Belfast Bay Lobster Ale

Dark ruby color, moderate head of foam, big fruity nose. Robust fruity palate is packed with apple-pear character, nice malt backbone, barely balancing hops in the finish.

1.9 Pours an amber red. Smells of bread. Taste is overly sweet, cloying minimal hop presence. Not worth drinking.
2.5 Malty red. Not that good.
2.2 Foamy head that lingers on top of copper brown body. Sweet malt earthy aroma. Roasted bitterness on the taste buds. Hint of sourness. I can’t help but wonder if I have beer gone bad. Has maltiness with a hint of sweetness but seems flat if not sour.
2.9 Enjoyed on tap at Lobster Joint in Brooklyn, NY. This choice seemed appropriate. Appearance is a dark amber, light white head. Aroma is mostly malty, it's decent. Taste is also malty, and also just decent. Not really a fan of this guy, but lobster rules.
3.0 Bottle. Copper coloured with a thin, white, head. Sweet caramel and yeasty red fruits, a hint or roastiness and rather boozy finish. A bit crude, but drinkable.
3.1 Pours a ruby-tinted brown with a thin, bubbly head that dissipates within a minute or two. Nose is a touch sweet with cider notes. Taste is lightly sweet at first with a crisp, hop-tinged rye finish. Light body, lively carbonation. Good brew.
3.5 A quite nice red. Pours a beautiful deep red with a white head. Smells of molasses and vanilla. More vanilla in the taste with a bit of hops in the finish, nicely balanced. Had on tap at Front Street Pub in Maine.
3.1 Red-brown with small tan head. Aroma malty, light hops. Medium body. Fruity off-dry flavor, malty. Not complex or anything but reasonable.
2.6 Friend shared with me. Nah. Smelled and tasted like an amber bock. Very malty, not well balanced. Lots of carb. Not for me.
3.0 I had this at Mad Pub. Pours amber wit white head. Taste malt, Carmel, lightly sweet. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again.
3.2 Clear copper colour with red aspirations topped by an average head that recedes slowly. Toffee and darkish fruit on the nose. Lots of red/purple fruit on the palate with a light toffee vibe. Ends pretty dry with no real finish to speak of. It really just drops off. Palatable but uninteresting.
2.8 Bottle 0.335l at Pivo, Oulu. Originally rated 21092012. Colour is reddish brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Caramel, some fruits and malts.
2.8 Deep clear, amber color, decent off-white head. Aroma is a bit bready malty with notes of caramel. Light-bodied. Very English nutty, caramelly maltyness, dry bitterness in the finish. Basic good elements are there, but beer is not very exiciting. Very British it is.
2.9 Caramel, bread some melon and grass in the aroma. Red to brown colour with a small white head. Quite sweet with a light bitterness that balances well. Light to medium body with a lively carbonation. Dry finish. Overall a OK ale, easy drinkable.
2.8 Nice refreshing ale, but I was very disappointed that it didn’t taste anything like lobster. I’m sorry, but am I the only one who thought it would taste like lobster?
2.3 Poured from a bottle. Clear Caramel color, no real head. Slight hops and yeast smell. Light body slightly bitter flavor with a slight dough like quality.
3.1 Bottled (4.7%), from Vaasa, Finland. Clear brownish amber, rich head. Notes of butter and caramel. Dry with clean, rounded mouthfeel and light-medium body. Salted caramel. Fairly low bitterness. Well drinkable.
2.7 Bottle pours dark red beer with off-white head. Aroma is moderate malt and toffee. Flavour is light bitter, toast and a bit sweet.
3.3 060713. Bottle at home. Pours deep ruby with a small head. Aroma crystal malts, caramel. Sweet caramel taste. Has a British feel to it. Not Bad.
2.9 0.355 l bottle from Citymarket Seppälä, Jyväskylä. Reddish amber color. Very caramelly aroma and flavor with soft floral and citrusy hops. Some toasted bread and nuts also. Low bitterness, mellow and rounded taste. Quite typical american amber/red ale.
1.1 Caramel tasting, light aroma, thick and heavy. A beer that I would not get again.
2.5 Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks kerenmk. Pours yellow to orange with a beige head, aroma of hops, malt, acidity and butter, flavor of cardboard, nuts, malt, slightly dried, medium bodied
2.8 Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer and Beyond store. Murky amber with white ring. A little buttery, fruity, cherry aroma, tastes a little bitter, fruity and weird. Light body, fizzy.
2.8 Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks kerenmk. Hazy deep golden-amber. Aroma of dusty hops, malt and a bit of fruitiness. Flavor has light malty sweetness, some fruity notes and finish with some hoppy bitterness, with earthy, dusty and minerally notes. Medium-bodied.
3.2 bottle 35,5cl @ home. pours coppery red, whiteish head. malty caramel aroma. malts, citrus flavor, bitter finish.
3.0 Bottle from supermarket. Red color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, caramel, hops and grass. Bitter finish with caramel and citrus. Nice red ale.
3.0 Rating has only numeral values. No attributes due to social happening. What a shame.
3.3 355 ml bottle. Pours a ruby red colour with a white head. Aroma of sweet grainy malts, berries and caramel. Flavour of sweet malts, grains, juicy mandarin orange and strong bitterness. Medium bodied and a bitter sweet finish. Good stuff.
3.4 12oz bottle, thanks to tmoney99. Best before March ’13. Mildly hazy darker red / brown color. Thin khaki head, leaves nice lace. Smooth texture, crisp lighter carbonation. Medium body. Nice earthy hops, caramel malts. Light spiciness, little toastiness. Hint of chocolate. More sweet taste. Low bitterness. Solid red ale. Would probably be great with some lobster (really, just some lobster in general would be great..)
2.4 Long time is rating, as I had to be certain that it contains no actual lobsters, since those bug-eyed bums don’t agree with me. Aroma of molten caramel and minerals. Reddish orange color, almost clear. Mildly sweet taste, a touch of fizzle, but really not much going on. Perfect session beer for a not-so-hot day at the beach.
