2.8 Bottle. Dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of malts, red fruits and Coca Cola. Taste is very sweet upfront, malty, fruity with a little bit of liquorice, some chocolate and Coca Cola again. Bitter aftertaste. Medium carbonation. Despite my rather low rating I kind of enjoyed it and probably would drink this quite regularly if I was living in Berlin.
2.8 Botella. Dark brown, clear. Sweet dark malty aroma with some dark fruit. Flavour of dark malts, dark fruits, bit alcohol, sweet.
2.6 Bottle from Hoffman. Dark clear maroon color, tan coca cola head. Aroma of burnt toast. Taste is sweet burnt caramel.
3.2 Bottle @ Christmas eve thanks to my dad in law. Murky brownish pour with a frothy head. Notes of light roast, estery, chocolate, cocoa and some fruity notes.
2.8 Bottle in Germany. Aroma of caramel, some grains, sugary malts and licorice. Flavor is quite sweet, slightly bitter and with a strange dry finish. Boring bock.
3.5 Chestnut big head that quickly diminishes raisins marzipan fig alcohol lurking in the background nice
3.5 500ml (random place, Berlin). Clear dark chestnut color. Small size, yellow head, stays. Sweet, caramel, raisins in aroma. Not much of aroma. Sweet, caramel, bit metallic in taste. Caramel and sweet in aftertaste. Alcohol is quite well hidden. Nice one.
3.4 500ml bottle (Random corner shop, Germany) Rich sweet malty aroma, a bit almondy. Deep red, nice tight head. Sweet malty taste, pleasant gentle roast. Very full palate, smooth and sweet, pleasant carbonation. Kinda simple, but very drinkable. Finish has a very subtle nutty bitter tingle. I enjoyed it, despite its simplicity.
3.1 Flasche - Dunkles, leicht rotstichiges Bier mit cremiger Schaumkrone. Voller Körper, weiche Textur, Noten von Schokolade und Kaffee. Im Abgang leicht alkoholisch. Gut trinkbar. Überraschend.
3.3 Butelka 500 ml .Barwa prawie czarna ,piana znikoma a w smaku słodowo-karmelowe.Jak na swoije procenty niezle zakamuflowany i prawie niewyczuwalny alkohol.Ok.
1.7 Brak piany, ciemne z przeb?yskami. Aromat s?odowo-alkoholowy, kiepsko. W smaku puste, troch? s?odowe.
3.3 Bottle; pours dark amber with an off white head; malty aroma with some caramel and hints of dark fruit; taste is sweet with caramel and some dark fruits, malt, and some floral notes; sweet, dry finish with a hint of alcohol; okay
3.2 Last of the Berlin haul. Slim necked deep ruby in a Tuborg vase. Quintessentially German aroma of fruit loaf, rye, liquorice, carob and rust. Sweetish with Allsorts sugared liquorice vibes prevailing. Some bath foam on the snout. Milk chocolate and iron filings. Effortlessly drinkable but lacking the charisma and heft of classier examples.
2.8 1st November 2015 Clear deep red - brown beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Thin and sweet dark malts, trace of dark chocolate. Touch of dark fruits. Something like molasses. Light dry finish. A bit clunky.
3.8 Many thanks for this beer to kevnic2008. Piana spora kremowa ale szybko opadajaca. Kolor dosc ciemny, brazowy z czerwonym refleksem. Zapach piernika w czekoladzie i sliwek. Smak daktyli, sliwek troche jagod i piernikowy posmak. Mile smaczne tresciwe i co wazne alkohol ukryty doskonale
2.9 Pours a beautiful dark color with a small evanescent tan head. Aroma is malty, caramelly with hints of molasses. Taste is sweet, with notes of caramel, cane sugar and molasses. Light carbonation, medium body. It’s warming but alcohol is unnoticeable in the taste. OK Bock.
2.9 pours dark copper with a medium tan head and little lacing. aroma coffee, chocolate, bread, sour milk. quite subtle overall. very malty sweet taste. some alcohol bitterness.
2.3 This is a beer that is on the verge of being good, but isnt. Has some good bock'y-ness to it, but falls short with a macro-ness to it
3.0 Bottle. Dark brown color with white head. Aroma - Dark fruit, pepper. Taste - Sweet, malts, caramel, sugar.
1.5 aroma : iron and sulfur with a little plum taste : alcohol is dominant bitternes only from alcohol very bad beer
3.0 500ml bottle at home. Pours a deep, slightly reddish brown with a thin, foamy, off white head. Sweet malty aroma, taste is predominantly malt and disappears off the palate pretty much straight away. Not unpleasant but nothing special
3.3 På hotellrommet i Berlin. Mørk rav og offwhite skum. Kremet munnfølelse. Bær og malt i smaken. En saftig og deilig bock. Foretrekker denne fremfor den lyse utgaven.
2.8 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy dark copper brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of caramel malt, with notes of roast and touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with roasty notes and bitter touches of hops and metal. Estery and bittersweet aftertaste. Drinkable but nothing special.
2.8 * Old rating, 0,5l-crown-top bottle, best before 11.05. Mild-süßlich-malziger Bock. Dickflüssig-malzig, dunkle Früchte, kaum Herbe, dadurch etwas klebrig.
3.0 Bottle. Dark brown body, semiclear, with a tanned head. Aroma of dark fruits, roasted malt, caramel. Taste is sweet, sugary, metallic, with a light fruity end. Decent body, mild bitterness. Sweet toffee aftertaste with a metallic sting.
2.5 Bottle from Galeria Kaufhof, Berlin, September 2014. Dark amber with a medium head. Sweetish with malt, caramel and light fruit. Also some light notes of alcohol. Low bitterness in the finish. A bit boring to be honest.
3.0 Bottle at Mommseneck, Berlin. Has a clear, deep reddish brown colour and a medium, beige head. Pretty carbonated. Sweet aroma of chocolate, leather, nuts and some roasted malt and alcohol. The flavour is more sweet and distinct with more roasted malt and brown sugar. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A well-balanced bock. More tasteful than aromatic.
2.6 Had this from the bottle. Faint aroma with sweet/caramel malt, roasted notes, bad coffee. Taste is roasted, mineraly with faint chocolate and warming alcohol. Medium body, high fizzy carbonation, round mouth feel. Dry herbal bitter after taste. Pretty sharp and unbalanced. Could perhaps be better with some age, but as of now, nothing really good.
