1.2 Smells like there is some malt in there but its hard to tell under the cardboard aroma. Sort of yellowish and reddish, but also way too clear to be exciting in any way. Decent head/lacing. Mild flavour, only just able to tell the malt is in there, its prtty scant on flavour. Thin. Not great.
2.4 From a ’Beers Of America’ mix pack. Some grain and malt with a hint of hops. Watery.
1.8 Pours amber into the glass with small fizzy head. Aroma is grainy just like every one of the beers in this "Beers of America" pack. Flavor is cereal with a slight sweetness. I’m convinced that all of the beers I’ve had from the pack so far are in fact the same beer with different levels of food coloring.
1.7 A slightly syrupy-colored golden ale with crap for a head. Well, not literally. Light malt aroma. Mouthfeel thin and slightly astringent, almost medical. Flavor lightly bitter, no malt presence, with an oxidized bitter aftertaste. Don’t drink this unless you really have to. The aroma is the best thing this beer has going for it... everything after that is pretty disappointing and almost uncomfortable.
0.8 Bottle as part of the "Historic Beers of America" 12 pack. This was even more putrid than the Tejas (if you care, then find my rating and read it). Piss piss piss! I can’t stand this fucking brewery, especially the way they insidiously get their beers into the market without telling you where they are from. This whole "specialty pack" was not marked as being brewed by Minhas at all. In fact, each bottle says "brewed in Monroe WI", but doesn’t say by whom. Sneaky fuckers.
1.9 Light on both aroma and taste. The only thing going for this beer is that you can drink it like water.
1.9 Another weak beer from this brewery. Pours brown. Thin aroma and flavor. Little bit of malt but barely any hops whatsoever. Blah. This 12 pack was a mistake.
2.7 Nothing offensive here. Good color with a lingering pancake. Smells and tastes like it should.
2.7 Dark honey in color. Kinda musky odor, really earthy. A little bland tasting. More like weak malt and some barely detectable herbal hops. Overall its OK, drinkable and not offensive.
2.7 copper to orange pour with a small one finger white head. no big flaws but i won’t go out looking for this one. i would like to know what hops were used
2.6 Presentation: This is one of six beers from an eighteen pack labeled Beer of America, Historical Collection. The 18 pack also came with a nice book titled, The History of Beer in America. It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a mug. There appears to be no freshness date on the bottle. Appearance: It has a fast fading, light fluffy head. It is bright white in color and full of big soapy bubbles. There is only some slick spotty lace here and there but not all that much to speak of really. The body is light golden honey colored and very clear. It has lots of visible in the beer and some big bubbles that stick to the inside of the glass. Smell: The aroma has a touch of leafy hops with some lemony citrus as well. Also there are notes of sweet bready malt and dry pale grain. Taste/Palate: The flavor has light grain, sweet white bread and some fruity orange marmalade notes as well as some sweet honey and buttery tones. There is very little bitterness and just a hint of citrus hop flavor. The finish is more of an acidic hop flavor vs. citrus hop bitterness. The texture is very smooth with a medium body and mellow carbonation. Notes: This was an ok beer but it was still very similar to the other beers in this mixed pack. One other thing to note is that of all the beers in this pack the Berkshire Springs Stock Ale was the only one that said it was brewed in Rochester NY by MDII. Overall the best part of this 18 pack is the book that came with it.
2.2 Garys Beverage Bottle poured into a pint glass produced a two finger white head that trailed of to a thin lace. The body of the brew was a clear pale yellow with good carbonation coming from the bottom of the glass Aromas’ of grain and a light hop smell came of the glass. It was a rather sweat beer for an APA. I didn’t see a bottle code it could be old. I did pull a slightly oxidized taste from the brew, along with some sweat malts. It was light and crisp in the mouth. This one might be old like I said I like to know for sure so I will hold all final comments on this one
2.1 Gift from my Wisconsin hook up. Thanks Jamie. I will keep it short. It was thin and clean but not for me. Dry finish with not enough hop presence.
2.8 I had this a long time ago, as it’s in my records, but I didn’t take down good tasting notes!
2.5 Light yellow orange with a loose off white foam. Aroma is lightly peppery, a small sweet maltiness, but steely and watery overall. Taste is mildly improved, a sweet caramel taste is there, but washed out in the finish by the thinness of it all, enough hops to notice.
2.3 pours a copper color, with a fluffy head. the aroma is malty, and some hops, the flavor is full of malt and nothing really else. its an OK not one of my choices that i would make to drink
2.4 The only thing decent about this beer is its aroma. The rest of the beer doesnt really have much to it.
1.3 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Pale clear copper with ring. Cardboard and mild honey aroma. Toasted honey malt astringent bitter fruit finish that lingers in the throat. Medium-light body. Wretched, but actually better than Ithaca Pale Pale. Drain pour. If I were completely desperate, I might finish this, but I have five cases of Sierra Celebration.
2.4 Warm amber color with tight lasting white head. Mild and inoffensive aroma smells clean, if unexciting, plain and reminiscent of fresh cloth in a fabric store. An earthy, natural aroma. Clean and quaffable. A very simple, light brew without much flavor but then also has nothing to complain about. Thin and watery but not off or bad in any way, could be a lot worse.
2.4 Thanks to Skyview. Clear caramel pour with a clean white head. Crisp aroma of malts and dough. Not much flavor. Some malt and a hint of apple.
2.6 12 oz bottle from a sampler at Publix. Poured a clear amber color with a two finger off white head. The aroma was vegetal. The flavor was malty. No hop presence to speak of.
2.5 I wish people would stop thanking me for these crap beers that come in a wooden tool box like thing. Poured a hazy gold with an off-white head. Aged malt and brown stale apple flesh. Dull malt flavor. Light body with a semi-sweet finish.
2.3 Goldtwins. Light amber with thin head. Aroma is vegetal cooked coran dms, and a slightly wierd fruity esters similar to mango for some reason. Dusty dry crackery malts slight crystal sharpness and a bland dms watery finsih.
1.8 This bottle was brewed & bottled in Rochester and tasted like the mighty Genesee River. Very ho hum brew with a some malt taste but pass on this one.
2.5 I think I know why they call this an old ale....becuase is tasted old as hell. No idea what they were really trying to do...but they failed. Bland, watery, malty and just plain boring.
2.5 So-so beer from a mix pack from Brooskville, FL Publix. There is not much to this beer. It pours with a tiny white head. Aroma and flavor are malt and water with some corn and maybe some hops. I do not like it.
2.5 Copper colored with a light off white colored head. Clear in look. Aromas are malt, corn, and some hops. Taste is malts, corn, and hops. Decent balance missing though and somewhat weak.
2.8 Pours a golden hue with little head. The aroma is predominantly malty with some hops. The flavor is quite malty and is balanced with hops. The body is medium as is the carbonation. This beer is okay. I’d drink it again. Nothing special.
1.6 Clear gold. No head to speak of. Slight sweet hoppy aroma. Slight hop taste. Slightly refreshing. Slightly everything nothing stands out.
2.5 Rich golden color with a small white head. Aroma is of nuts, citrus and malt. Flavor is malty sweet with a light hop bitterness.
