Belching Beaver Hop Highway

Belching Beaver Hop Highway

Named after California’s Highway 78, this India Pale Ale was brewed in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the city of Vista. With plenty of Galaxy, Falconer’s Flight, Southern Cross and just a tad bit of Nelson hops, our latest IPA is truly sessionable. Aroma’s include grapefruit, passionfruit, and citrus.

3.7 Canned version. Unfiltered light orange color. Thin off-white head. Fruity-citrus with spice and white grapes. Medium bitterness. Good drinkability.
4.8 excellent,really excellent,really really excellent,top west coast IPA
3.5 Trübes Orangegelb mit reichlich Schaum. Malzig, harzig, etwas Kiefer, fruchtig, Grapefruit, trocken, bitter.
3.6 Into a tulip at just on chilled. Hazy, pastel, sunny orange with a tight but compact, creamy white crown. Minimal life and minimal lace showing. Ooh, it has very vinous, fruity, Chenin Blanc and wine gum undertones coming through on the nose amongst droves of grapefruit, camphor, nettles, lime juice and spicy alcohol warmth. Strong, firm bitterness hits first. White wine and sour lime hit in second. Quite light but rounded and relatively big in body. Palest malt gives it a powderiness with a lightly oily, resinous hops finish. Sweet, juicy fruit front. Wine gums, apricot, lychee and grapefruit keep it fresh, tangy and zesty. The alcohol well masked, making it a little dangerous as I could easily see myself pounding through a good dozen on a Summer's day. Simple, balanced and quaffable! 3.8 Aroma 6 /10: earth, grassy, dirt. Appearance 4 /5: light opaque golden with very frothy head that doesn't dissipate Palate 4 /5: bubbly, full body, slightly malty finish Taste 7 /10: hop forward, primarily pine and dank. Finishes with slight malt sweetness. Overall 15/20: Decent ipa, very standard. Like the slight dankness nut this isn't one I'd necessarily go out of my way to seek out. Final: 3.6
3.4 From: 750ml Cla bday bottle Aroma: citrusy hops and passion fruit Appearance : frothy white head lingers for ages and holds form like a thick shaving cream. Thick hazy opaque golden yellow Taste: very little at the front this is dominated in the middle with Citra hoppiness and just enough passionfruit to keep it in check without going overboard. Slight malted bitterness at the finish that lingers a bit. Palate: light to medium body, smooth with very little effervescence. Overall:
3.4 355ml can. Pours bright gold. Pine, dank, herbal, orange, perfume, lemon, touch of biscuit. Medium body. Fine.
4.0 Bottle @ Hemet, CA trip to visit family always find new micros to rate and taste.
2.2 Found this in the can and when poured into a glass, rather large chunks of solid material were floating in the beer like a snow globe. Wish I could add a picture. Very disappointed since the aroma was very appealing and the date on the can was just over 2 months ago. Won’t be buying again!
3.4 On tap. Pours a clear gold with a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of grainy pale malt, caramel, grapefruit, orange and pine. Sweet flavour of doughy pale malt, caramel, orange, grapefruit, muddled tropical fruit, pine and light alcohol with a dry, bitter hop finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Not bad. Now I've got that song (Life Is A Highway) stuck in my head. Anyone else? No? Maybe it's just me.
4.0 355 ml can at The Local Taipei. Appearance is a rich hazy honeyed golden, with thick, persistent and sticky white froth. Aroma is very hoppy, think tropical fruits like pineapple and passionfruit mixed with grapefruit. Tastes are similar, fruity, citrus sweet, grapefruit bittersweet, then intense but short lived piney bitter followed by sweetish aftertaste. Nice one!

