BEL PILS is one of the most traditional of pils beers, mainly on account of the high quality of the hops used, which give the beer a characteristic aroma and taste.

Golden pilsener, medium head. Malt and honey nose. Hops and lemon. Fine enough.
2.1250ml bottle (5% abv.). Pale yellow color. Small size, white head, stays. Sweet, malty, corn, cereals in aroma. Sourish, malty, cereals and straw in taste. Medium carbonation. Malty straw in aftertaste. Soft bitterness.
2.9330ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a clear golden yellow color forming a big, creamy and soapy white head with medium retention forming and leaving a lot of lingering soapy lacings in the glass. S: Very grainy nose. Strong notes of sweet pale grains, wheat and grassy hops. Crispy, bready, citrus and flowery. T: Very grainy and crispy. Strong noted of pale malts and wheat. Hints of corn. Slightly sweet upfront. In overall, a dry taste and a light but good grassy hops bitterness. M: Light watery body. Average carbonation. Crispy and grassy aftertaste. Not very persistent aftertaste. O: Good drinkability. The worst thing that Moortgat can do is still an average brew.
2.5Draft @ Pressklubben, Stockholm. Pours a clear yellow color with a longlasting white head. Has a fruity malty grainy aroma. Fruity malty grainy flavor. Has a fruity malty grainy weak grassy finish.

2.8Une pils classique assez raffraîchissante et légère, une bière de ducasse..
2.225cl on tap. Clear straw yellow colour with a thin white head. Cereal and floral aroma. Average carbonation and light watery body. Taste is light but refreshing. Overall, average industrial pilsner.
2.8*Old rating from 201. Nett mildes, leicht süßliches Pils. Nicht zu getreidig, nicht zu süß. Erfrischend mit leicht herber Note im Nachgeschmack.
2.2(Bel Pils) Bottle 250 ml at home, served into a footed pilsner glass, ABV 5%
Golden yellow colour on the body with intense activity in it, two fingers of white thick head, very good retention, medium lacing left on the glass.
Aroma has stale, dried straw, not much else.
Taste is sweet, some malts, the same dried straw, some grass. Not offensive.
Thin body, average carbonation.
Below average pils.
2.80.5 l from tap @ Belge, Helsinki. Something less strange from Belgium. Quite normal pils, nothing special but OK.
1.033 cl can at home. Drank on January 5th 2015 as Bel Pils (5,3%). Never drinking this again.
2.6Bottle at S&G tasting.
APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, small stable white head.
NOSE: hoppy, grains, fruity.
TASTE: hoppy, grains, fruity, little oxidated even?
Drank at S&G big pilsener tasting, blindly comparing 24 pilseners. Taste for most pilseners was the same, some grains, bit hoppy, quite malty and mostly bit metallic.
2.4On-tap at Porter & Sons. Clear golden yellow with a big frothy head. Aroma of grainy malt with some earthy hops. Taste is pretty much the same, light malty sweetness, grains , grass, some lemon with a bit rough bitterness. Thin body, dry-ish finish. Quite dull but drinkable.
2.5Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass:
White head. Clear yellow colored beer.
Aromas of malts, grains, some sweat, herbs and porridge. Quite typical.
Flavours of malts, honey, some bitters, light grainy, light herbal and lighter earthy touch.
Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, malts, herbs and some light earty tones.
Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, low bodied and a creamy texture.
2.4Very common beer, uninterresting.
But good for a pils, average taste, nice color.
2.0Clear golden colour. An above average commercial lager, though really nothing special
2.1Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours pale golden with a fluffy white head. Not a huge amount of flavour to speak of. A little citrus and slight metallic notes. Nothing special.
2.8Moortgat’s standard lager (I wouldn’t personally classify this as a classic Pilsener). Typical golden blonde colour with firm snow white head, crisp and clean taste, malty sweetishness and grassy hops, with a finish that is admittedly more hoppy bitter than average. One of the better ’pils’ beers in Belgium but still nothing to get too excited about.
1.3Pee yellow. Has a white fluffy head. Not much aroma. Maybe some malts. Is watery and malty in the flavour. Sweet and quickly dying on the palate.
2.9On tap at Sugarbowl. Golden and clear, ncie creamy white cap. Nose has grass and grains. Light taste of grains and grass. Finishes dry. Slightly boring pilsner.
2.4Tap. Clear light golden with big white head. Light malts, slight dry fruitiness and hint of bitter in the finish. Medium dry feel. Drinkable pils. Not too sweet but nice crisp and fresh.
2.8Gigantic white head over a light golden body. Duvel like and admittedly perfect for a pilsner. Hard to justify giving lower than a 5. As expected everything fails from the aroma inwards though. Canned vegetables, cheap grains, characterless, metallic and even some alcoholic sweetness. When cold it drinks well, but mostly because it is tasteless. When warming it’s a rough yet luckily little astringency, coined with a soft and more pleasant aftertaste of balancing malts and herbal hop. Well, hop extract. Bit the worst of Belgian pilsner, but that doesn’t say anything. Good aftertaste, excellent looks, yet off putting aroma. (25cl bottle from Cave Gambrinus SPdC)
2.433cl bottle at home.
A typical taste of a pilsner. Nothing too special about it!
3.5Draft at het been
Pours clear blonde good white head
Malty smell
Rather bitter taste . Some hops, some bitterness . Enough taste for the abv .
