Keg, bottle. Previously called ’Barley Champagne’. [Following a cease and desist notice from the Champagne association in France, Beavertown changed the name of the beer. ]

Bramley Apple Saison

A brew to finish a day in the fields! This sparkling wine / beer hybrid perfectly balances the familiar spicy characteristics of the saison yeast and apple tartness with rich honey notes.

3.3 330ml can sent by cesarpball in a bottle swap, many thanks Light hay, wheat, some coriander, apples, spices some toffee. Taste is a bit tart, very balanced and mild, spices and wheaty tastes mix together in a rather typical saison way. Rather nice beer, though not very outstanding. The can was beautiful though :)

3.9 33cl can at home. Clear golden with almost no head. Medium to full body with quite some carbonation. Very sweet with subtle bitter tones. Yeast, sugar, sweet apple, warming alcohol, wood and herbs. Very nice.
3.5 Can. Pours hazy light golden, with a big creamy, off white head. Aroma is wooden yeast, stone fruits, apples and white sugar Medium to full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet, fruity yeast, with hay, grassy notes and wooden barrels, as well as some malts and notes of alcohol. Dry, earthy finish.
3.6 Tap @ Local Pub, Athens-Greece. Color hazy yellow with small white head. Aroma citrus, sweet, lemon, straw. Taste fruits, citric, dry, wood.
3.3 330 ml can. Clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma is citric fruity with a spicy touch. Flavor is nice and refreshing, citric fruit, light acidic apple, mild pale malt and not much bitterness. Medium body and fruity aftertaste that ends up a bit sweet. Alcohol is well hidden. Drinkable, but not too impressive.
3.2 Can, 330ml from Beermerchants, Kent. Gold with white head, heavy carbonation. This proved to be relatively light for the ABV, although there is still a peachy, apricot alcohol note. Sharpish acidity. Drunk whilst watching the early Brexit news, perhaps that ruined my palate.
3.5 DAA; Can 330ML., from Vinmonopolet. Pours large, hazy bronze with a lasting, lacing off-white head. Nose is moderate, malt, stone fruit, white sugar, yeast and spice. Taste is moderat sweet and bitter, balanced with a lasting sugar, light warming spice finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily to sticky, carbonation is soft to average. Abbey white sugar style..
3.2 Bottle. Pours golden with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruitiness, some caramel, and herbs. Flavor is sweet and fruity with some floral notes, caramel, some citrus and yeast. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.7 Bottle from Toft Vin, Copenhagen. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma and taste is malt, some fruits, apples, caramel notes, yeast. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Light bitter finish.
3.6 Pours slightly hazy, not much head at all. Tastes acidic and funky, not really my thing but some cider drinkers would love this.
3.4 On can from Vinmonopolet Norway. Golden hazy color, good foam. Medium aroma intensity; applecider, autumn apples, nice yeast and some fruitiness . Medium body & complexity. Some sourness, ok bitterness. Enjoyable, but a little boozy
3.4 Can from Thirsty, Cambridge, drunk at home. Yellow/gold with a sizeable white head. Not quite clear. The apple dominates the aroma at first, but patience will bring forth that sticky, sugary yeast smell of a good saison. Taste is sweet with an insistent tartness from the apple. It’s a nice combination but a bit messy. Full body with an unwelcome astringency at the end. A very ambitious recipe that doesn’t quite convince, but still an above average brew.
3.6 Aroma: acid, intensive farmhouse notes, apples, funky, belgian phenols Appearance: hazy golden color and white head. Taste: belgian farmhouse, apples, peachy, funky, acid, semi-dry. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, zesty finish. Overall: Nice farmhouse saison, quite interesting taste.
2.4 Can. Yellow straw colour, no head. Full of ripe apples notes and some light tartness. Medium to light body, bit cidery. Not my style, I think apples are not the thing I want in my beer - it tastes like almost cider. Still nice try though.
3.3 Can at Bishops Vasagatan. Slightly hazy golden pour with faint white head. Aroma of apple, light funk, caramel and yeast. Similar taste. A little bit on the sweeter side with a slightly dry, oaky finish.
3.2 Can-- Pours hazy yellow with thick white head. Nose is yeast and apple. Aromas are herbal hops, green apple juice, citrus (lemon and lime), spices. Average carbonation, medium body. Long tart and sweet finish. Interesting idea to mix a saison beer with apple, but the result is rather weird.
3.6 Medium golden to amber body with a large, creamy, egg white head that ends up as a fully covering film and some dense build-up at the walls that laces the glass. Strong aroma of apples and light generic fruits, spices and yeast. Strong flavour of apples, citrus, generic fruits, spicy yeast, pale malts and a bit stinging alcohol. Moderate sweet taste with faint hints of acidity and a long-lasting, moderate bitter finish. Close to full body, oily to sirupy body, quite soft carbonation. A tasty one, that is closer to an extra fruity tripel than a saison. [33 cl can, enjoyed 8 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge, Oslo]
3.2 Clear orange color with white head. Aroma is similar to a sweet cider. Sweet, fruity taste with some yeast and alcohol on the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Quite interesting but it’s a bit boozy for my taste.
3.2 Can 33cl / Lata 33cl. @ LaBIRRAtotium, Madrid, España. A: Hazy golden / Dorado turbio. T/S: Yeast, apple, sweet, citrusy / Levadura, manzana, dulce, citrico.
3.6 Can at Örebro Ölcafé. Fresh smell of apples and some light funk. Similar taste, sweet and malty with caramel. Deep fruity apple flavour.
3.0 Can decanted into Glass... Deep cloudy gold with a fast disappearing white head. Aroma Sweet malt but not much fruit coming through. Full Body very light carbonation. Sweet malts, Stewed Apples mild citrus and caramel After having the Beavertown Bloody'ell I would have expected to have been hit with more fruit flavours... That doesn't mean this was a disappointing drink, just not what was expected.
