BFM La Torpille

BFM La Torpille

3.8 Bottle thanks to wombat23. Dark amber with a creamy head that slowly fades. Aroma is yeasty, full of caramel and spices, hints of chocolate. Taste is sweet and spicy, full of coriander, clove and cinnamon. A mildly sour undertone of unripe plum hangs in the background. Body is medium, carbonation is mild. Overall well balanced and delicious. I’m impressed.
3.5 Dégustée le 2017-09-25. .
2.8 Danke an anstei. Dunkel kräutriger, leicht hefiger Antrunk. Trocken röstiger und leicht alkoholischer Mittelteil, steigende Kräuternoten, geringe Süße. Etwas parfümiert, weicher, intensiv hefiger Nachgeschmack. 9/8/8/8/8/9
3.1 Aromas a almendras y leva Buen aspecto espuma poco persistente En boca balanceada, caramelo y final amargo suave
3.4 Green apple, nuts, bread, raisins, figs and a bit of alco on the tongue. Hi carbo, lo bod. Like a bit more candied an lo bodied vector away from the mean quad/BSA. Nonetheless, an entirely unique beer (and brewer) to my knowledge, for better or for worse.
3.9 Getting some clove, nutmeg, caramel, and toffee - but light in bod and not at all too sweet. Very balanced in terms of spice. Boyfriend disagrees with my love of this...I suppose this beer is divisive (66 overall in July 2017), but I’m a fangirl.
3.6 From bottle thanks to skullgeorge. Hazy copper red color with off white to pink head. Malty and yeasty aroma, caramel, fruity, spicy. Sweet and bitter like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
2.8 Rami Rami is drinking a La Torpille by BFM (Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes) at Konstruktorska Business Center Ufo! Ciemny susz, banan, kasztan, lekko funky, chleb, przyprawy, ciezkie, slodkie i kwasne na raz. Nie smakuje mi specjalnie, ale b. ciekawe Rami Rami: Alko sups schowane
2.9 Poured from a 33 cL bottle. Deep copper with a light brown/tan. Aroma of Belgian yeast, smokey and spice/herb. Light acidic sourness. Floral and fruity sweetness. Earthy flavours. Full bodied, creamy and oily. Slight bitterness. Light carbonation.
3.4 From bottle. Pours clear, dark brown. Nose of spices, cherries, brambles, malt loaf. Taste is salted caramel, spices.
3.6 Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep amber to brown with a nice lacy head. Nose - toffee with a yeasty tang. Taste - more of the same. Some Jamaica cake. Palate - close to medium bodied with a swetvyet tangy texture. The finish is dry and tangy. Overall - solid berr. Would’ve said this was either an Abbey Dubbel or a Biere de Garde in style.
3.6 0,33 l swing top bottle from Biervana Red-Brown color, hazy, frothy tan foam head. caramel, barnyard, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish,
3.8 dark brown colour, moderate sized creamy beige head; aroma of dried cherry, chocolate, leather and earthy notes, some peach, hints of smoke and maybe banana; taste is the same with mild lactic acid, sweetened cocoa powder and bread yeast notes; quite unique Belgian strong ale
3.5 Bottle at home. Dark brown with nice creamy beige head. Lots of cloves, caramel, allspice, banana bread, raisins, cinnamon, overripe fruits, light cocoa, bakers yeast. It’s actually quite bready but with lots of dark malts and spices too. Soft dried flowers in the finish and on the nose. Over medium sweet and medium bodied. Feels a bit sugary, but not too full bodied, still quite drinkable. Decent beer but lots of spices in here...
3.6 Deep brown with a tiny mocha head. Aroma is vinegar and fermented fruit. Taste is lots of cinnamon, allspice, and caramel with a light sour finish. A bit thin.
3.5 Pours rather unclear brown, good white head. Smell is intense, spices, bit sweet. taste is sharp, bitter, very sharp ( almost ? ) sour touch. very mild though ! mild sweetness. Rather spiced, very x-massy . lighter mf, higher carbo.
3.0 0.33l swingtop bottle. On my way from the kitchen to my living room it wanted out of the bottle. No gush, but a slow stream. The beer itself is a deep dark brown one with a little reddish hue and a small dark grey/brown top. A bit low on the nose perhaps. I get a good amount of sweetness here. Sugary dark knekk sweetness with chocolate, sour red currants and some yeast. It has a soft oily almost gliding mouthfeel and the carbonation is soft to average. Tastes alright. I have no idea what genre this is, but that doesn’t really matter. Light chocolaty, nesquick, cardboard and a dry feeling in the mountains have. It’s a bit too sweet to be called balanced. Drinks alright, but a tad to far out there on the sweet side for being true sessionabble. 19.10.2013
3.5 33cl bottle shared at home. Hazy dark orange with a medium slightly off-white head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with subtle bitter tones. Caramel, peach, malts, straw and herbs. Quite nice.
3.8 Bottle at home. Pours hazy brown with lots of yeast sediment. Some head. Very estery aroma, very fruity and banana aroma, spicy, toasty, and darkish malts. Medium-heavy body. Very fruity and estery, spicy and peppery, dark/toasted malts, quite bitter, chocolate. Great bitter, herbal finish. Really nice!
3.6 0.33l bottle from coop in st-ursanne. pours an opaque dark chestnut whit a steady off-white head and a nice lacing. aroma of ham and spices. flavour of ham, apricots, leather. interesting and complex. but why so much ham?
3.4 Bottle from Salt Horse. Pours clear red - brown with a thin demerara sugar coloured head. Aromas of caramel and clove. Taste is more of the same. Sweet finish.
3.5 Bottle. Caramelized dark brown. Caramel is present throughout, but rather of the bitter kind. Pleasantly malty. The ABV doesn’t really show, just slightly on swallowing. Nice.
3.3 Botella @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 10-02-2016. BBD: 01-2017 Color marrón claro, sabor malta, caramelo, cuerpo medio..
3.3 330ml bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 10-02-2016. BBD: 01-2017. In short :sweet little tart ale. Pours hazy copper with some off white head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Caramel, malty, little roasty and fruity nose. Medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is swwr, little sour, caramel, toffee.
3.3 33 cl flip-top, bottle conditioned. Very dark ruby brown-red, loads of floating sediments, thin tan head. Aroma is very spicy and sweet. Medium mouthfeel, medium carbonation, bitter aftertaste. Flavour is very spicy, lots of clove, chilli heatness, peppers, dark fruits and alcohol. All in all this beer features a lot of impressions. It’s complex and impossible to ignore. Well put together, but I don’t think I will buy another one.
3.6 Bottle. Dark brown with a medium sized beige head. Spicy nose with some wood and brown sugar also. Spices also come through in the flavour along with wood, coffee, brown sugar, dark bread, nuts, cloves, mild chili like heat. Medium body, soft and filling with soft carbonation. Some sweetness, mild bitterness. Soft and pleasant, a bit too muche cloves for my taste.
