3.7Location: 22 oz bottle from Hoboken Vine, 5/24/16
Aroma: The nose is bready, with spice, pine hops, and some rye as well, didn’t get much citrus here
Appearance: Murky mostly orange color with a thick, creamy off-white head and coating lace
Flavor: Leans stronger toward the bread / spice up-front, with hop bitterness in the mid-through-close
Palate: Medium-full bodied, a little sticky, a little creamy, and with a strong, heavy dry closure
Overall Impression:
This is some pretty solid stuff for a brewery who’s hoppy beers I have enjoyed for years. Stronger on the spice side than most IPAs and DIPA, more reminiscent of a Rye DIPA. It’s also not the most complex citrus or pine hop aroma or flavor for an IPA, but it’s got the bitterness part covered. Pretty nice looking beer with a good mouthfeel, and the flavor is solid too.
3.8American pint, keg. Pours medium amber with medium light haze and a medium thin white head subsiding average. Scent is medium light citrus and light soap. Taste is dense early hops with very high bitterness. Hints of hickory smoke on the nose. Little bit of wood resins and a little soap. Mouthfeel is medium dense creamy and light dryness. Nearly a great beer.
3.6Bottle from Wegmans in Collegeville. The Mach 10 poured an orange color with a thick, pillowy beige head. The nose features some grassy, fruity and piney hops, along with a good amount of bready malt. The body is very well balanced. Nothing about this beer really stands out. The hop profile is delicious, with piney and bitter flavors. There’s just the right amount of malt on the palate as well. But nothing really jumps out of the glass that separates this beer from another.
3.5Bottle. Pours out a nice golden / amber color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is of bitter, oily hops, citrus zest, some sweet cereal notes, sharp bitterness. Taste is solid, sharp oily hops, lots of citrus peel, grapefruit, mild cereal notes. Lots of bitterness, oily resiny.
4.0Not my favorite in an awesome family of IPAs and IIPAs from the Bear, but a nice big blast of bittersweet citrus, with some accompanying spice as well. Fairly juicy with a bitter earthy finish.
3.8Bottle shared at AA (the bar, not the group). Big orange character with a juicy mouthfeel, fresh pine with a minty edge, notes of biscuit and marmalade, dry hoppy finish. Cascade really shines nicely in this dangerously drinkable iipa.
3.8Bottle shared at AA. Thanks Davido! Hazy orange golden color with a big soapy off-white head. Big hop aromas with orange, pine, biscuity malts and pine standing out. Medium body but hides the abv very well. Sweetness on the palate with good pithy, citrusy bitterness. Long, bitter finish that lingers. Very nice.
3.8In the glass it has a honey amber color with a nice head. Lots of fruit on the nose with flowers and herbs. Taste has tropical fruits and citrus followed by a big wave of bitterness. Long finish.
3.8Bottle pour. Light bodied but hoppy. Nice but balance could be better. Overall pretty good
3.2Backlog. 22 oz bottle from Bullfrog Wine & Spirits. Hazy orange appearance with a sticky off-white head. Aroma of musty yeast, hop resin, citrus fruits, pine, light peppery spice, caramel malt and light toffee. Similar flavor, tastes a little old honestly. Medium to full body with a goopy, light syrupy mouth feel. Meh, just OK for the style. Kind of hard to drink after a bit.
4.5Aroma: caramel, citrus, floral,
Appearance: clear gold, white head
Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness,
Palate: medium body, creamy, soft carbonation, long finish,
Delicious
3.4Tallahassee, Fl - Market Square Liquors - 22 oz bomber. Hazy dark orange pour, sticky snow white head that leave plenty of sticky lacing, Aroma has some orange marmalade fruitiness, a touch of booze, some raw cake mix. Flavor is a little bit too heavy in the malt side of the spectrum, some raw cake mix, a touch of citrus bitterness, just a little bit too much, too sweet when it comes down to it, Thick, sticky mouthfeel however. These Double IPAs are starting to wear on me.
3.5Bottle at our monthly bottle share. As expected, this had aromas and flavors of hops. citrus and grassy hops were not too bad. Somewhat over bitter on the finish.
3.5Above average DIPA. Aroma of darkness with spicy hops. Light golden copper color that was slightly cloudy. Flavor was bitter up front that evened out halfway through. Supporting malt background controlled the bitterness.
