Bell's Pooltime Ale

Bell's Pooltime Ale

Pooltime Ale is a refreshing Belgian-inspired Wheat Ale with light clove notes. The truly distinguishing feature is the use of 100% Montmorency tart cherries grown in the Traverse City region of Michigan. These cherries add a subtle tartness and bright counterpoint to the other flavors, enhancing Pooltime’s fruity character and making it the perfect beer for all summer activities.

3.1 From tap. Hazy blood orange color with white head. Malty aroma, sweet fruity, sugary, some light spicy herbal notes, grainy. Sweet taste like aroma. Light oily body with soft carbonation
1.9 Sample at a festival. This is not up to Bell's standards. Just a little fruit and some wheat. It tastes cheap.
2.7 Aroma of cream corn and hint of cherrys. Sweet up front. Dry bitterness. Finishes with tart cherrys
3.1 faint tart cherry aroma. amber with tint of red and hazy in color with huge long lasting head. taste is of pie cherry, faint malt note
3.0 Draught @ Lager Tap House, San Diego. Pours hazy golden with a creamy white head, lacings. Aroma of wheat, light spice, fruit, cherries. Flavor is light sweet, wheat, fruit, cherries. Thin to medium body, soft to average carbonation, light sweet finish. 260718
3.7 Can from K&L in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is mild grain, hay, Belgian vibes (yeasty esters, mild coriander / cloves). Taste is tangy, chalky Belgian notes, some hay. Not much cherry flavor but overall better than expected and definitely reminded me of drinking in a FL pool.
3.4 Can. Gold in Color. That aroma is grains with just light fruit. Taste had more fruit in it.
3.4 Tastes largely like a witbier, but with a hint of cherries there as well. Not bad.
3.4 Draft at Misconduct. Cloudy deep (vaguely pinkish) orange pour with soapy off-white foam. Feeling sour citrus well before the billed cherries. Orange juice and peels. Cloves. Peaches. White cherries. Sage. Banana. Papaya. Wheat. Modestly tart. Medium body. Unfiltered. Feels messy but mostly works.
3.5 Cloudy pinkish whitish liquid with thin foamy lacy white head Aroma is spicy yeasty Flava is mildly tart with tangy sweet fruity notes and hints of banana Feels light with moderate fizz Finishes mildly tangy
4.2 One of the better casual summer beers. Refreshing. Nice tart cherry taste.
3.1 Taster at Alexandria Brewing - wtf? Oh cherries. Ok let me wrap my mind around this. Lot of wheat but damn those cherries. Had no clue.
3.4 Bottle. Orange tan color. Aroma is definitely cherries. The best way to describe this is a summer wheat Troegs Mad Elf, the light summer version. Medium light sweetness. Pretty good.
3.7 Pours a hazy a amber orange with a nice white head. Aroma of tropical fruit. Taste is sweet and light up front with a cherry note. Very refreshing
3.6 Tap at Goodnight Irene’s in Wildwood, NJ. Amber gold pour. Malty nose hints at dark fruit. Tart cherry notes upfront are subtle. Spicy wheat notes. Smooth mouthfeel. Light dry finish.
2.8 Canned from Village Beer Merchant. Murky orange. Wheat, cherry, juicy, bit yeasty, hint of cloves that gets more dominant. Med carbo. Finish slightly dry. Not sure if like.
3.5 16 oz. draft at Reilly Craft pizza, Tucson Arizona. Aroma shows mild cherry, wheat, yeast and maybe coriander. The flavor has a decent cherry character with a wheaty/ yeasty backbone. Mild coriander. Mildly tart finish. Certainly drinkable and goes down well with pizza.
3.6 Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy sakuranbo, pinkish red with 2 fingers of foam that linger. Lovely cherry forward nose with cherry skin and flesh aromas, some cobwebs and faint strawberry notes. Grainy texture on the palate, with some wet hay, grain, sweet sakuranbo and light bitterness. Smooth and highly drinkable, although it doesn't look very appealing visually. Lingering sweet cherry on the finish with more cobweb and must. Pretty solid.
3.5 Can pours a opaque pink color with a big tight white head with pink hues, leaving rings of lace on glass. Aromas of fruit, grain, spice and yeast. Tastes of cherries, citrus, bread& pepper. Light body, adequate carbonation, smooth mouthfeel and a tart finish. Nice refreshing cherry flavor that’s not over powering. It hits the spot!
3.6 Pours a hazy yellow with minimal white head. Slightly tart aroma. Flavor is sour cherries with heavy carbonation.
2.8 Can--Good head, with lacing, on top of a hazy, light brown beer. I didn't notice any fruit aroma, what I got was wheat. In fact, I forgot that there was cherry favor in the beer until the finish. Only then, I noted cherry along with the sweetness. Total Wine
2.0 Unfiltered wheat beer, tart cherry upfront with a sweet aftertaste of cherry on the backside. I like the cherry wheat by Samuel Adams, but this one’s pretty gross. Won’t buy it again
3.1 Simple and refreshing with enough cherry to make it slightly interesting. Good summer beer, nothing special.
3.8 Can from giant eagle. Nose is tart and golden color body. Tart cherry and wheat and bubblegum and hint of banana and even clove there but tart is there and dominates without being overpowering. Just a big t heavy for a true summer classic. Good and would do again though.
3.9 Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a fizzy dark golden color with a huge creamy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was yeasty and dusty with faint cherry and phenol. The flavor was tart cherry, berry, sugar and yeast. Medium length finish with growing cherry. Medium bodied and smooth. Very pleasant.
3.5 amber color; tart cherry aroma; slightly tart cherry flavor on a light wheat malt base; light, spicy Belgian yeast
3.1 Hazy light gold, white head. Wheat twang, hint of cherry. Creamy light palate, with some yeast and clove. Hint of cherry tartness.
3.2 Draft pour into a pint glass. The beer is a hazy copper with a white head of foam. Fruity and juicy cherry notes. Sweet and very fruity. Thicker body. Moderately carbonated.
3.5 Can. Lightly hazy amber with a frothy off-white head with a fair amount of lacing. Aroma of saison yeast, clove, and a little cherry. Tastes yeasty, fruity and just a little sweet. Medium bodied and smooth.
3.8 Laid back cherry aroma that’s not the least like cough syrup leads to a solid, tart cherry mouthful and combo dry-juicy finish. Nicely done. Poured from a can packaged four months prior to consumption.
