3.7Bottle. Bronze and clear with a small virtually non existent head. Medium body and slightly hoppy with some maltiness in the background. Nothing very exciting but still pleasant to drink.
3.6Taster at Taphouse. Pale amber with light head that leaves curtains of lacing. Malty aroma. Taste is more of the malts, toasty, finishes dry and a tad bitter.
3.6Clear gold, tall head.
Aromatic nose.
Full body, flavorful, assertive mouthfeel with more heat than expected for the abv, lingering dry, bitter finish.
Aggressively bitter, dry, crisp.
Overpowering hops despite plenty of malt, resinous, complex.
Great beer if this is your style. I miss s bit more body and sweetness.
3.7Bottle in Seattle. Fairly thick head, pale brown-orange with lightest cloudiness. Nose is balanced green-piney hops with some bready malts under. Thick piney flavor, some orange zest with full bodied west coast hop flavors. Balancing malts that are just overpowered by hops. Many other brewers would have this as an ipa but this makes sense as an apa with the crispness of the bready malts. Clean profile, very tasty.
3.412 oz bottle purchased as a single at Lukas Liquors in Overland Park, Kansas. Date is stamped on the lower part of the bottle, though I can’t read it. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a foamy one inch white head. The aroma is grass, dry floral, and some fruit malt. The taste is cracker malt, sort of a dried fruit citrus, and the dry floral towards the back. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation and the floral finish. I’m not sure this was terribly fresh, but still tasty.
3.4Bottle from BevMo. Hazy golden/amber in color. Lightly sweet floral hop nose. Grains and hops up front. Good maltiness. Full mouthfeel. Smooth and sippable. Well balanced.
4.2Good beer. Great flavor. Usually hard to find. I will definitely drink this again
3.2330ml bottle (thanks fatphil). Clear golden color. Huge size, white hea, stays. Fruity, sweet, citrus, sweet in aroma. Sweet, malty, citrus, fruity in taste. Fruity, citrus, malty and sweet in aftertaste. Soft bitterness. Solid brew.
2.8Bottle (thanks fatphil). Pours golden. Aroma is fruity, cucumber, citrus. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fruits, citrus, sugar, grapefuit. Finish is sugary and dry. Overall: drinkable, but clearly past it's prime.
3.3355ml bottle (Ales By Mail) (6:4:6:4:13=3.3)
Gold, huge persistent frothy head. Gentle sweet fruity piney hops in the aroma, some caramelly malts too. Taste shows both of those, and that they are in balance. Bitter hopping is a little soapy, but that aspect is fortunately quite brief. Nice simple thirst-quenching pale ale.
3.4354 smth ml bottle, thanks FatPhil. Pours clear golden, thick off-white head stays nicely, lacing. Aroma is fruity, orange, tangerine, caramelly. Taste is caramelly, grassy hoppy, piney, orange peel. Piney finish. Medium bodied, average carbo. Well, not bad, drinkable.
1.8Well, I've passed this bottle by many times because I thot I already tasted it. But no! Here goes: Pale off yellow with an orange tint, chunks floating around. Taste is almost IPA but not quite. Seems to have quite a personality. Mild hop perfume nose. Gets more like an IPA as the session continues. Not impressive at first but finishes with a big bitter ending. Yes, now I'll say it can qualify as an IPA. Does not hide alky well and to say this is sessionable is a misnomer.
3.6Clear light copper. Plenty of juicy and citrusy hops, some caramel malt. The flavor is pretty aggressively bitter up front, with a nice pithy grapefruit quality, fades to a slightly sweeter middle, the finishes with a lingering bitterness. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Very solid APA.
3.8Tasty pale ale, big on West Coast pine-n-citrus hops, but offering up a gentle malt sweetness that pairs nicely with the bitter back end. Starts with a good mix of caramel and cereal grains, then takes up moderate grapefruit and orange notes before developing a sticky, resinous pinecone finish. Creamy texture remains sparkly enough to pad the IBUs on the fade. Nose lacks much oomph, but the pour's absolutely gorgeous, coming out a clear gold with a thick, lasting white head and tons of lace. Great go-to pale.
3.8Bottle. Clear light amber color with white head. Aroma - Pine, grapefruit, tangerine, malt. Taste - Medium bitterness, light sweetness, grapefruit, resin, toasted malt, orange.
