Bell's Bright White Ale

Bell's Bright White Ale

An alternative to dark and heavy winter warmers and stouts, Bright White (formerly Winter White) is a stylish and refreshing Wheat Ale.

Fermented with a Belgian ale yeast, this blend of barley and wheat malts yields a mixture of clove and fruity aromas, all without the use of any spices.

3.5 It pours cloudy yellow with a pillow white head. Head retention is excellent. There are subtle spicy and wheat notes in the aroma. In addition there are low amounts of subtle earth. It's a bit spicy and doughy as the initial impression. There are some fruity esters. There is a light amount of earth. It has a medium light body and a creamy texture. Overall, it is an easy drinking and smooth beer.
3.8 12 oz can. Pours hazy golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of wheat malt, spices and citrus fruit. Body is medium and smooth. Taste is similar to aroma. Finish is long and spicy. Nice brew.

4.0 Aroma is wheat, mild coriander and citrus. The flavor is wheat, citrus, mild coriander and a smooth//Belgian yeast finish. Earlier Rating: 1/28/2011 Total Score: 4 Rather robust for a wit. Can’t really taste the hefeweizen in it, just the typical coriander and orange peel of wit amped up.
3.1 12oz bottle. Slight hazy orange body. Thin, soapy, white head. Sort of heavy with the coriander, spice ect. I always like when a Wit has a soft, vanilla, wheat tone rather than a spritzy herbal tone, which this has. Not such a bad beer, drinkable, but not an ideal example of the style for me. Earlier Rating: 12/13/2007 Total Score: 4.1 12oz bottle. Cloudy golden-orange color. Does a good job of combining both the banana flavors of the hefe-yeast and the subtle vanilla creaminess of a good Belgian Wit. Ends up being a subtle wheaty delight, a true classic.

Its kind of yellow/orange in color and looks pretty in glass It has a thin white head that disappear after a few moments. This beer taste a little bit like a hefeweizen in style. Its is very drinkable.

3.7 Draught at Lexington Whole Foods. A bright yellow like pour with notes of wheat and some hops. Earlier Rating: 11/2/2007 Total Score: 3.5 How did I forget this? A nice Belgian warmer for the cold Michigan winters. Slightly spiced. Bit of citrus. Nice beer.
3.1 Tastes like the Oberon. Not a smooth as I would expect. Not bad but definitely not great.

3.8 Bottle. Spicy Belgian yeast aroma with notes of clove, black pepper, wheat malt and orange citrus. Pours cloudy golden colored with half a finger of off white head that has excellent retention and some lacing. Starts with wheat malt, orange and black pepper flavors. Finishes smooth and a bit dry with spicy Belgian yeast and clove flavors that linger on the palate after each sip. Pretty nice Belgian wit.
3.6 This is a re-rate. I poured it from the can into a glass. It pours a hazy golden/orange with a fluffy, white head. The aroma is spice, banana, and wheat. The taste is the same with some orange and Belgian yeast. This is very smooth and flavorful. I like it.
3.5 Cloudy deep golden with a thick white pillowy head. Nice fluffy wheaty aroma with light tones of vanilla and bread. Smooth soft flavor that’s the same as the nose; white bread, light vanilla, a kiss of clove. Pretty standard but smooth and nice.
4.0 Can. Clouded orange hue, decent head formation. Aroma of shortbread, white peach, clove, coriander. Fruity up front, sweet peach, turning citrussy and bitter in the finish. Some clove spice but more in the aroma,
3.5 16 oz can. Smells of orange and coriander. Very clear, pale straw color with lively carbonation coming up the glass. Medium sweetness, lightly bitter, can taste the wheat malts. Lingering wheaty sweetness.
3.3 Taste is very dry, a hint of metallic. A bit of wheaty notes, maybe a slight bit of spice. I did pour this right after finishing a homebrewed Brett saison, and that might have thrown my palate off a bit.
3.2 From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. 2018 batch. The pour is an unfiltered, foggy looking yellow tone with a modest white head that fades ti a ring. The aroma emits characters of clove, coriander, lemon grass, Belgian yeast, and toasted wheat. The body is light but smooth. The aroma was not that assertive but the taste was less so. I picked up a mild sweetness and mildly dry finish.
3.2 light malt, faint clove aromas. gold and hazy in color with great long lasting head. taste is lightly malty, faint banana/clove notes
3.0 Bottle. Pours a hazy dark orange with a quickly fading off white bubbly head. Aroma is of caramel, spices, biscuit, cereal. Taste is of warming spices, bread, caramel, malty, orange. Watery to oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation.
3.6 An aroma of clove and Belgian yeast. Hazy gold ale in appearance, with minimal, white head. Lightly bitter taste, with a sweetness from banana. Medium in body and carbonation with a long finish
1.4 On a cold winters night with the ol' Yule log yearning for some action with Mrs. Claus, do you really believe ol' Jolly St. Nick is gonna load his tubby ass up with this junk? I daresay not. That curmudgeonly old fuck at the North Pole is way too savvy to fall for something like this. No sir. To keep his fat old self festive year round surrounded by rotten little elves, interminable snow and that old biddy, Mrs. Claus, you can bet Santa himself is loaded on Blatz. How else can you explain his frivolity as he trots his old carcass around the world smelling reindeer ass and delivering toys to all the rotten undeserving spawn? You betcha, he's loaded with Blatz.....no doubt. Merry Christmas to all, and to all an assload of Blatz!
3.6 Good winter beer. Bell's is moving its way up my list and this one solidifies it. Would buy a case.
3.3 ABV- 5.0 .Appearance: Hazy golden yellow. Very pale. Very little head retention. .Aroma: Some banana, and clove. But overall you'll get a fruity, yeasty scent, with a subtle spice. .Taste: Banana bread, very grainy. Some clove. Subtle spice. Nice wheat, yeasty flavor, capped off with a slight bitterness. .Palate: Medium body, with a lively carbonation. .Overall: B- .Bottom Line: Good representation of the style. Easy to drink, full of flavor. I'd drink this on a cold night in the dead of winter, or on a hot afternoon mid summer. It's one of those.
