3.3Bottle. Pours hazy bright gold big foam. Fresh bread and spices on the nose. Sugary sweetness, a bit medicinal bitterness flavors on a well carbonated malty bed. Palate is sticky, sugary. Not sure why 3 Fonteinen bothers with this when theyve got such superb gueuze beers. This is average at best. Saccharin sweetness overload.
3.3Tap at BC's Bottle Lodge - Montgomery. A- PCPC AVFWHMLGL. A - MBA. P - MBSMTSC. F - MSF MSF MD. Soft drinkable beer.
3.9Bottle from Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy gold with a full 2 fingers of head that dissipates to a half finger and lingers throughout. Great lacing down the glass. Herbal aromas with wet straw, wheat in a barn and some light peppercorn notes. Full body with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Peppercorn, noble hops, banana and clove with hints of mineral and dried fruit. More cracked wheat on the palate. Great stuff, complex but subtle with a lingering noble hop, dry bitterness.
3.4Draft pour at The Sovereign. Poured a slightly hazy, light yellow color with a small, medium sized white head. Aroma was light citrus, most hoppy than I would have expected, but not overly so. Light, easy to drink. Does not drink like 7%.

3.8LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Een heerlijke Belgische blonde: vol van smaak, flink moutig met wat citrus. Prima bier!
3.7Bottle. Clear pale with med white head. Aroma, wheat, yeast and a bit fruity. Nice taste. Wheat, straw, yeast and light citrus. Nice full body
3.3Light yellow, almost clear with white head. Aroma dominated by the yeast, towards sour. Taste spicy, rather dry and with more bitterness towards the end than what would be typical for the style. Ok, nothing more.
3.6Aroma is pale malts, mild bubblegum sweetness and berry. The flavor is bubblegum, Belgian yeast, citrus and a spicy/hoppy/slightly alcoholic finish.
3.7hazy golden colour, huge white head; aroma and taste of dried apicot, lemony and wheaty notes; good one
3.3Pours hazy golden with low white head. Aroma of honey, wheat, herbs. Taste is sweet, herbal, spicy. Light and smooth body with soft carbonation.
3.5F: huge, almost white, long lasting.
C: gold, hazy.
A: malty, fruity, yeasty, banana, floral, bit peach, honey.
T: malty, rich mellow fruity, peach, bit banana, yeasty, dusty, smooth mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation, may be too sweet but good balanced and for me enjoyed, 33cl bottle from 3 Fonteinen lambik-O-droom.
3.3Another one I had years ago but apparently forgot to take notes of - so I purchased a bottle from Dranken De Moor in Haasdonk for mere rating purposes. Common Belgian blonde made for 3 Fonteinen at ’Proef’brouwerij. Thickly ’papery’ lacing, egg-white, regular, thick and frothy, very stable head over a lightly hazy, warm ’old gold’ coloured beer with slightly orange hue, misty and deeper peachy with sediment. Aroma of ripe banana (isoamylacetate - but not so much the bubblegum side of it), pear, sugarloaf, pineapple slices, powder sugar, old ginger powder, fresh camomile flowers, honey, white bread, hints of candied lemon, mandarin, cake, dry earth, sweetclover, apple juice. Crisp, fruity onset, lots of the banana ester, pineapple, pear, red apple, peach, sweet with thin sourish edges, the latter accentuated by lively carbonation, but not overcarbonated for this particular style, which is originally inspired by pale lager and as a consequence always tends to be quite effervescent; supple, bit soapy, smooth mouthfeel. Nice ’white’ bready malt sweet middle with honeyish sugar residue on top, the banana lingering all the way through, something caramelly in the middle as well; finishes drier, with some subtly onsetting, retronasal oxidation (clearly an older bottle) and floral, mildly herbal hoppiness, providing some earthy and very lightly spicy bitterness in the back of the mouth. Your ordinary Belgian blonde, sweet and ridden with banana ester, but ’honest’ and technically well-executed without any flaws. I can imagine beer geeks being disappointed by this after seeing the association with one of the finest lambic producers in the world, but clearly this beer is intended to help fund exactly that, by being accessible to a large audience accustomed to this type of quenching, straightforward, ’easy’ beers and within that context, this is far from the worst.
3.9Bottle at the lambic cave. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. Yeast, lime, hops, fruit. Perfectly carbonated. Great beer - underrated.
2.6330ml bottle at 3 Fonteinen. Cloudy yellow/orange with an off-white head. Aroma of yeast, banana, grass, malt. Flavour the same with added bananabread with yeast.
3.2Draft - Light bready notes. Hazy gold with a rich white head. Bready notes, fruity esters and a sweet bready finish.
3.23 Fonteinen Brouwerij Ambachtelijke Geuzestekerij _Beersel Blonde_ Belgian Strong Pale Ale at 7% ABV _(C$6.02 at Willow Park Wine & Spirits, 330 ml, best before 11-Apr-2018, acquired 1-Apr-2017, reviewed 1-May-2017)_
Appearance: clear pale gold with two fat fingers of rocky white head, excellent retention and well-defined lacing. (5/5) Aroma: bready malt, honey, floral, banana, hint of white pepper. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-low bitter, light peppery spice. (6/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry moderate bitter and mildly spicy finish. (3/5)
I was really puzzled by the naming of this: 3 Fonteinen calls their BSPA “Beersel” Blonde, when it has no association whatsoever with Oud Beersel? But then, I figured it out: Beersel is the name of the town. The two breweries are literally a fifteen minute walk from each other. Still, gotta say, seems like a little bit of a dick move - if it confused a fairly hardcore beer geek like me, then you gotta think the possibility for consumer confusion is pretty high. Anyway. On to the beer. And, well, hrm. It’s not actually bad, y’know? But when you consider they make one of the best Gueuzes in the world, perhaps it might be better sticking with that? Really. It’s a very, very pretty beer. And that’s pretty much the best I can say about it. Stick to Gueuze and don’t bother contract brewing at the De Proefbrouwerij. (12/20)

3.3Train home. Directement de la bouteille. Sweet malts, grain, sugar, light wort, grassy, light metallic. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body, doughy and creamy. Ok, but why?
3.3I wasn’t paying attention when I bought this and I thought it was Oud Beersel, I was disappointed when I popped it in the fridge when the label was not as I expected it. Then I examined it when I popped it out of the fridge and it’s 3 Fonteinen, so I was no longer disappointed. And then I tasted it and I was disappointed again. It’s not bad, but it should be better. A perfect beer to have while I’m cooling down, but it’s so thin that it washes away in a few seconds. A beer that can be overpowered by saliva is pretty damn weak. However, this is 7% and it sure doesn’t taste like it. It does look nice in my little goblet though, so marks for that.
3.5330 ml buttplug bottle. The beer is a hazy yellow with a big head of white foam. Great head retention and lacing. The aroma is dry and herbal with hints at cotton candy and clove. Sweet with hints of esters popping up throughout. Medium body and medium high carbonation. Spritzy mouthfeel.
3.2330ml bottle pours a hazy golden colour with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is grains with some light fruits and grass. Taste is a malty sweetness with a grassy, spicy hop bitterness. Light bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, a nicely done blonde ale. Recommended.
3.0Bottle. Hazy golden color with nice white head. Aroma is bananas, spicy yeasts, some vanilla. Taste is bananas, grainy, kiwi, peppery yeasts, typically Belgian. High carbonation. Okay Blond, with an interesting fruit character, but nothing special either.
