Bellwoods Bring Out Your Dead (BOYD)

Bellwoods Bring Out Your Dead (BOYD)

2013 version was aged for 3 months in first use cognac barrels and released on April 6th 2013 to celebrate the 1st anniversary of Bellwoods. 2014 version was aged for 12 months in first use cognac barrels and released in Nov 2014. This will be annual release.

A fantastic intersection of oak, spirit character, and decadent stout — and a special release for our 10th Anniversary!

Returning for the first time since 2020, and the seventh time ever, BOYD is our Imperial Stout aged extensively in cognac barrels. It's feisty and warming, with low bitterness, appropriately mild carbonation, notes of anise, brown sugar, figs, and subtle maraschino cherry.

3.9 Bottle from the brewery. Pours an opaque deep brown colour with a small head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of oak, coffee, cognac, and some liquorice. Taste matches the aroma with some notes of vanilla, wine, and caramel. Full bodied with minimal carbonation.
4.4 Draft at the brewery. 2018 edition. Completely black body, small beige head. The aroma kicks like a horse with coconut and cognac. The taste has more vanilla and cognac notes. Wonderful.

3.5 Tap @ MBCC. W aromacie jest bardzo słabo. Trochę ciemnych, prażonych słodów, nuty palone, owoce ciemne, beczka dębowa i drewno. Dalej czekolada i ciemny chleb. W smaku trochę lepiej, ale ciągle dominują ciemne słody paloność, drewno. Cierpki i ściągający finisz. To nie to...Słabe...
