A medium bodied India Pale Ale, dry hopped to provide a very pleasing flora, citrus aroma. Well balanced between malty sweetness and hop bitterness. A very thirst quenching IPA.

3.3Easy going English style IPA. Very drinkable, and that counts for something. I typically don’t care for the under hopped English version of this style, but this alright.
2.9Pours from a tap a cloud amber with thin off white head. Aroma is a rather thin floral, and flavor is a lackadaisical citrus with little maltiness to speak of.
3.5Bottle. Pours a nice head that already reveals its dry hopped aromas. Some malts (caramel, toast) and a nice spread of floral and citrussy hops. Recommended.
3.9Transfer from BA review on 8-21-12 -
Poured from bomber into pint glass
Appearance – The beer poured an amber color with a thick two finger white head. Just like all the other Berkshire beers I have had, the head has good retention with it eventually fading to give a great amount of lacing.
Smell – The smell is sweet with nice lighter hints of hop aroma. The sweet is of honey and a light tangerine. The hop aroma is a nice blend of citrus (grapefruit and lemon) as well as a rather strong floral hop smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice bready and lightly sweet flavor. These honey and bready flavors create a backbone for the beer. At the forefront a floral hop flavor is present. While the initial floral hop is light, it is soon met with some citrus and pine hop flavors. These give a nice bitterness that balances the sweet quite well. The beer bitters ever so slightly with the floral hop seeming to get even strong. In the end a rather pleasant floral spice is left on the tongue
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of its carbonation level with a thickness that is slightly above average. It suits the floral hop and malty flavors quite well.
Overall –It’s a rather smooth IPA. While if you are looking for something very hoppy, this may not be your brew, but if you are looking for something very easy to drink with some nice flavors, this is a nice brew to go to.
3.3Can pours avg gold. Nose some citrus and tropical fruit but more dank hop and some malt. Taste fleeting aromatic early, but then dank hop and grainy malt takes over. A little more grainy like APA. Mild bitter on finish. Not as aromatic as I prefer.
3.9On tap at the Friendly Toast. Clear medium amber pour with an off white head. Citrus hop bouquet. Taste follows suit with hints of tropical fruits. Not overly bitter with a big malty backbone. Tasty with a good body and mouthfeel.
4.0Sweet citrus and malt aroma. Hazy burnt amber color. Fine bubble this head. Not a lot of bitterness considering it’s an IPA. Mild caramel malt taste. Has a crisp refreshing feel. One of the smoother India Pale Ales I’ve had. A nice surprise.
2.6Malty and medium-bodied. Hops tasted like sharp cheddar, blue cheese, mint, and boiled denim. Pours a dark orange and blah, blah, blah. Single can. This IPA kinda sucks. I’ve had too many of these before. Pass.
2.8Can. Grassy aroma with some hint of malt. Taste is malty. Not real bitter. Not the best ipa. Ok at best.
2.412oz can. Pours cloudy orange that never clears. No aroma at all for something claiming "dry-hopped". Thin head that disappears quickly. On the front it starts with some promise and then never goes anywhere with no flavor on the finish, nothing lingering. There is some body and sweetness on the tongue but that’s about it. It looks like the sailor not only lost his way but all his hops too. Overall a big disappointment and rather boring.
3.6Reviewed from notes.
The appearance has a hazy copper orange body that leaves a one finger foamy white head that lasts for a good minute before gently dieing into the body. The body is too hazy for any carbonation to be seen rising. Some mild spotty foamy lacing coats the pint glass.
The smell has some light citrus, hops and malts combined very nicely.
The taste is mostly the same adding a nice extra lingering sweetness.
On the palate, she sits about a medium with nothing harsh on the tongue. I would say this is a fairly sessionable beer.
Overall, this is a pretty good English IPA, good for the style and good for me.
2.9Hazy gold and only slightly hoppy. Pretty dry finish, and only a touch of honied sweetness.
Lecker!

2.7Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Light sweet malts, flowery and earthy hops, and very faint buttery hops. Not good, but not awful either.
2.9Wickenden Pub. Ehh. It tastes like a flagship beer that is brewed for tourists.
3.622 oz bottle. Pours like a classic Pale Ale, with moderate head and good retention. A little too malty for my taste, perhaps more in the English than the American Pale Ale tradition. If I'm ever lost at sea, I'll be sure have some with me.
