3.4 Clear Reddish Copper Color, Medium Small White Froth Head, Light Spotty Lacing. Malt Aroma. Malt, Some Sweet Notes, Caramel, Light Bitter Hop Finish. Not The Best for Style but Decent Enough. Drinkable. OK.
1.7 Lots of rust and some copper in this. Pours amber with ok head. Definitely better cold, and I drank this warm on the beach from a cooler. Bottle.
3.1 Took 2 of these from a friends party, enjoyed at home. It’s ok, nothing outstanding, not a great Oktoberfest brew, but gets the job done.
2.0 Out of the green bottle... Nothing really sticking out worth mentioning... It seems like an average beer.
2.8 Bottle at in-laws into pint glass, clear copper color with white head. Aroma of toasted malt, some grain and faint caramel. Taste adds some earthiness and faint herbal/spicey note. Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp with clean finish. Leans kind of Oktoberfest light.
3.1 12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. Bland and uninteresting. Low on flavor and taste. Stay with a regular Beck’s and skip this one.
2.8 Skunk and cardboard nose. Crystal clear copper, thick yellow head. Cereal grain, dried leaves, honey accent, mild. Light body. Traditional flavor of an authentic maerzen, but very tame.
2.6 Amber color, off white head. Malt, earthy things aroma. Taste is malt, yeast and caramel. Crisp brew. Metallic taste. It isn’t bad but it’s a little boring.
2.5 "for a buck? why not. not nearly as horrid as regular becks. can’t say too much negative about it at all. nearly an average brew. had the right aroma and taste, but was a little lackluster in the delivery."
3.2 A lighter, easy Oktoberfest. Barely any malt, character, but there’s a hint of caramel. The hops are present with some bitter notes. Crisp, thin, light and easy. Overall not bad but not great.
2.9 Bottle at Zoo Brew. Pours a gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of bread and grains with a bit of sweetness underlying. Flavor a good amount of earthy grains with some bread and a touch of sweetness.
3.3 Transfer from BA review on 9-7-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a copper color with a one finger rather fizzy white head. The head has a decent level of retention, fading to leave a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is rather light overall. While light, there are aromas of caramel and a bit of roasted malt. Along with these smells are some notes of apple and some spice. Taste – The taste begins with a roasted and bready taste. The flavors are on the lighter side overall. From the start there is a little bit of caramel and lighter fruits as well (apple and pear). The sweetness grows more toward the middle only to weaken as the flavor advances to the end. Along with the loss of a bit of the sweet, some moderate spice flavors of nutmeg and clove as well as a bit of an herbal flavor comes to the tongue, leaving an overall drier, roasted malt, and lightly spiced flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the average to slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is on the average side. A little more thickness in body may have been slightly better for the roasted malt flavors of the brew, but overall it was a rather drinkable feel and quite decent for the style. Overall – A decent Oktoberfest, but overall a little subdued in flavor. An easy drinking autumn style brew that may be nice when tailgating or just socializing outdoors with friends.
2.2 From a 12 oz. bottle: Clear burnt orange with a cream-colored head. Saaz hops on the aroma with a trace of skunkiness, (should have avoided the green bottles at the grocery store). Flavor is light and almost nonexistent except for the hops. There are much better Octoberfests out there.
1.6 Dont love nor hate it. Amber in color, although rather light. Decent taste, although a little bitter or sour for me.
2.0 Color and appearance is right. Not much aroma too it than a little bit of the sweet malt and a little bit musty. Taste though is like a thin watery seltzer version of an oktoberfest beer. Its ok no real off flavors just a thin version of some better versions out there.
3.1 Amber color , medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt and herbs. Caramel and hop in taste. Decent marzen.
3.4 Pours a fiery copper orange with pristine clarity and a fat head of tan creamy foam that falls well and leaves a ring and spots of sticky lace. Nose is light but malty. Dry white bread crust and a bit of sweet caramel underneath. A faint breath of hop herbal o9n the nose. Taste is lighter than normal. Thinnish body that has all the requisite flavors. It’s malty, dry, crisp and has a the lightly toasty white crust of bread. The caramel is particularly soft and smooth and runs through this drink lovely. The hops impart a slight taste of herbal and a touch of bitterness to the finish. On the first sip there was a faint metallic but it fell back after my palate was indoctrinated. Finishes with an almost citric bit of juiciness before it goes back to dry bread. Middle of the road but tasty refreshing and very easy to drink.
2.8 12 ounce bottle. Pours a red amber with a three inch tan head that lasts. Taste is of malt, caramel, citrus, some hops, grass and barley. Similar aroma. Has a lighter body with a slight bitter finish. Refreshing and easy to drink.
2.6 12 oz. bottle picked up at Party Source from backlog notes 07. Pours a clear amber color with a foamy off white head. The aroma is a mix of toasted grains, light caramel, skunky notes and a hint of leafy hops. The flavor is mainly toasted malts, light hints of caramel, some grass, skunk and light leafy hops. Light watery body, thin. This is not as good as the other Oktoberfests that I tasted about the same time.
3.7 It had a dark burnt orange amber colored body with good clarity. The pour produced a thick and creamy light tan head. The head had decent retention and made some slippery lacing on the glass. There is a pleasant malty character with sweet caramel notes and light hints of spicy hops. The flavor has a modest caramel maltiness with light toasted notes and a good balance of spicy hops. A slight herbal and a very slight metallic comes through as well in the finish. The palate has a slick texture with active carbonation and a medium body.
3.0 Pours a copper color with off-white head. Caramel malt and some citrus on the nose; follows onto the palate. Not too complex, but an average octoberfest style beer.
2.2 Nothing remarkable. Aroma was of Munich malts with a slight skunkiness. They need to get away from the green bottles. Color was a light amber with a white head. Lighter palate with decent carbonation. Flavors were typical for the style, just lessened. Easy to drink but there are much better.
2.7 Aroma is lager yeast with some corn and caramel. Pours amber/copper with a white head. Superb thick lacing. Clean flavor profile consisting of caramel, yeast, corn, and gum. creamy texture with a light body. Fairly low co2. Pretty good considering who makes it. I actually got a six pack for $3.49. The tag meant to write $8.49. Suckers!!! My lucky day.
2.2 bottle. Amber with small head. Malty base, but still somewhat watered down. Not the best example of the style.
2.8 Bottle. Poured a clear copper color with a small mostly white head. Aroma was sweet caramel malts, some earthy notes. Flavor had a touch of light sweetness like toffee, slight skunk and earthy notes.
2.1 Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a clear burnt orange appearance with a thin cream colored head. Some caramel and nutty notes in the aroma. Some metallic and corn notes in the aroma as well. Fairly sweet, mild floral hop bitterness. A bit husky. Finishes with another touch of metal. Very poor example of a Märzen.
1.8 I expected much more, and I don’t know why. Maybe I’ll buy a couple to make some batter for onion rings... not to drink straight out of the bottle
1.5 could be better not bitter,,,,,,,,, caramel, spruce, citrus, lots of water ,amber, clear, tan foam, lightly bitter, light sweetness, inbev that says it all,,,,,,
2.7 Bottle. A- Grains, spices. A- Copper color, clear liquid, white head. T- Malty, spices, slightly sweet. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spicy finish. O- I’ve had better Oktoberfests and I’ve had worse. This one is pretty standard. Nothing to complaint about nor brag about.
3.9 Tastes like a German beer, for me the best ocktoberfest.
