4.3 A really good beer with a few fruity hints on the aroma. Very easy drinking as well
3.6 Bottle, 500 ml @ The Old Fishing Shack. Hazy dark brown, off white, thin foam layer stays on top. Aromas of typical British ale, a bit bready, a bit sweet, nutty and caramelistic. Medium body, great carbo (which is quite impressive from a British beer), very rich palate, high class pale ale, this is the one u want to drink all night. Great one again, thanks to Mr. Athos for the suggestion.
4.0 Pre RateBeer review from my 1001 Beers book, where I’ve noted it as a 4/5 score.
3.0 back log rating so unable to comment on aroma , palate, taste etc just rating from old app
3.1 Slightly sweet with mild malt flavours. Doesnt capture any of the magic a bitter has on cask. Just toasted malts with sweet caramel making a mild but quaffable brew!
3.4 Bottle. Backlog rating from bottle collection and historic scoring. Source not recorded. No tasting notes kept, just rating.
3.2 Bottle. (Brief tasting notes and rating from old records) - Rich fruity, heavily malted bitter with some bitter hoppiness. Bitter malty finish. Good. (Backlog)
3.3 Deep brown color. Very earthy with tons of wood and cherries. Low modest bitterness. Verynfocused around he malt backbone. Well put together but not that interesting
3.8 Bottle. Clear copper orange color. White head. Sweet malt aroma. Dry bread. Bready flavor. Some sweet notes. Earthy hops. Nice.
3.2 500ml bottle from Ken Warne grocery store, Darlington. Coppery amber colour, tan foam head and aroma of malt, toffee, caramel. Taste is roasty malt, doughy bready, some caramel, fruity and grassy earthy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy malty bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
2.9 Bottle at home. Clear amber pour, almost no head. Aroma of spicy malts, licorice, aged hops, honey and some stophoest. Flavor is quite bitter malty, spicy, thick body and smooth. Quite dry.
3.4 *Old rating from 2011. Nice toasted beer with hints of malts and caramel. Nuts. Nice and easy to drink. Full and rich with a nice Ale characteristic. Great and round.
3.6 500 ml bottle. Deep copper color with a small frothy beige head with clinging lace. Toasted malt nose has a sharp fruity character. Upfront, more fruity malt with notes of plums and Demerara sugar. Slightly spicy hops in midtaste. Finish is soft and dry. Pleasant and well balanced. A nice example of an English bitter.
3.2 Bottle at home, dark orange beer small head, aroma is some malts, and hop, hint of cardboard, Taste is some malt, some hop, somwhatbitter, meh
3.2 Bottle 0,5ltr: Clear brown colored brew with an dry bitter taste and hints of caramel. Like the use of letters in the beername.
2.7 Hints of dates, dark toffee, licorice and caramel. Subtle aftertaste. Hadn’t expected to like this but yeah, it’s rather good.
3.4 500 ml bottle@home Appearance: clear ruby with nice light beige head. Aroma: hops, malt. Taste: floral hops, mild bitter with licorice. Palate: smooth and dry, medium lasting bitter body, moderate carbonation. Overall: very nice.
2.9 Bottle from notes. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was sweet malts, nutty with some fruity and floral hops. The flavor opens with light sweet malts and citrus. Light bitterness soon follows. This seems to have some age on it. Medium bodied, smooth, just not very exciting.
2.6 500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear amber-brown, thin off-white head. Aromas of metal and malt. Taste is toffee all the way. Thin, watery finish.
3.5 smells sweet nutty deep cooper colour thin head that disappears fast. Lovely sweet flavour with nice bitter balance and bit of general sweet fruitiness. Very tasty and at bargain price from aldi this ones a hit!
3.3 From the bottle, tulip glass. Just a little bit cloudy, rose wine onion red colour. Metallic aftertaste, which is never good, if you ask me, even when is slight. Almost no head. Fruit and pecan, woody character. Sweet malt dominates. English bitter, probably much better form the cask.
2.8 Jewely red color with no head. Aroma of malt and a bit of cherry and ham/pork. Bitter and a bit sour on the front, then malty, then a bit sour and tingly on the end. Flavor is strangely meaty.
3.2 Pours clear, copper colored. Almost no head. Aroma is malt, molasses. maybe a hint of Christmas spices. Medium body. Bitter and acidic finish. Surprisingly lively for so little head.
3.0 Hazy amber with medium light beige short lasting head. Luscious fruity caramel malt, toffee and some woody aromas. Start is mostly rawish medium dry bitter and a touch of malt. Smooth thinnish mouth feel with dry bitter flavours and some spicey hints in the finish. Lotsa nice brit bitter character.
3.2 Botella de 50 cl, adquirida en Cerveceria Internacional. Color ambar. Sabor a malta, caramelo, ligeramente afrutado.
3.4 Samo Pivo, Belgrade. Dark copper, clear. Little head. Red malty aroma. English bitter, chocolate covered cherries. Solid strong bitter, decent ’premium’ style. Grape, molasses. Nice
3.4 Bottle 0.5l at Samo Pivo Belgrade Serbia.Pour it amber color with small white head.Taste and aroma of red pepper, caramel.Good carbonation, bitterness.
3.3 Cor avermelhada, creme com média formação. Bom aroma de malte tostado. Muita torrefação no sabor. E ótimo lúpulo. Alguma acidez no retrogosto.
3.7 Famed English bitter from a well-respected family brewery, with thinnish, off-white head and pure, warm amber colour; aroma softly and sweetishly malty, caramel, grapefruit, a bit woody; taste malty, nutty with gentle spicy notes, slowly getting dryer and ending in a long, leafy and herbal hop bitterness typical of Kent Goldings.