3.1Pours clear golden with a healthy white head. Aroma is bread, malt, hint of hops. Taste is a bit tangy with a lot of breadiness, little bitterness, a bit of citrus and fair mouthfeel.....more like a California ale than IPA.....not quite what one would expect with IPA on the label.
3.6BBC’s IPA probably closer to a hopped up golden ale for most other brewers, that being said this is one of my favs. Pours clear gold from a 22 oz. bomber, supriseingly dry with good amount of hops, medium body with nice malt. FYI if buying growlers, make sure your store has sufficient turnover as these do become cloudy with time
3.1Poured from a large bottle into a short glass to drink. The beer had a hazy, cloudy dull amber-orange color with an average-sized foamy off-white head that had good retention, but modest cling and lacing. Its aroma had citrus and floral notes, with some pain, and milder tones of caramel malt and candy. The taste was mostly bitter with a grainy-citrus blend, and had a slight sour barley effect too. It was a slightly wet and watery beer with an average mouthfeel, and average carbonation and fizz. Not one of the better BBC beers.
3.2Bottle shared by John. Part of 5K backlog. Pours clear gold with off white head. Nose of caramel malt, pineapple, peach, orange zest and herbal resin. Taste is mostly bready malt and caramel with a dryish resin finish. A bit bland. Okay. Lighter than medium bodied.
3.4A good light IPA. BBC seems to have a light hand with the hops in general; most of their beers are on the malty side. This one is an IPA tho, and it is fully hopped. A "British-inspired" IPA, the label says, with "generous dry-hopping" with Goldings. Floral aroma with some caramel and bread. The taste is like an English IPA, pretty mellow overall, and a good accompaniment to my tofurkey sandwich.
2.5Bottle. Average-looking pour, orange-amber. The aroma is a bit fruity, a bit bakery. The drink is a little schizophrenic. There’s some acidity here, but the narrow band of bready malt doesn’t balance very well with it. This grows me as I go, though ... Maybe as more of it sticks to my mouth, it mellows overall. 3.2Sampled in a bomber on Martha’s Vineyard. A nice summer beer. Not over powering but refreshing.
3.2Actually liked this better by bottle than on tap. Unusual as it is I was comparing it with the Rotator Series Falconer IPA today and it paled in comparison and that is the best way to say it.
Appearance: 4.5 out of 5.00 Beautiful unfiltered appearance. Orange / Copper color... Golden hue.
Smell: Aroma of light citrus..
Taste: Not as hoppy as I would have expected. Very low bitterness for an IPA. Malty and frothy on the front with limited IPA taste more of a golden ale. Not hoppy. No alcohol bite. Maybe the English in English IPA comes from the breadiness of this ale.
Mouthfeel: Suprisingly dry. Does not have peppery or hoppy mouthfeel more of a sweetness which almost tastes skunked...
Overall: No major flaws but not the best of BBC. Its adequate and I would rate it well as Berkshire has not done me wrong in the past but this is not their finest product..
3.1Bomber from Whole Foods Market Darien, CT. Pours a hazy orange color with a large frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus and floral hops, a faint bit of resin, and toasted, almost nutty malts. The taste is toasted malts, graham crackers, citrus hops, apples. Medium bodied. Decent.
3.1Kegs and bottles. I remember freshman year when this was the "special" BBC beer that you rarely saw At parties ’cause it was a little more pricey than their reg lineup. When I drink it these days, I think about how much I didn’t really care what I was injecting beerwise, as long as it wasn’t any kinda BMC product. Not that this particular beer is bad, it’s far from it, but the level it was held to in those early craft beer explorations seems superficial these days. So it goes. Always have a special place in my heart (and liver) for BBC.
3.7Bottled shared by hobbie100. Thanks Richard!
A: Clear and orange, with a half inch of head that leaves a fair amount of lacing around the glass.
S: Hops and various spices
T: Refreshing and clean. This is a quality IPA, though I prefer an IPA to have a bolder hop presence. The spices I noted in the aroma are subtle in the taste, which is good (East Kent Goldings I’ve been told). The beer is slightly bitter, most noticeably in the finish.
M: Good feel. The spicy hop aspect is especially noticeable in the aftertaste. There is a nice, lingering bitter finish that I’m enjoying.
D: Easy to drink, low abv, simple. Good stuff.
3.3cask: nice cask pull with fairly thick head with lacing and soft mouthfeel. Creamy. Somewhat weakly hopped for even an english IPA, leaving it just slightly sweeter than i would have liked. Still, nice on cask.
4.1Draft pours copper. Good flavor and aroma without being overpowering-very drinkable IPA.
