1.7 Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver Hazy blond color. Weird aroma, footy and lemony, cheese, glue. Excessively sour, and with too much yeast flavor (autolysis?). Very bad.
3.1 On tap at St. Augustines on Rare Beer Tap Takeover. Pale golden, white head. The beer is very sour, vinegary, with marinated tomatoes notes. Very unusual, but refreshing. Not a my stuff, definitely :-)
3.3 A dream beer for sure a long want for a very long time. On draft at stein and vine, poured a yellow color straw like with aromas of tart lemon, wheat, vinegar and musk. Flavors are tart lemon and wheat overtaken by vinegar. This has been one of my whales I have been looking for a very long time disappointed as too how much vinegar flavors I get. I thought this was going to be the gold standard but is not. Decent overall but too much vinegar.
3.5 on tap chiara velata naso non molto intenso in bocca acetica limone sottaceto aspra poco corpo
3.8 Pours clear golden orange with a one finger white head with decent lacing. Aroma is of sour fruits, Greek yogurt, some vinegar, salt, some light bready malts, some funk, and some grass. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma and is pretty tart. Has a medium-light body with a slightly creamy mouthfeel and a pretty dry, pretty sour, long finish. Overall, a excellent berliner weiss that is super refreshing.
4.1 Pours a cloudy golden yellow with fizzy head. Aromas of mild hops, citrus, and some sour notes. Sour acidic start with some good hops, nice sour citrus finish.
3.8 Draft... Hazy straw-colored pour with a brief, white head. The aroma features white wine, vinegar and lemon. Medium-bodied with zippy carbonation. The flavor is very sour, citric/lemony and acetic. Lengthy, sour, tongue-numbing finish. There is a boatload of misplaced acetic acid here, but no acetone or other off-flavors. Loving the super-sourness (and I love vinegar), but a Berliner weisse shouldn’t contain this much acetic acid. Still, I can't help but love it, and I don't normally rate to style here.
3.4 @ zeitgeist 16-3-5: lätt syrlig med toner av citrus och blommor. En ok frisk och trevlig eftersmak.
3.3 On tap at Zeitgeist. A bit hazy yellow with a small white head. Tart with lemon, light bread, some vinegar and light grass. The body was light. An ok one.
3.2 Draft at the brewery, served in a flight. Pours a cloudy pale white wine color with no head. A bit acetic, with vinegar, lemon juice, white grape skins, sourdough, yogurt, and wheat. Light-bodied, with low carbonation and a dry, acetic mouthfeel. A bit much for the style.
3.7 Pours a hazy hay yellow color with aroma of citrus and vinegar. Tart citrus flavor with some barnyard funk. Very nice.
2.0 Sample on tap at the brewpub. Hazy super pale yellow pour with thin fizzy white head. Aroma is sour, vinegar, ketchup, fruity notes. Taste is grassy, vinegar. Palate is light dry, solid acid burn.
3.1 Draught at Bear Republic. Almost clear hay yellow liquid with minimal white head. Aroma of lemon, apple skin, light grain and light vinegar. Taste is dry and light to medium sour with notes of lemon, apple skin, light vinegar and grain. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Bit vinegary.
3.0 Draft at source. Nose is sharp lactic with a bit of fubkiness like brett to it. Pale yellow. Taste is immediately lactic sharp sour with hints of apple juice. Okay
3.6 Draught at Stone Liberty Station, San Diego. "Sour Saturday" during SDBW 2015. Cloudy yellow beer with a small head. Bready aroma, salty pickles (first time I use that in a rating) grassy, citrus, some dough.sourish bready flavor, salty pickles, grapes, floral notes, some grapefruit. Quite ok.
3.8 4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Hazy light yellow with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, light tart and vinegar notes. Tastes of tart acidic notes, lemon lime citrus. Light body with a dry finish.
3.6 Big watermelon for sure. Big citrus and some apricot. Pours hazy golden with decent head. Some yeast. Tangy finish. Tap at Churchkey.
2.7 Poured from a tap. Part of a sour flight at The Birch. Cloudy lemonade appearance. Sour milk aroma (not in a good way). VERY sour, and not being a fan of the style, I don’t yet appreciate the benefits.
3.8 Poured from a tap. Hazy yellow color, small short lived white head. Sour aroma. Medium body with a nice tart lemon and cheese flavor and a nice finish.
3.9 Pours a hazy yellow with no head. Tart, wheat, lemon and funk aroma and flavors. Light body and moderate carbonation. Lemon and tart finish.
4.0 Growler fill from G&G. Pours a hazy light yellow color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is tart, citrus, light funk. Huge sour in the flavor that lingers into the finish. Nice funk. Very tasty.
3.8 Pours a hazy yellow color with a small beady white head. Notes of white vinegar, fresh wheat, sour pineapple candy, and some oak.
3.2 Cloudy pour with a thin head that dies quick. Aroma is tart. Taste is a blast of tartness upfront with a little berry sweetness. Dry finish. Seems so sour at first, but melts away on the finish. Medium bodied.
3.4 On tap at Sour Solstice. Pours a hazy gold with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong lemon, oak, dough. Thin mouth, lemonhead sour, very acidic, vinegar, good.
3.7 Draught at the Rosamunde, San Francisco, CA. Hazy pale yellow colour, no head. Sourness, berries, white currant and tartness in the aroma. The flavour is sourness, tartness, berries, vinegar and currants. Strong and tasty. Very expensive though.
3.1 Pours an electric yellow, pineapple juice color. Aroma is of pineapple juice, and citrus aromas. Taste is tart, sour, flavorful juice that tickels the tongue. A lasting aftertaste of champagne bubbles, and citrus. A light flavorful beer that was a joy to drink because of the low alcohol content and complex flavor for the style.
3.5 Draught. Pours a very slightly hazy dark golden color with almost no head on it whatsoever. Nose is decidedly tart with a bit of funk to it and some light sour fruit to it. Taste is quite sour as well, though refreshing and easy to drink.
4.1 Draft pour at Indigo. Pours an apple juice color with no head. Sweet and sour lemon aroma. Flavor matches with aroma, with a lemon tartness that continues to intensify. Super sour citrus. I love that. Great addition to the style. Good stuff.
3.5 This poured a slightly hazy straw color with a white head. Aroma was of fruity Brett, light lemon juice and wheat. Flavor similar, but borders on the edge of acetic and very mouth puckering
2.5 Sour. Lemon, white grape, wine. Decent. Too sour. Weird aftertaste. I wouldn’t call it best wild beer
