Bell's Lager of the Lakes

Bell's Lager of the Lakes

Following in the tradition of Czech Pilsners by offering a combination of firm malt and herbal hop bitterness, Bell’s Lager of the Lakes is as refreshing and crisp as a swim in the Great Lakes.

2.7 12 oz can. Smells of corn and lemon. Hazy, darker yellow in color. Tastes has an initial sweet burst, followed by an almost astringent bitterness. I taste the malts, not much hop character, just bitter. Woody bitter finish. Don't care much for this one.
3.3 Can - pours yellow white head / nose and taste of toasted grain, bread - medium body
3.8 From a can to a glass. Pours a clear light gold color with a monster frothy creamy head. Aroma is sweet malty grains upfront with a corn note. Taste follows the aroma with a slight earthy hop note and a slight bread note aswel. Medium to light mouthfeel. Excellent Pilsner!
3.5 nice pilsener. a good lofty mouthfeel. simple but tasty beer. glad we have bells in Vegas finally.
3.7 12 oz can. Pours a pale gold with a dense long lasting thick white head. Big scents of fresh baked bread. Tastes of astringent hops balancing the malt and an incredibly dry astringent mouthfeel. Super drinkable and still complex enough to intrigue. Another winner from Bells.
3.7 Can. A nice enjoyable Pilsner. The only faults I have is the one dimensional flavor profile. Lacks the complexity of great pilsners.
3.4 It pours golden with a full white head. Head retention is excellent. It have very good clarity. It has a light herbal and bready aroma. It has moderate bread flavors with a balance in the hops which is an herbal and spice combination. The flavor is clean. It has a medium body with moderately high carbonation. Overall, a clean refreshing pilsner with a good balance between the malt and the hops.
3.1 Pours clear canary with a thick and fairly persistent cream head. Aroma presents fresh malt, yeasty, and crisp apple notes. Flavor offers crisp malt, apple, a little yeast, some woody and slightly bitter hops. Texture yields fair fizz and body. Gotta lake it!
3.6 Can, January 7, 2019. Deep, clear gold with a medium head. Malty nose, biscuits and bread, completely pale malt, herbal hops with a touch of lemon. Very lemony flavor, herbal, bready malt but not as rich as a Czech example. The Saaz work well, the malts are so-so. Crisp and hoppy. Good stuff. Not completely authentic, but I could drink a lot of it.
4.3 Nice, smooth taste
3.7 Pours a clear gold with a thick white head and good lacing. It has a decent musty aroma and a mild, even bitterness. It’s light and carbonated feel. Overall, it’s a pretty good pilsner. Not a big fan of pilsner, but I’d buy this on a regular basis.
3.5 Clear light yellow pour with a big white head. Funky bread aroma with toast and bisquit notes. Nice Bready flavor with more toast, yeast and straw. Nice crisp bite at the end. I love a good pilsner and this one is solid. Surprised it's rated so low, pilsner is an unappreciated style.
3.6 Pours very hazy golden yellow with a fast foamy white head that fades to a finger. Aroma is slightly sweet, but mostly nice bready malts. Smells the part for sure. Taste follows with a touch of lemon and some mildly bitter noble hops. Bitter aftertaste. Quite dry; moderated active mouthfeel. Very good example of the style I think!
3.6 I poured it from the can into a glass. It pours golden with a fluffy, white head, lacing, and visible carbonation. The aroma is grain, floral hops, and fruit. The taste is honey, lemon, cracker, and earthy hops. There's a nice bitterness to this. It's crisp, carbonated, and refreshing. This is able to maintain a crisp refreshing quality while still being flavorful.
3.1 On tap at First Draft Taproom & Kitchen. Clear, pale golden appearance with a white head. Aroma of toasted grain, mild bready notes and light spicy hops. Similar flavor, adding mild sweetness and balanced by a light bitterness. Light and crisp on the palate with a lingering finish. Easy to drink overall, a solid lager.
4.1 12 oz. can. Clear yellow body. Smells of doughy malts, floral hops, and a bit of honey. Tastes of doughy and bready malts. Stronger spicy hop flavor throughout. Perfectly clean finish. Light body. Not a beer that bursts with flavor, but that's not what I'm looking for here. It's a very well crafted beer.
3.7 Can. Pours a hazy straw color with a fluffy white head that dissipates to a filmy head. Aromas of German yeast and bready, grassy notes. Grassy, bready notes in the flavor profile with light malt and citrus notes. Crisp hop presence. Soft and round Pilsner. Very nice.
3.0 355ml Dose. Klar und golden mit mittelgroßer Schaumkrone. Leicht hopfig. Vollmundig. Runder Abgang. Odentliches Pilsener.
3.8 12-ounce can pours clear yellow-gold with a thick, creamy white head and lacing. Aroma: honey, lemon, cereal, floral. Flavor: well-balanced honey and lemon, buttery shortbread. Mouthfeel: light-bodied, soft of palette.
3.2 Ar: malt, barley, yeast Ap: light yellow, clear, creamy head T: med malt sweetness, med bitterness P: refreshing, dry finish
3.1 Can. Clear pale golden with an off-white head. Aroma of hay, bread, and cornflakes. Light and crisp. Light bitterness and cereal taste.
3.8 Can from Bells! A beautiful pour with huge pillowy head. Aroma of grains. Lots of cereal grains, hay and sweet corn. Mild saaz. A light and easy drinking Pilsner with a lot of character.
3.8 Slightly opaque pale tan with moderate white head. Ester smell, like bananas and nerds. Taste is same with a bit of malt, not much. Finish is a bit more malt. Texture is a little thin. All in all it's very pleasant and drinkable.
3.7 Deeeeecent lager. Would be a good candidate for the lake day or tailgate party
3.7 Can from Whole Foods Bedford. Mostly clear deep yellow color with a bubbly white head that persists. Crackery grainy pilsner maltiness with a fair amount of earthy spicy hops to counter. Pretty flavorful easy to drink Lager.
3.5 On tap at Ellyn's Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn, IL. dispensed to a shaker showing a clear, light gold/straw color, a modest layer of white foam that reduced slightly to a persistent ring, bubbly film, with some doily-like lacing. The nose was light lager scent, soft grain, grass, a hint of corn, spice, and slight lemon. The taste was similar, and close to medium bodied, assisted by lively carbonation, and a lingering, earthy and slightly peppery bitterness. Crisp & sessionable as expected.
3.5 Pours lightly hazy gold. Lasting head. Nose is metal fruit. Taste is metal fruit, malt, sweet.
3.1 From tap. Pours clear and golden yellow. Small white head. Aroma is grassy, slight grainy. Cornish, grassy. Straw. Bitter and dry grassy finish.
2.9 Solid lager. Some hops to balance and good palate for the style. Draft in WI
3.4 Clear golden pour with a thin white head. Mild lemon and grain aroma. Taste has lots of wheat and crackery malts. Cereal like. I didnt get much hop presence. Still it was very smooth and mild. Easy drinking brew.
