Belhaven Scottish Oat Stout

Belhaven Scottish Oat Stout

Belhaven Scottish Oat Stout is dark, rich and layered, with a wonderful silky texture and a lingering finish. We uses a complex mash including roasted barley and oats along with 3 types of malt to give the beer its trademark depth and complexity: Creating black coffee and dark chocolate notes that make this stout intense yet approachable.

4.0 Stout scura, velata; schiuma media. Aromi di cioccolato e caffè che poi si ripresentano in bocca. Molto corposa e con una sensazione di setosità data dall'avena. Beva piacevole. Finale amaro. Ottimo equilibrio, davvero ben fatta.
4.4 Pours a dark brown colour with a beige coloured ale brown colour ale Notes of roasted toffee caramel and malt coffee
4.0 330ml bottle from Drinkers Paradise in Kentish Town. The date code on the bottle was worn but I think said October 2020. Poured into a pint glass having been out of refrigeration for about 30 minutes. The beer pours a motor oil black colour with a small unstable head, dark honeycomb in colour. Dissipates quickly. The aroma of this beer is a straight punch in the face. Heavy dark roasted malts, heavy liquorice. Some dark high cocoa chocolate and black coffee. A light sweet caramel note. Very good. The taste is dominated by the malt. Dark bread, toffee, dark chocolate. Liquorice is ever present but never over the top. Little creamy or lactose quality. On the back a little dark sugar and slightest zing. Very tasty. The mouthfeel is extraordinary. Chewy like a highland toffee bar. The beer coats the inside of the mouth but remains smooth and easy to drink. I genuinely can’t remember any lingering flavours due to my attention being in the exquisite mouthfeel. If this stout was readily available in supermarkets, I’d be a devoted regular. Great aroma, good taste, great mouthfeel. A four plus beer for me.
3.5 Dark brown beer with a light brown head. Rich and malty with caramel, toffee, chocolate, some brown sugar and some lemon. Thick, with a nice bitter finish.
2.9 This is really dark bit sweet and rich but insense oat flavour. Not a top notch stout but very very decent. Pours rich dark with coffee and dark chocolate notes
3.8 330 ml bottle. Murky dark brown, stable creamy head. Strongly roasted malt, dark chocolate, cocoa, cigar, lemon, some vanilla, toffee. Strong bitterness, some sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry bitter finish. Very good!

3.5 Bottle. Black with beige head. Aroma is dark roasted malts, coffee, liquorice. Medium sweetness is counterbalanced with mild tartness. Pleasant finish that's mildly bitter, almost sour. Not too boozy. Thick, somewhat oily mouthfeel. Medium-low carbonation, yet refreshing. Enjoyable!

3.5 Aroma : Roasted nearly burnt chocolate malt and oats, a little coffee, earthy/peatty hop. Taste : Pretty much as aroma. A little hint of sweet malts but bitter roastiness all the way through with a slight alcohol warmth in the finish. Very good!

3.6 Black, lots of carbonation, creamy weak head. Smell of grapes, coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt and touch of alcohol. Bitter taste, coffee and dark chocolate. Refreshing, rich and easy dinking. Bitter aftertaste, coffee and roasted malt, traces of alcohol.
3.6 Bottle. Blackish coloured beer with a strong brownish coloured head. The aroma is lightly roasted with a sweet coffeeness. The flavour is roasted with a good level of sweetness and a strong bitter finish. Overall a nice oat stout.
3.7 Bottle from LCBO - variety pack - pours into pint glass a fairly solid black brown. Aromas and tastes surprise with some liquorice, salt, also good mellow black coffee, dark bread and almost winelike dark fruity notes. Yes almost a black grape tone next to the roasty bready and it's a little beguiling. One of the best they have!
2.1 Nera, schiuma scarsa e dalla bassa tenuta. Al naso vomito e caffè e latte. Al palato cappuccino. Tostati molto labili. Corpo leggero, carbonazione bassa.

3.6 In aroma a lot of coffee beans, dark chocolate and red dry wine notes. In taste dry, tannic, quite much sourness from dark malts with a short bitter finish.
3.2 Aroma of malt , chocolate and coffee , sweet taste with notes of chocolate and oat.
3.5 E bună, mult malț prăjit, cu note de ciocolată și cafea învechită, gust cumva prea dulce și siropos, cu o ușoară amăreală arsă pe fundal.