3.212floz bottle, BBD: 12.07.2017, $1.50 unit cost, pint glass. Appears gold with sediment in suspension. Decent head creation and retention. Herb-citrus aroma carries over to the palate. Not a whole lot of malt backing, but after having BR’s Pace Car this is much better - nor is it as harshly bitter. Decent enough for a try.
3.8Pours slightly hazy, golden amber. Nice complex hoppy aroma, hints of malt and spice. Flavor is outstanding - big malt base adds body and complexity to a complex hop mixture of resin and citrus and fruit; hints of caramel malt sweetness on behind a crisp, hop forward presence. Great juicy mouthfeel. Overall, this one is in the top of the APA list.
4.1Bottle from Ales By Mail, enjoyed at Åserød after a long hike. Pours hazy deep golden with a big creamy white head. Aroma of fresh crisp citrus, lovely and inviting fresh fruity.Taste is crisp fresh citrus perfectly balanced by a good malty body, exceptional from start till finish. Dry clean mouthfeel, lingering dry oranges, Kernelish actually.
4.012oz bottle. Light copper with medium white head. Nice wet hop aroma. Sticky hop bitterness with some sugary taste. Full body. Very good.
4.012oz bottle sediment filled gold pour soapy white head aroma of citrus and pine taste the same very nice
3.9DATE: July 7, 2017... OCCASION: watching Indiana Jones with the boys for the first time--a truly memorable night... GLASSWARE: Stoudt’s signed pint.. pours a dark, cloudy amber with a brisk, white, foamy head that creams its lace neatly around its rim... head retention is resilient... a glorious bouquet of grapefruit, mango, apple, and a nice balance of bread malts make for an alluring pale ale... effervescent, lively, and easily drinkable... at 6% ABV, reasonably weighted.... medium-bodied, creamy, and a trigger for each successive sip... the grapefruit and mango set this squarely in the West Coast, while the herbal and earthy natures combine to build a profile that rivals the growing number of great pale ales out there... caramel and dough malts leave the aftertaste formidable and memorable... that flavor diversity may set it apart from other pales... another quality brew from Bear Republic...
3.214/20 really lemony citrus against a strong malt backbone, quite an aggressive taste in a good way, doesn't have that straw taste some pale ales have.
3.5On tap at Bearden Beer Market. Clear gold, with a big white head Aroma is cereal, and toast, with a good deal of pine and citrus. Very drinkable. with a lot of citrus and resin, notes. Tasty.
3.3Bottled 355ml (Beer Republic EU)
Hazy orange colour, small steady white head, Aroma has apricot and some citrus. Light to medium-bodied. Front has grapefruit, then sweetish fruityness and citrus. Lingering fruity bitterness in the aftertaste. Could be a bit more fresh for its full potential.
3.5Pours a cloudy, amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is floral and pine hops. Flavor is mostly the floral hops. Hops are stronger on the aroma. Resiny finish with coriander.
3.712 ounce bottle. Hazy Amber orange color is topped by a frothy beige head. Rich malty nose hints at caramel. Tangy toasted malt flavor. Highly carbonated. Sweet fruity notes. Citrusy hops. Good balance.
3.6Bottle from beer republic. Hazy gold to orange color. Thin white head. Medium bitterness, light sweetness. Medium dry body. Aroma and flavour is orange, hops, mango, peach, pineapple.
3.7Bottle from Beers of Europe, drunk at home. Deep gold, looks a tiny bit hazy. Lots of visible carbonation and a big white head. Pineapple, apricot and lemon biscuit in the aroma. Lovely bitter taste, almost too bitter but it pulls back at the right moment for a balanced finish. Fresh nectarine in the aftertaste. Slick body, not over-carbonated. Delightful.
3.76%ABV. IPA.
Poured out deep gold. 10SRM.
Nose is sweet and pine-y coming across as sappy with the faint aroma of curing epoxy.
Mouthfeel is soapy. Palate has sweet malt with wheat toast, toasted grahams and hint of honey. Hops woody, spicy with cilantro, strong on citrus peel and seed flavor with the bite of citrus oil.
Finish is long with citrus oil flavor and pine bitter.
