3.7 Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Big roasted malt notes, ash, chocolate, woody. A nice imperial stout, dry finish, not overly sweet.
3.4 Thanks to koelschtrinker! The beer pours a deep black with a tan head. The smell is dark roasted malt, molasses. Taste is dry and roasty dark malt, dark fruit.
3.4 Kaffeeartiger Beginn, wenig alkoholisch, leichte Karamellnoten, insgesamt frisch und nett aber eher unsüffig. 9/11/11/11/5/11
3.6 "from notes (bomber)...big black heavy oily beer with tar like aspects...light smoke, riasins, chocolate, coffee. Bitter and semi sweet. Not bad, not best in class either. Hit the spot, though."
4.2 Bottle at Craig’s. Pours black, nose is light chocolate, smooth chocolate taste, bitter.
3.6 Bomber from Mike. Black with light tan head. Black malt, roasted and some ashiness, argggg, chocolate, vanilla. Moderate body and carbonation, dry, quite bitter, more chocolate and boozy.
3.8 From tap pours dark reddish brown with small tan head. Aroma is coffe, chocolate, and caramel. Flavor is some hops with lots of bitter roasted malt and chocolate. Medium body light carbonation. Nice long finish.
3.9 660ml bottle @ #h-J14, 19/06/14. Pours a dark brown, black with a good-sized, long-lasting, thick, latte-colored head. Aroma is roast, chocolate, some grapefruit. Taste is semi-dry, quite a lot of roast, a lot of coffee as well as citrus. Full and well-carbonated. Enjoyable.
4.2 Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a moderate light brown head on there. Nose is extremely roasty with some subtle licorice elements coming through on it. Taste is extremely roasty and fairly bitter, giving the stout a hefty bite to it. Really quite a nice beer.
4.3 650ml Flasche. Tiefschwarzes Bier mit schöner braunen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, dunkle Schokolade, Kaffee. Geschmack sehr malzig süß nach dunkler Schokolade, Kaffee. Sehr gut!
3.5 Light pecan head dissipates quickly, decent lace, body opaque black/brown. aroma vanilla, cider, citrus. Flavor smoke, cider, caramel, dark chocolate, faint grapefruit. Medium carbonation, average body for an imperial stout. Finish is bitter sweet with a hint of grapefruit
3.3 Bottle from Total Wine, Vegas. Whoa, huge flavour. Pours thick black with a massive brown head. Head remains at 1cm through half a glass. Malty, hoppy, chocolate, finishes boozy, hoppy, metallic. This is an over-the-top beer, just as it claims to be.
3.7 On draft at Tap 25. It pours dark brown/black with a small brown head. The aroma has lots of fudge and chocolate chip cookies. Hints of coffee. The flavor is very dirty and heavily roasted with freshly turned soil and dark bitter chocolate. Wow. Super ashy in the finish with a huge body. This stuff is beastly. Perhaps a bit over the top with the black malts.
3.8 Massive roastiness, tonne of hops- at first I thought it was at odds but it came together pretty well. Bit challenging though
3.8 Large bottle kindly shared by gunnar. Clear dark ruby vedging on black with a small brown head. Coffe and malts with alco fumes. Malty and bitter. Roasted hop juice. Long roasted coffee finish.
3.8 Shared bottle at local tasting. Pours dark with a big creamy tanned head. Aroma is malty, roasted malts and coffee, with good presence of liquorice and tar. Taste is smooth, coffee and liquorice, lingering dark liquorice, very good
3.7 Flaske på RB samling hjemme (takk til Odd Gunnar): godt røstet kaffearoma. Fint men kort skum. Ganen fylles opp av bitter og syrlig kaffesmak, dristig humlebruk og en maltkropp som fyller ut i svingene. et øl for gutter&piger med hår på brystet.
3.5 FROM NOTES: June 28, ’12 Bomber poured into a tulip A: Baking chocolate, dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and hops. Grapefruit on the nose to this. A: Poured a dark color and settled black with a huge, three finger light brown head. Great body and shape to the head. Slowly worked to a thick collar. Left all sorts of nice lacing. T: Lots of hops, followed by chocolate and coffee. P: Medium bodied and light carbonation. Pretty straight forward really. Hops calm down in the feel and get more of the roast and chocolate. O: A massively hopped imperial stout.
3.9 On tap at Capitol Beer, Sacramento. Pours dark brown with a decent tan head and a dark chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with some licorice, coffee and a balancing hop finish.
4.1 Bottle, bought @ Mikkeller Bar, Cph. Pours deep opaque black with a lovely, staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has roasted malts, chocolate, vinious, cocoa, light nutty. Low carbonation, fine dry and grainy mouthfeel with good creaminess. Flavour has dark chocolate, roasted malts, lots of nuttiness. Vinious and fine astringency. Good.
4.0 4-16-12 Impressive tan head- like a rootbeer float- stays for a long time. Good savory plum maltiness. Light carbonation. Black in color. 9.5BD, 9KevMar
4.2 Bottled (65 cl) at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels, Belgium. Black with a beige head. Intense chocolate aroma with some coffee and piney hops. Medium bodied, meidum carbonation. Dry, medium to high bitterness. Very good.
4.3 Big, Bold, Beautiful. Thick and chewy mouthfeel. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, some roastiness, and a tinge of sweetness. Finishes dry. One of the thicker stouts I've had. Recommended! A-
4.2 Bottle. Black beer with a brownish head. Hoppy, caramell, chocolate aroma with some grassy notes. Hoppy, chocolate, bitter, caramell, vanilla, raisins and figs flavour.
4.0 Poor old beer. Kinda played 2nd fiddle to the excitement of first practice, got lost in the buzz. Still, obviously accomplished. The beer that is.
3.9 Black Flag. Had my t-shirt on. I have the proof. Studio. Setting up. Twang twang, dum de dum. Korg noises. Somewhere between Keith and Adam.
3.4 Bomber into pint glass ... dark chunky brown pour..chunks of crap floating around.. aroma is hard to point out..maybe some apple.. taste is hoppy and bitter. Some creamy mocha hints..good one.. has alot of black ipa characteristics
3.6 1 pint bottle, poured a cloudy murky dark weird looking brew. Hoppier than it looks. Pretty good.