4.1 Rating #2763 - 2016.08.29 - Can from BB - Pours a golden amber with a fluffy white head. Aroma is tropical punchbowl - lemon, pineapple, grapefruit. Some NZ style glory here in this SD IPA - some tropical fruit sweetness and some assertive bitterness make this work wonders. Glorious.
3.8 golden pour, silky white head, hoppy aroma, some citrus, hint of passionfruit, lots sweetness. alcohol is finely hidden, well session.
3.6 Nice old school Cali IPA with a bit of tropical fruit forward hops thrown in. Pours a bright orange with a huge, sticky off white head. The nose is bright, floral and tropical with a bunch of citrus hop notes. Malts are quite light with some mild caramel malts. Bitterness is moderately heavy with a nice punch of sticky resin, grapefruit zest and pine needles. Bitterness lingers for quite a while.
3.5 (Belching Beaver Tap Takeover) Served in a 12oz tulip glass at Beer Revolution in Edmonton pouring a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head leaving only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is tropical fruits with cereal grains and citrus. Taste is a citrus hop bitterness with a tropical fruity and malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent IPA that suits the style well, while also being balanced and tasty.
4.3 from CraftGallery; canned - cloudy dark orange beer with a little foam left; very fruity aroma of passion fruit and citrus; hints of caramel; juicy and very tasty; lively palate; full-bodied, well-integrated bitterness; quite dry and long juicy fruity finish with more clean notes of passion fruits and citrus; light sweetness - superb
3.8 650ml brown bottle. Hazy yellow, thick whipped creamy white cap with thick lacing. Nose - zest of grapefruit and orange peel. Taste - grass, grapefruit, passionfruit, citrus zest, dank, pine, earth some juiciness. Bitter, clean malt. Lots of carbonation. Lots of hop flavours going on. Solid.
3.5 650 ml bottle from Canada Craft Club. Pours a murky dull golden colour with good-sized white head. Aroma is lots of pine resin, citrus zest and light grains. Flavour is solid piney and moderately citric hops with some straw and grains. Average plus body. Nice.
3.8 Solid US style IPA. Hazy pale orange with off white foam that laces and stays in the glass. Clean, subtle tropical hop aroma with solid malt to balance. Big round mouthfeel. Nice sweetness countered by well judged hops. A hop forward beer without the huge bitterness of some of the beers in the style. Very, very good; a superbly balanced beer.
3.6 Golden with a white head - Hop aroma - Malt body with a good hop flavour with fruits, citrus and bitterness - The citrus flavours goes into the finish with a dry bitterness - This was good
3.7 Hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is citrus, pine, grapefruit, passionfruit, mango, caramel. Medium bodied, moderate bitterness, solid IPA.

3.6 Smells lovely and fruity. Straw gold and hazy. Malty light fruit taste. Orange and melon. Reminds me a little of a wheat beer and lemonade combo style IPA. Pleasant and drinkable
3.3 Can 375ml (AbM, BB 10/2016) Slightly hazy orange colour, small white head and lace. Tropical fruits, citrus and cardboard. Medium-bodied. Tropical fruity, pineapple and kiwi sweetness in the flavour. Pale malty, light grapefruit in the finish. Juicy IPA. Unfortunately Ales by Mail sold me very old can but this still shows some of its potential.
3.8 355ml can. Pours a hazy gold orange with lingering white head that laces the glass. Aroma: grapefruit, passionfruit, pineapple, grass notes. Taste: citrus and tropical flavours dominate including passiofruit, pinapple, mango, papaya and orange peel. Mild pine and caramel malt flavours. Mild sweetness followed by a lingering bitterness. Boozy aftertaste. Very, very tasty beer.
4.0 290617. Can at home (abm). Pours slight hazy yellow with a nice head. Aroma oats, citrus. This has that elusive sweet American taste that I often seek. Brings tears of joy to see this of friend again after so many beers. Not Bad.
3.8 Can. Pours a murky straw yellow color with a large white head. Tons of sticky lacing. Big aromas of citrus and tropical fruit, melon. Lots of fruity and sweet hop flavors and moderately intense bitters. Grapefruit and melon.
3.1 Bottle. Pours a musty yellow-orange. This delivers a mushy orange-rind bitterness with perhaps a hint of coconut. Like a slushy orange soda ice cream, with some beer added in. (#6656, 6/15/2017)