4.3Bottle from Keg N Bottle: Huge boozy aroma that is accompanied with an overload of floral citrus like hop while a big whiff of syrupy malts hang in the balance. Really enjoyed how much alcohol was smelling this beer. Appeared as a solid gold bar color with thick foam cap which eventually simmered down. The drink is initially bitter with a chewy mouthful of hops that are strong but not overwhelming with acids or hop oils. Really solid double IPA and will certainly last on my memory of beers especially because of the recipe name of Mach 10.
3.765 cl bottle @ hotel room, Los Angeles.
Pours hazy amber color with a small head. Pine on the aroma, resin, hops, caramel malts. Sweet malty flavor, resinous hops, orange and mild caramel. Bitter palate, alcohol moderately well hidden. Decent maltier DIPA.

3.8650 ml bottle. Enjoyed at Los Angeles, CA. Pours a hazy golden amber colour with a small head. Aroma of citrus, resin, biscuit and orange sweetness. Flavour of nice biscuity maltiness, grapefruit, resiny bitterness, caramel and some herbal notes. Almost full bodied. Heavily hopped resiny finish. Nice.
3.6650ml bottle
Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, chewy candy, grass, citrus and pine. Taste is stingy, spicy and hoppy with some caramely malts, toffee, grass and citrus. Finish is stingy hoppy, stuffy and sweetish with some resin, caramel and toffee. Quite stingy.
3.665 cl bottle @ hotel room, Los Angeles. Aroma has sweet fruit candy and grapeftuit. Also caramel. Flavour has gluey tones, caramel and tropical fruits. Also menthol. Arona was promising but flavour is just too gluey.
3.4Aroma of clove, orange, hops, and pine, touch of malt and alcohol. Taste is similar but also has a solid pine and hop bite, not as complex as the smell actually. Was a beautiful blood orange dark coloring, white thick head that retained some lacing. Really beautiful. The taste is too impactful, this should’ve gone a tad lighter and it would’ve been perfect
3.68/4/15. On tap at Kickback’s. Golden pour with a small off-white head. Nice aroma, lots of great hoppiness, citrus, some pine, spice. Good but disappointing flavor, lighter hop character, more malt presence, light caramel. Not bad.
3.5On tap at Oskar Blues Liquids and Solids. Second time randomly had a Bear Republic hoppy brew there. Pine and citrus, strongly overlayered and a bit rough. Some of BR’s hoppy stuff has been good and some is just ok. Unfortunately .... 13.6
3.9Bottle. Amber pour with a tall white head. Aroma is big pine and floral hops with zesty notes, caramel and citrus. Taste is big spicy hops, caramel, citrus, floral hops, pine and hop resins. Body is medium-full and very chewy with a dense, creamy carbonation. Very sticky as well with a slight warming during the finish. Ends with more caramel, citrus, spicy hops, floral notes, pine resins and hop oils. A big, oily, semi-sweet hop bomb!
3.4Bomber->SA. Cloudy copper with moderate offwhite head. A: heavy citrus and floral hops. T: bitter citrus and pine hops, caramel malt. Good, but expected more.
4.1On tap at Pinocchio’s. Apple cider color, next to no head. Ripe citrus fruit aroma. Huge citrus flavor, tangerine, orange and grapefruit. Some earthy, resinous hops as well. Huge bitter finish. Oily on the tongue. Big beer. Like!
3.2On tap in Chelsea, NYC-- Pours hazy blonde with thin white head. Very discrete hoppy nose. Aromas are grapefruit, grass, alcohol, a soapy note. Oily texture, lively carbonation. Long bitter finish. Harsh bitterness, poorly aromatic.
3.8Poured from 22 oz. bottle.
Lightly hazy, amber orange with a 3-finger billowy off-white head and very good lacing.
Aroma of grapefruit, pine, orange, tangerine, mango and caramel.
Taste of pine resin, grapefruit, orange peel, earthy hops, caramel, pineapple and other light fruit.
Medium/full body and medium carbonation.
3.7From a 22 oz bottle. Pours gold with an off white head. Fruity nose. Pine resin flavors. Bitter finish.
3.4Pours hazy golden amber with thin white head. Smell is citrus, floral hops and orange peel. Taste is earthy hops, citrus and strong malt backbone. Medium body medium carb.
3.9Draft at Das Beirgarten. It was a bit on the warm side. Clear amber pour with a white head. Pine hops and malty aromas. Loads of resin and caramel malts. Good body and mouthfeel.
