3.3Bottle @ ild og røg ølsmagning. Cloudy orange, medium white head, some lacing. Aroma, malty, old hops, pine, flat. Taste, malty, sweet, hoppy, fruity, orange. Dry mouth feel.
3.0Draft pour. Pours a light orange with a hoppy, boozy aroma. A lot of orange and hop flavors. Finishes really bitter. Strong. Not my go to IPA but at the same time not bad.
3.4Bottle from Erzbierschoff - Hazy pale yellow color, beautiful white head - aroma of tea leaf , grapefruit, malty - Flavor is grapefruit tea leaf - Medium/full body, fizzy carbonation, dry, high bitterness, tea bitter finish - good but nothing exceptional
3.0Dark golden color, good fine foam. Pine smell, mix some grass freshness. Foretaste is not very hoppy, it has citrus hint, it’s sour sweet and bitter, those 3 tastes mix together. It has some smoke and hop bitterness at end. The hop is a very bitter hop, but not fruity, it gives mandarin like taste, give a dry feeling on mouth. This beer is not domain by the hop, so there’s reserved sugar balance the hop. This beer has a little caramel and banana ester at rear, not obvious. Not very impressed, yet not bad. It has good score on ratebeer, that’s why I buy it, seems not match my score. Found it’s bottle conditioned, so maybe I should wait months for a better taste? Haha, who knows.
3.6On draft at Tap 25. It pours a golden color with an off white head. The aroma is strong with citrus leafy herbals and lime. The flavor has strong citrus bitterness with some lighter notes of caramel and bread. Intense citrus with a tad too much caramel malt. Good.
3.6Looks..dirty orange/tan, loads of sediment, med head.
Smells.. Caramel and sweet malts, some stone fruit and orange citrus
Tastes.. Caramel, banana wafer, toffee, sweet malts..booze soaked stone fruits and some citrus around in a long lasting bitter finish.
4.0On tap at front door, Boise. Sharper, and smoother, version of their bottled edition. Cask conditioning adds smoothness and lots of citrus character. Hops still come through loud and clear, but have the edges rounded off. Very nicely done.
Earlier Rating: 11/14/2013 Total Score: 4
nice and tart citrus and pine. Cloudy orange amber with thick robust creamy head lots of sticky lacing. Aroma of oranges and pine trees. Flavor is astringent citrus, pine, malt. Sharp but not overbearing.
4.1Ins Glas ergießt sich ein orangegoldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr intensiv fruchtig malzig herb. Geschmack sehr hopfig bitter, fruchtig, klasse!
2.5Draught. Pours an extremely cloudy amber color with a small white head. I can literally get no smell to this, which is sad. Taste is fairly bitter, but the taste is a little old, like the hops aren’t fresh. A little disappointing.
3.5bottle, orange with golden hues. leafy hops, peanut shells & skins, orange marmalade. medium bodied. decent flavor, malty backbone. OK DIPA
3.6Pours a half finger of head on a cloudy straw colored body.
The aroma is lemon, pine and spruce. Quite nice.
The taste is a dry moderate bitterness with a good malt backup to balance it out nicely.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
A big beer but very drinkable and tasty.
3.5On tap. Poured a light copper color with a thin white head. Hop, citrus, malt and caramel aroma. Hop, caramel, toffee citrus and biscuit flavors. Medium body and carbonation. So8ght bitter and biscuit mouthfeel. Astringent bitter finish.
3.422 oz Bomber. The beer pours to a light orange color with a very thick slightly off white head. The aroma has pine, grassy, very slight citrus notes to it. The taste has a light to medium body with a flat start and a medium bitterness to finish. I am a big fan of DIPA’s and this is not one i would buy again . Overall an OK DIPA for me.
3.2Hazy orange-amber color, good creamy white head, lace. Bready-hoppy, resiny aroma. Medium-bodied. Pale malty, resiny with some citrus. Lingering bitterness. Simple but powerful.
3.5Bright golden. Pure white head. Danky aroma with malt. Effervescent palate even on cask. Cool sweet flavor drowned by a very balqnced bitter hop cinconction.
1.3Bottled: unk
It’s a hazy amber with a billowy cream top that leaves a ton of lace. The nose is malt, resin, onion, hay, sage, plastic and turned nylon. Flavor is bitter, biscuit, astringent, shitty, shitty beer here. Medium on full bodied with moderately hi carb and a long bitter finish. I’ve long wondered how Beer Valley has stayed in business, tonight I tried this beer after three years of absence. My suspicion is reignited at this time. Horrible beer.
3.7Bomber from whole foods, pretty good imperial ipa, strong, enjoyed the oregon feel of this bad boy
3.6Orange, feine weisse schaumkrone, hopfenbittere mit etwas malzigem hintergrund im aroma, starke bittere, insbesondere im nachklang, etwas zu wenig ausgewogen für ein imperial pale ale
3.7On draught at 2013 Portland Fresh Hop Beer Fest. Deep golden color. Grass and pine hop aroma. Taste is resinous pine and citrus hops. Finishes with a sweet citrus aftertaste.
3.4Bottle from Total Wines, Bellevue, Seattle, WA, USA. A dark cloudy orange coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus aroma. Tastes hoppy, citrus, pine, very bitter but also quite complex. I prefer my DIPA’s to be less harsh.
3.765cl bottle, served in Shaker. Pours hazy orange with small/medium off-white frothy head (lasting, some lacing). Aroma is tangerine, caramel and citrus. Very nice. Regarding the flavour, strong as an Imperial/Double IPA should be: again caramel with significant bitterness, hints of tropical fruits and grassy notes. A little bit of alcohol, not surprising considering it’s 9% ABV. The palate is sweet and dry at the same time. Medium body, perfect carbonation. Good job overall.
3.3Pours a cloudy orange with a off white head and sweet citrusy aroma. Taste is sweet as well, hoppy, of citrus, pine, caramel and light floral fruity notes with a bitter, dry finish.
2.7Bottle. Pours a dark rusty orange with no head. Nose is deep bitter citrus. Taste is citrus with virtually no carbonation, despite being bottle conditioned, maybe a fluke bottle. Ends on bitter notes , but does not live up to the rating. Quaff score 6 / 10
3.7Orange pour, foamy white head
Sweet citrus, spice and grassy hop aroma
Crisp hoppy bitter grassy citrus hops
A bit thin
3.8Had this beer poured from draft at Taphouse Grill in Seattle. Grapefruit taste with very bitter back and great hops. Floral. Pretty good one.
3.9Love the golden unfiltered color, smooth with a nice bite. Great summertime IPA.
---Rated for the sake of BEER!!
3.7On tap at The Shack, medium, lasting head, piney aroma, bitter on the front. Hides ABV well.
3.5Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a huge fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus hops, pine, malt, and a hit of sweet sugar. Taste is a balance of pine and citrus hops, with sweeter malt, gets bitter as it goes. Lingering watery bitterness. Decent IIPA.
3.6Bottled. It pours a hazy copper beer with a decent head. Caramel, reisnous hops and some licorice showing up in the nose. Balanced. Present malt back. Definitely not a bright example of the style.
3.8Golden, almost amber color with eggshell head. Citrusy hop aroma with some pitted fruit. Big taste, similar to the aroma. Does not disappoint.
