juice. Some lingering bitterness. [2.7]
May, 2003. Keg, Banks’s Saloon Bar, Blackpool. Smooth head, which soon goes, leaving an attractive lace. Pale yellow with orange highlights. Light burnt orange in the nose. Huge fruit burst, mainly soft citric, some lemon, some lime, some quince. Citric theme continues into increasingly bitter finish, quite cleansing. A refreshing and pleasing brew which only becomes stewed very late in the finish. [2.5]
2.7From bottle, less than £1. Pours pleasant amber, Aroma standard bitter. Taste- Malt, rich and well rounded, low alcohol limits the body, but very satisfying especially with a pie. Good quality unpretentious Midlands beer. Better than some ales three times the price.
3.0Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 20/01/21.
Blast from the past ... drank a lot of the relatively whelming but inoffensive BB when I lived in Wolvo, particularly down the Clarendon Arms (brewery tap).
Golden amber with a decent white head.
Nose is dusty fruits, hint of toffee apple, toasted grains, modest malt aromas, biscuit.
Taste comprises biscuit malt, light apple core, toffee, dried fruits, grains, faint tea leaves.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a modest bitter nip.
Passable for the style.
3.0Bottle: Poured a golden with white frothy head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts. Taste is light bitter, grainy, sweet toffee caramel malt.
3.7Bottle on 16th October 2020 from Co-Op, Kentish Town. Pours clear copper with no foam or lace. Biscuit malt aroma. Tangy fruits and biscuit malt in-mouth. Finish is biscuity with a touch of salt and butter. Medium bodied with a zingy mouthfeel.
3.089 pence bottle from Asda, low expectations. Pours a light amber with small white head; fine. Biscuit and caramel aroma; no surprises also fine. Light body, low carbonation, quite slick on the palate; fine. Taste of biscuit, caramel, quite sweet, bitterness then kicks but doesn’t last long; fine. Ticks all the right boxes for a basic bitter and is good value.
2.1Aroma : Lightly toasted caramel malt, undertone of indistinct tart fruitiness with a grassy hoppy note. Taste : Moderate bitterness throughout with a dry finish, but actual flavours are like the body thin & watery. A very ordinary 'Ordinary/Best'
3.4Bottle from lidl. Nice malt flavours throughout. Would prefer a hoppier finish but for the price (89p) I really can't complain about a beer of this quality.
2.5Gold and frothy with sweet caramel aromas. Light bitterness with a slight tangy finish.
2.7A 500ml bottle from Ringwood brewery shop. Pours a amber colour with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of biscuit, bread & fruit. Light to medium body. Medium slightly fruity bitter finish. Average bitter
2.4Bottle, from historic notes. As Bank's Bitter. Source not recorded. Poured amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, light hop, some fruit and boiled veg. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Wasn't very good.
2.8Pint with the old man while Watching the football in Falmouth.
You know what... I expected a lot worse! It's quite a substitute for the old John Smith's / worthys / cream flow thing.
Nitro infused but comforting amber bitter. Not much body or flavour to be had, but quite refreshing all the same. I enjoyed it, I have to say, but hey, on to finer things!!
3.2Banks's Amber Bitter, 500ml bottle bought from ALDI for 89p !!!
To be honest at that price I wasn't expecting much and as such it exceeded expectations. Possibly not something I'd buy regularly, but quite light and very drinkable - probably great on a lazy summers day.
