8 Ball - Big, Bold & Ballsy

One of our earliest recipes, we wanted to push this big IPA all the way. So we packed it full of Rye and dry hopped it for days with American hops, using old pool balls to weigh the hop sack down in the beer. Hence the name.

Go ahead and sink a few, be rude not to really.

3.5 Can, big bubbly head, quite deep and quite clear orange color, aroma of pine, some citrus and a hint of peach, fruity, piney flavor with a mellow medium shrubby bitterness and a light but noticable sweetness. Nice and satisfying.
3.8 Can pours bronze with finger of head. Caramel, resin, mango aroma. Good malty beer, the rye comes through especially in the finish. Grapefruity resiny bitterness. Nice beer.

Ottima.

4.1 Can, courtesy of LazyPyro. Thanks a bunch Chris. Rye spice, tropical fruits, caramel, orange, dough. Light to medium spicy sweetness, a bit toasty, light bitterness, well balanced. Medium body with soft carbonation. So tasty, balanced.
3.9 Canette 330ml. Superbe couleur orange /ambrée. Mousse beige laissant dentelles.
3.8 Can, 330 ml @ The Old Fishing Shack, CY. Typical IPA colour, murky deep copper/light brown colour, foam is off white, stays until a while before disappearing. Fruits (peach and nectarine heavy nose, with red juicy orange) and caramel in the background, - complex and very pleasent. Easy and hoppy palate, but not as high IBU as high was in IPAs i've tasted recently. Easy drinking, mouthfully juicy palate, and a very very long grapefruit aftertaste in the mouth. Extra point on the can artwork, this is the one u want to keep on ur shelf. Great stuff again, and a nice suggestion from the owner, Mr. Athos.
Tap @ Gollem Amstelstraat, Amsterdam VI 2018
3.6 Can from Water and Beer, Catania, Italy. Pours hazy amber with a medium, frothy light tan head, medium retention with good retention. Moderate rich spicy rye and grainy-sweet malt, floral and resin hops, moderate hop bitterness, and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
3.6 Some pine and some citrus. Comes together decently. Pours orange with ok head and lacing. Tap in Barcelona.
3.9 33cl can at home. Pours a hazy dark amber colour with a big frothy off white head which leaves a fair amount of lacing and with decent retention. Aroma of citrus, mango, orange, grapefruit, slight rye, malt. Taste is moderate sweet, medium to high bitter with a medium dry finish. Notes of malt, orange, mango, grapefruit, sweet malt, bitter hops. Texture is oily to creamy, medium to light bodied with moderate carbonation
4.4 Can from Alex. Blimey I've heard about Beavertown now I've experienced and understand. This is a strong flavourful IPA, PACKED WITH EVERYTHING. Lovely aroma, sweet fruity, piney, sweet Malt but with dimension. Nothing buscuity or breads, more like a your favourite cheeese toasty. Then the finish. Nice, long lasting bitterness in the throat. The really glorious accomplishment is that this beer remains silky smooth. This is beyond marmalade. I no longer pray to the East, I face Beavertown.
4.0 Can 33cl, from Geers. Pours copper clear with a bubbly sticky head. Nose is all hops, some toffee, some cara malts. Taste is nice nice bitter with a long finish. Hopresin on the palate. Great beer for low ABV!
3.3 Puszka. Na nosie słodowe z karmelem i grapefruitami w tle. Przyjemny balans. W smaku jest slodko, grapefruit w karmelu. Wysoka goryczka i grapefruit na finishu. Nice
3.8 Eingetrübt bersteinfarben mit weißer Schaumkrone. Hopfiger, fruchtiger, malziger Geruch.
3.5 Beavertown balls-up....only kidding. Nice medium/heavy bodied IPA. Satisfying malty/hoppy aftertaste will put hairs on yer chest
2.9 330ml can, unfiltered, from an online shop. Drunk straight from the fridge as is the way with craft beers. I'm OK with Beavertown. This does have malt character, and is not too hoppy for me. I dislike the hop aroma - it smells old and stale, but the malt, especially with the yeast swirled in, is smooth and tasty. Swings and roundabouts.
3.5 Can from Bayleys of Bromsgrove. Deep mahogany, big white head that lasts, some lacing on my glass. Taste is spice, brown sugar, malt, alcohol, some citrus. Definite characteristic rye aftertaste and a good deal of bitterness to finish. Quite a complex offering. Don’t serve too cold.
3.8 Can from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Gushing, pours hazy orange with a big, lasting, frothy, off-white head that leaves lacing. The aroma contains orange & mandarin, grapefruit, yeast, grass, resin & pine, bitter hops, grain & malt. It tastes light fruity/malty sweet and medium, almost heavy, hoppy bitter; yeasty, dry, resinous, bitter finish. Medium body, slick/creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Very drinkable IPA.
3.4 IPA con marcado sabor amargo.
3.2 On tap at Fakin Zagreb. Amber coloured, small off-white head, light caramel in the nose. Toasted malt, caramel, rye and notes of citrusy hops with bitterish sweet finish. Nothing special here.
