Bell's Official

Bell's Official

Two of our favorite ingredients come together in the brewhouse; pungent American hops and delicious wheat malt. This Hazy IPA is double dry-hopped (a combination of Mosaic, Citra, Azacca, Amarillo and El Dorado hops) resulting in complex peach, stone fruit and tropical notes with a dry finish and balanced bitterness. A refined beer for those who love hops and for those who prefer wheat beers. Go ahead and make it Official.

3.3 Mouth feel is very refreshing, nice hazy hops forsure not overdone, grapefruit in there some where not too shabby
3.0 Pour from can is pale yellow with nice head. First thing to notice is a citrus zip with a mild hop melon flavor. A little wheat in there too.
3.2 Can from Super Buy Rite. Nose lightly dank and scratchy, some mango and lotion, damp tree. Pour very pale yellow, lightly hazy, average carbonation, pillowy bright white suds. Taste light grain, light-medium bitterness, dry, actually really pretty dry, good malt character despite the stripping, some lemon but the hoppiness isn't explosively fruity, just mildly. Dry and delicious finish with a hint of tang, lots of scratchy paper and bitterness, some lingering pungency. Quite good without being great, but obviously very good craftsmanship. [2020.12.29: 3.2] Edited to add: with the full can swirled and dumped, the body is now fuller and smoother without additional yeast bitterness or flavor, and its looks are utterly opaque and creamy.
3.9 Kroger can. Hazy to murky gold with a soft white head. Fresh orange juice, orange peel, tropical fruit nose. Tart tangerine, lemon zest, soap, orange peel, nectarine skin, dandelion. Nice.
3.6 Draft @ Falling Rock Tap House, Denver, CO. Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity peachy citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty peachy citrus hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty peachy citrus hoppy finish.
3.6 Lots of citrus. Some tangerine. Murky yellow pour. Decent for style. Soft empty finish, not much body at the end. Light hop tang. Alright. Can.
4.0 Appearance: Pours a milky, straw-hued body with a medium-sized, white, foamy head. Modest lacing. Smell: Lightly crackery malts with a thin veneer of crisp grain and wheat. Grapefruit-tangerine, meadow flowers and tropical hop tones. Taste: Again, modestly malty, just showing a hint of coarse cracker dough, mild wheat and a touch of grainy character. Add a splash of Fresca, some sweetish honeysuckle florals and a goodly-sized sip of melon juice. Medium bitterness throughout. Mostly drying on the finish with a final rundown of the hop accents, though there is a bit of sweet, smooth wheat on the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Moderate carbonation. Overall: Simple, smooth malt character with a likable hop blend and a decent level of crispness. There're so many of these things on the market these days -- many are absolute, unmitigated disasters and still hit pretty hard on the price-per-ounce. So, I am totally O-K with one that's merely reliable, solid and pleasant.
3.5 12oz can from sampler pack picked up at South Lyndale and consumed on a Fri night from a snifter glass. Light golden orange with plenty of haze. Good lacing. Aroma of citrus. Smells refreshing and bright. Taste actually leans sweeter than expected with a tangerine and hard candy citrus presence. Sweetness moderates towards the end. Somewhat underwhelming overall. Bell's has raised my expectations and this one is just average to me. Decent but I'll reach for Two Hearted over this one every time.
3.5 Aged 5 months. Slightly skunky aftertaste. Tastes slightly pilsner-y.
3.1 Moderate grain and light hop aroma. Hazy golden color with a medium airy white head. Sweet beginning with a light bitter bite that fades in the finish.
3.5 The aroma is hops, pine and a little citrus. Pours a cloudy yellow/orange with mostly diminishing head and very good lacing. The taste is bitter. The body is medium, the texture dry, the carbonation lively and the finish long. A very good beer!
3.5 12 ounce can. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a large white head. A smooth grainy toast and citrus nose. Smooth, lemons, toast, very light. Solid.
3.6 12 oz can pours golden with a white head. Aroma of citrus, grains and some spice. Taste is citrus and some caramel
3.5 Somewhat murky yellow pour with streamers of active carbonation. Lemon aroma. Citrus hop flavor, mostly lemon with some orange, apricot and pepper. Mild spicy finish. I enjoyed it.
3.5 Good:)
3.4 (Can) Cloudy yellow body with medium foamy white head. Wheat and lemon peel aroma; hay, slightly dank. Lemony flavor; fairly light and refreshing; slight pepper.
3.6 Tasted from a 12oz. can date stamped 3/23/20. It poured a hazy light yellow hue with a bubbly fading white head. Light-airy citrus aroma. Easy drinking wheat brew with a hopped lemonade taste. Smooth with only a bit of bitterness on the finish. Alright, but Bell's produces many much better IPAs.
3.9 Pours hazy light golden with a white head. Pineapple and citrus aroma. Flavor is tropical fruit with a citrus finish. Very nice.
3.5 Can at home with the RB virtual crew. Hazy yellow pour with a white head. Understated but well executed.
3.3 On tap. Pours a hazy orange color with a fair head. Aroma of citrus, light fruit and bit of grain. taste of citrus, orange and light fruits with bit of malt sweetness and grain. Some bitterness with slightly fruity finish. Medium body, with a crisp tropical fruit feeling. Not bad.
3.5 Pours a hazy orange with a full white head. The aroma is big on orange and grapefruit and has lesser pineapple and peach. Sipping brings a bitterness that is about average, which is much more than I was expecting for this style. Pine stands as the primary flavor but not so much as to overshadow impressions. These include orange, cereal, grapefruit, grass, and mild resin and spice. Pineapple and pine finish. Medium bodied. Unlike many Hazy IPAs, this one isn't very refreshing. Overall though, there are enough positives to consider this acceptable.
3.4 From the 16 oz can stamped packaged 111419. Foggy looking yellow amber pour under a modest diminishing head. Not as murky as the NEIPA's I get here in New Hampshire. Slight citrus character to the nose and cereal grain. Light to medium body albeit smooth. Sweet taste to start with a kind of fading citrus hop finish. Not as bold as I hoped but also not really fresh.
3.4 Canned, fluffy white foam, hazy orange color, soft sweet citrus aroma and flavors, some brown sugar
3.6 16 oz draft 1/30/20 (McBride's North) Pours hazy golden with a small head. Aroma of citrus and malt. taste of the same along with some light spice and bitterness. This medium bodied brew is pretty good.
3.8 Tap @ Colter Bay. Hazy golden coloured, citric, bit of pine hops, juicy, easy to drink.
3.4 12 oz can from a 6 pack I got at some store a while back and forgot to rate. Hazed golden color, white head. Citrus zest, a little grapefruit. Moderate hop bitterness. Clean. Drinks kinda fizzy. Solid.
3.8 Been drinking a sixer over the weekend of this stuff. Cloudy orange with a frothy head. Nose is perfume, citrus and tropics. Tastes of pineapple, peach, orange blossom, resin, light bitterness and spice. Medium bodied and fruity finish.
3.5 Pours a bright yellow with a white foam head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruits. Flavor is bitter citrus and tropical fruit hops with some floral notes. Decent.
