Big Bear is a big, black, stout you can really sink your teeth into. The bold, roasty, caramel malt flavor is balanced by Centennial and Cascade hops.

3.8Bottle. Black colour, minimal brown head. Aroma is intensive prune and chocolate, also ash, maple syrup, a bit of resin. Alcohol does not disturb. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Creamy texture, a bit too thin. Very good.
4.1355ml bottle. Pours very dark brown with a thick creamy beige head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits, roast malts, chocolate. Taste of dark fruits, caramel, chocolate, roast malts, also a nice hoppy bite to balance it, sweet-ish with a bitter finish. Medium bodied, smooth, soft carbonation. Great imperial stout, well balanced, any more hops and you'd have yourself a very nice Black IPA!
3.6Caramel, coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, licorice and pine in nose. Pours very dark brown with beige head. Taste is sweet with caramel, chocolate, pralines, coffee, licorice, cherries and pine. Medium bitter finish, soft to average carbonation. Overall solid stout.
3.013/20 very drinkable stout, big taste, slightly bitter aftertaste, subtle milky sweet taste
3.5Bottle 355ml at home.BBE 2017-01-11. From Beergium. Pours pitch black with brown head. Roasted malts, dark bread, licorice, hint of dark chocolate, malty bitterness. Full body, average carbonation.
4.2Bottle from Bottle Baron. Black body with a medium beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of blueberry, earth, chocolate, orange, syrup and cranberry. Flavour of chocolate, caramel and grassy hops. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. I loved the ‘berry’ aroma of this Stout; this is a beer that verges into Black IPA territory.
3.9Small pour at Rohnert Park location. Dark, muddy brown, small ring of beige head. Seems kind of subdued, but picks up the pace fast. Rich roast grains aroma, some chocolate. Taste brings the bitterness, gently, but enough to wake up the palate. Nice mouth feel, smooth. Bitter bite lingers.
4.0Bottled @ Bishops Arms, Hornsgatan. Black with a dense beige head leaving good lacing around the glass. Deep roasted barley aroma with some pleasant sweet notes, pear, coffee, fudge and nutty. Silky, grainy smooth mouthfeel. Taste is rich, roasted, smootamd bitter. Coffee, cocoa, peat, oats and hints of marshmallows. Long rounded, bitter finish with grainy sweetness in great harmony.
3.912 ounce bottle. Opaque black color. Small creamy tan head. Rich, earthy roasted malt aroma. Sweet roasted malt flavor hints at black licorice and burnt caramel. Notes of anise and charred wood in middle. Oily mouthfeel. Molasses like finish.
3.9Near black pour with a big tan head. Roasty, coffee, chocolate and slightly savoury aromas. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, roast, liquorice, a little sweetness, and a roasty bitter note at the end. Pretty nice.
3.8Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Redstone Liquors, Stoneham. Appearance is clear dark brown with mahogany/red (with light source directly behind), no discernible sparkle, ephemeral ring of beige head with no lacing. Aroma is chocolate, anise, dark fruit, roasted malts. Taste is molasses, licorice, vanilla, roasted malts. Palate is medium-to-full bodied with slick texture, average carbonation and roasted bittersweet finish. Overall, certainly delicious and I liked the anise accent but doesn't stand out amongst stiff competition in this class.
3.4Rami Rami is drinking a Big Bear Black Stout™ by Bear Republic Brewing Co. at Kamienica Hoża 41
4.0From 32 Great Power. In Teku glass. Playing Green Cat. 5 months after bbf (my fault) Herbal hoppy notes like in a Black IPA, some vanilla and chocolate. Abv well hidden
3.5Pours almost black with nice reddish hints if seen through light. About two fingers of mocha coloured head, ok retention and nice lacing. Semi-soft and fairly intense aroma shows caramel, roasted malts, plus notes of coffee and berries. Taste starts quite sweet with a fair caramel malts presence, balanced enough by roasted malts, with notes of chocolate and coffee in the background. Finishes quite dry (especially per style) and slightly bitter, with a bit of lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium to dense in body with light carbonation, overall pretty intense in terms of mouthfeel, but still going down quite easy. All in all i wasn't impressed, but it's a fairly intense and very clean, well made imperial stout.
3.8Bottle in Seattle. Creamy, rocky tan foam. Dark brown-black, malty. A bit sticky on nose, malty and a grape edge. Fruity bitter malt body. Fairly strong carbonation. Good bitterness. Some bitter cocoa. Very nice dark, dry stout.
3.9Rich jammy and roasty aroma, with caramel, dark malts, stale coffee and sweet candy. Taste is also sweet and roasty, following the nose with chocolate liquor, ash, spicy leather, some weird stale bitterness in the aftertaste. Good, but lacks that complexity that I want in an imp.
3.5Bottle, 8.1%. Clear dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and little coffee. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, sweet, lacto?, little liquorice, hop and medium bitter.
3.8Bottled 355ml. -from Beergium. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown head, chocolate and whiff of wood in the nose. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, some coffee and light hoppy with notes of wood and alcohol. Dry roasty finish. Really nice one.
3.5Just a notch about your typical big, big imperial stout. A bit too thin.. the aroma a bit too reserved. Nice though.

3.8Bottle from Saveur bière.com. Roasted malts, caramel... It’s a pretty good stout
4.1A very nice stout! Black in color with a light tan head. Roasted character is subtle and well balanced with the hops. Not too bitter, but flavorful to the finish.
3.5330 mml bottle. Tasted on the 13/07/2017. Black colour with a medium and frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted hops, roasted malts, caramel and liquorice. Taste is medium sweet with caramel and medium roasty. Aftertaste is dry with a touch of burnt caramel. Next one please!
3.8Bottle. Dark brown color. Aroma: dried fruits, dried mushrooms, caramel, wine. Taste: caramel, port wine, dried fruits, prunes, not bad.
4.0Chmiele: Cascade, Centennial
Kolor: Ciemnobrązowy z delikatnymi rubinowymi refleksami.
Piana: Świetna, puszysta i ciemno kremowa piana. Drobne pęcherzyki powietrza pękają do średnich bąbelków.
i delikatnej lukrecji.
Smak: W smaku o dziwo dość bogate i wieloskładnikowe.
Pojawia się wysoka paloność, ale
szybko kontrowana nutami kawy, gorzkiej czekolady, orzechów, lukrecji, kakao, pralinek belgijskich, karmelu, kruchych ciasteczek i lekkiego miodu.
Wysycenie: Niskie.
Podsumowanie:
Profil Imperialnych Stoutów został jednak zachowany i piwo zaskoczyło szerokim wachlarzem doznań sensorycznym.
Fajny, pijalny trunek na zakończenie dnia ;-)
4.0Hyvin tumma lasissa, ei juurikaan vaahtoa. Tuoksu selvästi makea ja luumumainen. Siirappisuus dominoi tuoksussa, mikä hieman poikkeaa totutusta. Loistava IS kaikin puolin.
