Bax Bier Koud Vuur

Bax Bier Koud Vuur

Waar rook is, was vuur!

Moutig, rokerig, koffie, chocolade. Licht zuur, licht zoet en medium bitter. Zacht, niet te complex maar wel lekker.
3.7 Bottle at home from Sterk, Amsterdam, 26th January 19. Pours a very dark brown, not thick. Aroma is slight smoke, dark chocolate. Taste chocolate, smoke, dark malts, roasty. Not bad

3.6 Draught, taster. Sampled on the 22/11/2018 at «Baxbier», Groningen (The Netherlands). Dark brown colour with a medium tan head. Aroma is caramel malts, roasted bread, bacon and burnt toffee. Taste is smokey bacon, roasted malts and caramel. Finish is intense smokey and roasty. Next one please!
3.2 Thanks RW80 - Euro Swap 3/2018 Dark cola body with minimal, vanishing beige head. Aroma is dried fruits, some caramel. Taste is malty sweet, with a nice roasted counterpart which releases dark chocolate notes. Dry, sweetish and slightly smoked finish. Medium body, flat carbonation, oily texture.

3.6 29/V/18 - 33cl bottle, shared @ home - BB: VIII/2021 (2018-733) Thanks to Brambo for the bottle! Clear dark brown beer, big creamy irregular beige head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of chlorine, more chlorine, quite some caramel, not getting much smoke here, some sweet malts, hint of chocolate and a very faint roast. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty bitter, bit sweet, little smoky, dried fruits, caramel, soft roast, malty. Aftertaste: more roasted notes, some coffee, bitter touch, some cocoa powder, fig jam, little sourish, burnt raisins, raisin bread.
Geur: cacao, koffie, mokka, gerookte mout. Smaak: Chocolade, karamel, koffie en de rokerigheid. Afdronk: lange zoet, bittere nasmaak. Had iets meer body mogen hebben.
3.7 Bottled, 330ml at Cafe de Grendelpoort, Valkenburg, Limburg, Netherlands. Black with beige head. There is an earthiness to this, licorice within the darkly roasted malts, drying and bitter. There is a slight smoked note to the beer with a damp bonfire note. Very decent.
3.7 Dark brown color with a two-finger high beige head. Medium body, lively carbonation, almost no lacing. Aroma of chocolate, licorice, caramel, some smoked ham and some mild sugary fruity scents. Subtle taste of roast, dark chocolate, wood, some molasses, caramel, nuts, spices and some smoke. Nice and easy drinkable one.
3.4 Bijzonder heftige smaak. Lekker om langzaam te drinken
3.3 Fles gedeeld tijdens Winterbierfestival in Hoogeveen. Droog, bitter, koffie, zoettonen, licht rook, chocola, roast. (12-2014).
3.5 (Rate 07/3/03/18: 7-3-8-3-15 = 3.6) Bottle pours clear deep dark-brown with small beige head, nearly disappearing. Aroma is nice: roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, light smokey. Taste is under medium sweet and under medium bitter, little bit candy sugar-like but also somewhat nutty; aftertaste is more bitter. Rather soft carbo, and a bit oily mouthfeel; but body feels more than 6.2 ABV. Well balanced porter, with a right amount of bitterness; might have a bit more smoke though. (Re-rate 22/10/22: 7-3-7-4-14 = 3.5) This time probably a new recipe with 6.5 ABV. Still a deep dark-brown pour, but now with nice beige head, slowly diminishing, so limited retention. Aroma is somewhat but not strong smokey, also syrup, and a bit dried fruits; not really chocolate anymore. Taste with same senses; mix of mild sweet and moderate bitter. Still a rather full body. Still a nice bitterness, but with different senses. Is it that much changed, or didn't I taste well in '18?
3.4 Sehr, sehr dunkel. Geruch nach Beeren, süßlich, leicht rauchig. Im Geschmack eher wenig rauchig. Wässrig.
3.2 33 cl bottle served in snifter. Poured deep dark red with small one finger tan head that dissipated quickly. Lots of carbonation. Aroma: smoke, smoked ham, vanilla, caramel, milk chocolate. Taste: Chocolate, smoke, caramel, vanilla, cola, dark fruit. Light body with smoked and roasted bittersweet finish. Very watery mouthfeel. It's ok but nothing special.
3.7 medium white mokka coloured head, black with brownish hints coloured body, liquorise roasted malts herbs some hay like smell, medium co2 medium bitter chocolat cacao roasted malts some herbs taste creamy a bit thick body some chocolat ice cream feeling in the start some smoke in the end
3.7 Dark brow pour with a light tan head. Notes of roasted malts, smoke, dark chocolate, more roast. Simple and enjoyable.
3.7 What I really like about this porter is that they’ve added just the right amount of smokeyness.
3.6 Dark brown colour with off-white head. Aroma roast, beefy and coffee. Taste of roast malt, dark chocolate with a rough edge.
3.3 on weekend in vlissingen on New Year's Eve dark brown colored body with an off white head and with a roasted malt coffee aroma a roasted malt coffee hops caramel sweet dry bitter taste with a dry bitter finish
3.4 0,33 l bottle. Pours reddish dark brown with a finger of frothy, lasting tan head. Aroma is very much smoked, smoked ham, some coffee and roasted malt, chocolate and even a hint of caramel. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is light and drinkable, texture is slick and carbonation average. Finish is quite long, smoked aroma and chocolate fade to a nice lasting mellow dry bitterness.
3.6 Bottle at home, dark brown brown beer, small head. Aroma is malt, smoke. Taste is malt, smoke, roasted, Sweet, some bitterness, nice one.
3.2 Bottled 330ml. -from Pivoljub Ljubljana. Dark brown coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, caramel and whiff of smoke in the nose. Light roasted malt, caramel, light chocolate, mild notes of smoked bacon with touch of alcohol and mild smoky finish. Nothing special here. 6.3%ABV
